Intersex Teacher Lost His Job After Being Mistaken for Transgender
Scalf, who is intersex and identifies as male, is now at the center of an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filing claiming he was pushed out of his job after a school district allegedly concluded — incorrectly, in his view — that he was transgender.

My plans with friend are spoiled when she’s handed her grandkids without warning
I have a serious issue with my best girlfriend. We make plans together, adult plans, and then at the last minute, her kids drop the young grandkids off for her to babysit, curtailing any plans we have together. The past few times, we have changed our plans to a “kids” activity.
I have an extremely busy client load, and I’m losing income by accommodating my friend’s time constraints, which revolve around making her husband’s lunch and dinner. Although I’m single now (I am a widow), I do understand why she has her priorities. If her grandkids are there when we have plans, she asks me to pick them up fast food on the way over — on my dime.
I have kids and grandkids myself, and they are important to me. I’m tired of being held hostage by her adult children who I feel are using her and taking advantage of the “drop-in day care” with Nana. How can I talk to her about our time being important, too? I have intentionally NOT made plans with my grandkids if she and I have plans, and I would love some reciprocity. — THROWN UNDER THE BUS

“Space crime” allegation leads to arrest of lesbian astronaut’s ex-wife
Summer Worden outed her then-estranged wife, astronaut Anne McClain, when she accused her of illegally attempting to access her bank account from the International Space Station last year. It was dubbed the “first space crime” by the media.
But in a surprising turn of events, Worden has now been indicted and charged with making the whole thing up.
The women were involved in a bitter divorce and custody dispute when Worden made the allegation. Claiming McClain had accessed her account from a NASA computer terminal, Worden filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and NASA’s Office of Inspector General.
After an investigation, federal prosecutors allege that Worden lied about key details about when the account was opened and whether or not McClain had access to the account still.

Terrell said that the Black community rejects Black English because it is "improper."

Male Rape: A Growing Epidemic That Must Be Confronted
A few weeks ago, I read a gripping account of a man in his early thirties who recounted his experience of being raped when he was in his mid 20s. He only recently decided to share his story with others. The person in question made the case that he decided not to use his real name, but rather employed a pseudonym as he told his experience. His story was intense, graphic, gripping, dramatic and gut wrenching. My heart ached at the pain and psychological trauma this man endured and kept concealed from others. Indeed, it was a wonder the level of understandable anguish he harbored did not overwhelm him or cause him to resort to more drastic measures such as suicide.
Over the past few years, we have seen a number of cases where men have been the victims of rape. From the military to college campuses, private homes and other avenues of American society. In fact, a few years ago in 2012, Trey Malone, a junior at Amherst College and a distinguished student both academically and athletically, took his on life after he was unable to deal with the immense trauma and intense emotions he suffered after being the victim of rape by a co-ed.

We Can Raise Boys To Become Good Men By Treating Them Like Girls
When I was a kid in the 1970s, the “tomboy” was queen — or maybe king. Even a non-sporty girl like me was dressed in the unisex uniforms of white-piped track shorts, Keds, and t-shirts, just like my brother. The lesson I learned from my parents, peers, the media, and the passage of Title IX in 1972, was that I had legal right to everything culturally marked as “for boys.”
But the same access to girls’ worlds has still not been granted to boys. Despite the recent media focus on toxic masculinity, boys still feel insistent pressure to be violent, to shut down emotions, to watch porn, and to have sex even when they don’t want or aren’t ready to. They feel pressure to reject anything associated with what’s culturally marked as “feminine” — kindness, vulnerability, love, seeking help, let alone dolls and the color pink — and pressure to look down on girls and women. Boys learn that “girly” is an insult, and they must at all costs distance themselves from it.
