Stranger Things (2016-2025)
It was all heart and I loved it. 01-Jan-2026
I enjoyed this season because I accepted what it was instead of what it should be. 09-Dec-2025
If this were an enjoyable season I wouldn't have talked about their hair. The retro lab visit was every mythological idea the auteurs and their fan pages dreamed up during video chats. It met everywhere but the middle. Russian prison was an excuse to keep actors that can't stand each other apart. (The audience likes them together.) The prison chapter peaked when daddy shaved his hair. He won Best Hair. The extra stuff put me to sleep. Too much. 01-Jun-2022
S4E5. I was surprised how much I had forgotten and remembered. Old people don't have time to look back. There isn't much time. The hair is horrendous. A guaranteed 80's do is brushing it forwards, teasing it, spraying it and letting it go. Instant throwback art. El is a super dork with boy crushes, the token of leftwing communist bullying and delicate. She's a dehumanized weapon. Comicbook El would have found gifts of other strength to make her cope and conquer. Why would she become Carrie? Some of the characters were hard to bear. It zooms away from sense, piles for representation and exemplifies fandom exhaustion. The hair. Worst ever! 30-May-2022
PS: I spent most of the season wanting to comb everybody's messy hair. 08-Aug-2019
The magic dissipated in #3 but unity, bromance, and a pulverizing ending held it up. 06-Aug-2019
#2 gratified every sense with throb and tenderness. 29-Nov-2017
There can't be much to disconcert when with every dedication and homage you are dealt original cards with likeable imprinted players and a perplexing with soul reflexing game.
Wynona is unwavering in motherhood vs sanity as David Harbour is papa Bear strength. The kids are inherent, funny and affecting. Millie Bobbi Brown is tasked with conveyance of eye speak and she handles it beautifully.
Success is achieved through inspiration not impersonation. 29-Aug-2016
It: Welcome To Derry (2025)

S1E8. It survives because of memorable shots. The fog, the gumption, It's eyes sparkling, It skipping, It doing anything. The solution seemed too simplified for such an extravagant showcase. 18-Dec-2025
It was the most frightening yet. S1E7. The best way to honor culture is to be honest and inquisitive. I do not understand what It is, more than when I read the book as a child. It was a hefty book. I read on because a beast's rape of a boy sounded familiar to me. I was born to it. I think Bill betrayed his Pennywise character by acting like a kid pretending to be an adult as a human. It was a letdown. The culture clash is not storytelling but stoning. How is one group better than the other? I kept thinking, if we nixed the adult footage would it matter, more?
PS: when soldier mama asked the accused to get undressed I was confused. How did she hide a black naked man in her car with her underage son from the army? 08-Dec-2025
The babies don't step on cues and are willing to make their characters heart-born. I always resented Charlie Brown for cancelling adults but it should apply here. Every time the children were not present, the momentum faltered. The prequel suffers from grandiosity when it needed to be more intimate. It's how gradually works. It never starts better. Where were these military bastards in the future? I'm confused. Is anybody going to explain why dead boy proclaimed that It sleeps all day and feeds all night? I say, "then why is It terrorizing them during the day? Constantly!" The only acceptable answer is, "he was lying." If all doors to a fantasy are left open, it would create chaos. I suspend disbelief in order to enjoy the story but I can't tolerate the nonsensical. The prequel boggles the part of the imagination I would need to believe. TMI. 29-Nov-2025
Alien: Earth (2025-)

An A+ assignment that did extra credit. Machines against humanity even as they become. The villains are DC worthy, the human/machine analogy is intriguing and the actors are treating the story with care. It's a joy to be scared without Pazuzu's involvement. 10-Sep-2025
Gilded Age, The (2022-)

Having Gladys marry a foreigner and sending her mother to save her was great. I hope Oscar redeems himself. I hope Marian doesn’t get engaged, ever. I never understood why they were calling the footman a Clock Twink until the last season. Good for him. Adding Rashad as a villain is right up her alley. She and Audra need to take it to the streets. I felt Aunt Gladys’ pain and how hilarious she was. Mr. Russell needs a makeover. They found the bullet that can strike through Bertha’s heart and it was impressive. I disliked Nathan Lane’s southern depiction from beginning to end. The accent was awful. 25-Aug-2025
Leanne (2025)

Feisty gals is what gets the party going but I'd be satisfied with a Freaky Friday switch for season 2. Kristen Johnson is there to prop up the main, be superfluous and funny. We've seen this before by the same artist. It'd be nice to graduate from hate of everything to something. 13-Aug-2025
Squid Game (2021)

S3 brought back what was missing in the second season, clever games and family heartbreak. I gave up on the technical side because I know it won't add up and it would skew my opinion but they shot through our hearts in subtle and beautiful ways. The trans was heroic and sympathetic, the grandma broke our hearts and the lead was magnificent. That face. I finally understood his character, his pride and redemption. The extra game member seemed gimmicky but it worked because it got to the heart of the matter. Knives and keys was a gripping episode because of the surprises, heartbeats and bravery. The games were creative and scary as fuck. The asides halted the momentum and achieved little purpose but the detective was pretty as fuck. The actors were a crew and they showed it. It isn't better than the first but it's a fitting end. 04-Jul-2025
S2 is missing something. Impact. A feeling of exhaustion permeated and interrupted some of the proceedings. The games didn't rivet, the cast was stereotypically goofy, compassion was limited and sense started to drag. The ship shenanigans didn't have closure or purpose. I presume the save will be last minute in S3. Thinking you can overtake a heavily guarded facility is ludicrous. In life I doubt that a majority of people would choose to die. I wanted to see people go home. Why doesn't anyone hook up? A grab and a rub here and there wouldn't hurt. How do the men deal with morning wood? I'm losing empathy. 04-Jan-2025
If you can't afford happy things, you become bitter, if your are unable to provide, you become addicted and if you can't eat, you die. It's called poverty. A group of instinctual individuals are given the opportunity to have their financial struggles resolved. They have to play children's games that are only safe in rhythm but not rhyme. If you lose, you die. If you win, it's a lot. The characters are specific, writing is a brainstorm and the whole is an abundance of I've never seen anything like this before. 07-Oct-2021
S1E7. The VIPs were from Palm Springs. 05-Oct-2021
S1E4. I am petrified and addicted. 01-Oct-2021
Survivors, The (2025)

The performers were in sync hitting their marks allowing co-stars to follow. Dialogue described the pain in loving and surviving after death. The father's illness was not a prop to fit the story but a slice of what he may be experiencing. Once my curiosity peaked I faithfully followed. Boy goes into cave during a storm and his older brother and friend fail to rescue him. 15 years later he returns to town to visit his sick dad and unforgivable mother. A lot of the town resent him for surviving. With girlfriend and child in tow they have to battle the consequences of everyone's actions esp. after another death happens. It is written by people who live life instead of brag about it. The twists and turns throw us off the scent but the reveal played it safe when realizing scary clues would have elevated the heartbreak. The cast were too good to single out. Jessica De Gouw's hair was retro hot. I know I singled her out but only because her hair was so there. How could I keep my mouth shut? 14-Jun-2025
You (2018-2025)

Joe Rosenberg is little boys raised to woo a woman like only a fake prince could. Male awakenings are destructive and mentally detrimental. The premise simplified things to improve characterization. Good choice. A happy marriage to a foreign twat and reunited with a relinquished child, Joe is living the life of a planner, pioneer and romanticist. The wife has secrets and Joe has plenty of funny quips to unlock them. Joe's flubs were used to diminish his endurance as a famous serial killer. He was brushed off. Bringing people back from the dead, unless it's Ripley, Xena or Buffy is detrimental to reality. Women need an army to bring one man down. What a waste of taxpayer's money. Meet and greet with couple psycho could have been more casual, less criminal and more romantic. Ms Camp steals and saves a lot of her scenes because it took me a while to recognize her as another character and because I laughed when I found out. Pen went there and was brilliant. His breakdown was cathartic. The ladies reinforced that what restrains a man isn't himself but a notion. My finale would have consisted of him going Jason Vorhees on everybody without the mask, a bare chest, naked, weopanized and killing to the max. 10-May-2025
It gassed up, almost made it out of the parking lot, but got blindsided by a food truck. What is the commonality between the women Joe obsesses over? They are very different. At least now he can afford to buy more cages. 12-Mar-2023
S3E9. The dork talks to dead people, now? It's a lazy writing gimmick. Who's bankrolling the fancy cages? Why is the entrance to the cage not padlocked? How do people shit in that cage? Shouldn't they, at least, be wearing diapers? Why do all movie assholes like to be tied up? Greg Kinnear seems to be the only one that understood the assignment. 12-Mar-2023
I heard it gets better but the 2 new episodes I watched seemed like they ran out of gas at the CW parking lot. 12-Mar-2023
It's indifferent to the story. Joe is surrounded by people that are too cliche to make fun of. He is being uncharacteristic, it made me forget what his fetish is and he has no equal match. 19-Feb-2023
Psycho settles into suburban madness. The psychology is rewritten to fit a desperate suburbanite. Pretension is the clarification of ascension. Psychos don't have bouts of good feelings. If they do it's the reason they're killing. Silence as I listened to Penn Badgley make me laugh, hurl and cum. Respect to Victoria Pedretti's restraint as a frustrated woman. Shalita Grant filled her empty cup. Travis Van Winkle enshrined it. Dylan Arnold needed more daddy laps. Tati Gabrielle was feathery. Daddy Speedman needed Dylan Arnold to sit on his lap. The whole was to make a monkey out of me. I love that shit! 02-Nov-2021
Leave it to California ("the Hellmouth") to turn a serial into a romantic victim. The pyschology was bi-polar and the disentanglements were happenstance and charred. I'm not excited to see a third season. 31-Dec-2019
The thrill of the cum trampled by a kick in the balls. The delicacies of love entrenched by intrinsic mind bending. Badgley steals the crown structuring the depth of his humanity and indignation. 20-Apr-2019
Adolescence (2025)

Each episode was filmed in one continuous shot. I thought that would distract me from enjoying it. "Oh, shit, I missed out on what they're saying because I was too busy studying shots." There is a short adjustment period but it's worth it. The subject matters. Boys are lost in a world that wants to soften them whilst expecting heroic things. The only way a man can break a woman's power is to rage and destroy. The boy feels inadequate and his audience is judging him. The family are all about honor and doing the right thing. The dad had great reactions, the protagonist frustrated like a real child, I can watch black daddy cop run all day, the psychiatrist's facade crumbling was classic talent, it took me forever to find out what that last word meant and all the support was great. The chase didn't stumble, the cameras kept moving, actors knew their places, writing was thought provoking and it was realistically accurate. It was about adolescence and the adults who shape them. 27-Mar-2025
Designing Women (1986 - 1993)

The characters are strong, the funny keeps you laughing, the writing was pensive, passionate and controversial, the originals were fabulous and a black man in a girl's dress is always funny. Once Suzanne and Charlene depart the sizzle and purpose is gone. A talented trio of actors become shadows of the characters they were replacing without a voice of their own. The fatter Delta Burke got the funnier she became. You can feel the antagonism in the writing though. She was saddled with savage criticism and disdain but her talent was her shield. We could have done with less Julia fits but nobody could sell it like Dixie Carter. She was legs, elegance and conviction. Annie Potts liberated herself and her character. She sounded like she could give birth to a McConaughey. Jean Smart aced dumb and won our hearts. The last two seasons are somber and desperate. TG Alice Ghostley and Mr. Taylor are there to be irreverent and hilarious. 30-Dec-2024
La Palma (2024)

I was invested until the end. The characters had depth and appeal but made little sense. In what world do children overreact because their parents are arguing? Teens don't give a fuck. I didn't understand the rift between mom and dad. He promised to acquiesce to her regiment but chose happiness instead. She dreams of a proper dick that can soothe her needs and hubby acknowledges that by drinking 3 vase beers every night. What's wrong with that? Autism should never be utilized as a gimmick. No regular person would ever figure out those coordinates. They would die. Fake comebacks are exhausting and disrespectful to artists who actually wring emotions out of concept. A disaster movie without climate deaths is like Godzilla with no breath. The parting of the ocean was only seconds. You can't be edgy or effective if the description is it's like Swiss Family Robinson without a budget...or deaths...except that guy in the back. 24-Dec-2024
Penguin, The (2024)

OK, the finale gave me a little something. 11-Nov-2024
Let's employ some costumers! 10-Nov-2024
S1E7. The performers were never less than perfect. Cristin Milioti is a Talia Shire find. Rhenzy's light turned off for a minute. Theo needs to make more angry nude scenes. Daddy Penguin is fantastic but the subject is anti-comic and judgmental. The gangster bit is a familiar take on nothing. An artist should be able to distinguish Gotham City from The Bronx. Perfectionism is abundant but the point is lost. Villains need heroes to stop them, lest we all become villains. I admired much but I cared very little. It's guise threw me off.
By the way, costumes are part of reality. What's up with a lack of that? 10-Nov-2024
S1E1. Colin delivers a towering performance in a series whose only connection to the DC world is the names. It's predictable gangster angst for people with amnesia who no longer remember comics or original gangsters. 20-Sep-2024
Marriage Is Blind: Habibi (2024-)

The ladies voted and it was unanimous. The only traditions they want to uphold are the ones with parties. 19-Oct-2024
The men are all manmeat and the ladies are fantasy dolls. It's a dazzling community that does everything different because their transition is just a facade. Women are embracing it like the fable served to them by the universe that is rarely achieved. They want to be women of the now but the strength of man and family holds them down. They can only look the part. The men gain might by sticking to traditions that don't assist either sex in marriage. She roams his castle in chains. He roams the town tying females up. They are not allowed kissing, fondling or co-habitation which suffices for an interesting working vacation but not love. The sexes fall in love at a rapid pace. They have a script written and they're going to play it out no matter the expense. Jealousy is a big thing because they're always horny and there is always another Barbie or Ken to fantasize about. A man demands that his future wife not be a dancer, a Barbie treated her fiancee like she was being paid, women have a better sense of identity than men, women want to fly and men only want to fly a kite. There is fun to be had when the ladies awaken and the men get spit upon. Educational incredulity in a very nice package. 18-Oct-2024
Monsters: Menendez Brothers (2024)

The end road was chock full of accomplished performances. Mr. Lane tapped into heartache and regret and transmitted it to the audience. It was sheer strength. Leslie Grossman found a character that matched her skills like a glove. She was fun. Chavez built as his character progressed. A little askew, unsure but learning. The "cry" bit was genius. Koch appeared wallflowered but eager to surprise. He wore those glasses like Joan Crawford would, with confidence. A very capable group of actors. A hurricane of thoughts strikes briefly to annihilate jury members' votes. It was compelling. I didn't recognize her but there was something about the voice, legend and talent that felt like home. When I realized it was Ms. Lawrence I applauded. The final flashback back-pedaled all the emotions and perceptions that transpired. My vote didn't matter because they figured it out for us. The idea that the parents were blameless because their crimes were invisible does not free them of guilt, sin or karma. The only fact I'm sure about is that the eggs wouldn't have cracked if the parents hadn't laid them. 26-Sep-2024
S1E6. Art no longer belongs to the creator once someone else experiences it. It evolves, balloons then remains stagnant. The brothers are handsome and well-cast. The constant affection between them signified an unbreakable bond. Paying attention is necessary to reap the benefits of arcs and surprises. Sevigny is so accurate in her portrayal that she becomes as lost in the story as the real mother did in life. Good work. Javier is a beautiful monster that masters gut wrench and authority. Episode 6 was, so far, the best. The sex, abuse, the heritage, the privilege and mental enslavement were given honest and heartfelt consideration. It was the first time in a long time that I felt akin to characters that represented me. (It's not always about color, most of the time it's about shared experiences.) Brilliant direction and colorful words added to the episode's crescendo. 25-Sep-2024
Accidente (2024)

It rivets early but the cast kept chugging. An accident occurs that tests the strength of several families. Intriguing twists kept me interested. The fault of the accident was misfortune. The actors appeared hired from mysterious little black books. All fuckable. Charro should get an award for making toes curl. That gorgeous motherfucker. I noticed mexicans have perkier asses than other boys. I couldn't find a flat ass. Even the little ass was perky. The story didn't know when to quit and cash in their chips. It became melodramatic and telenovela centric. The players pulled their weight but gravity matter ignored them. The story became too coincidental to explain. It over reached. Fun was had and some surprises worked but the teapot wasn't hot enough to make tea. 03-Sep-2024
