Bridgerton (2020-)

S1E8. A woman wraps up the marriage contract when she can birth a good shank to serve the round table. Men like ideals in women's heads so that our explanations make sense to them. It was brotime, sweetie! They took the cultures out of the equation. We judge them individually. Every actor willed good force. It was fun, it was camp, it was time and we're in it. The ending was delicious and I'm trading the duke in for the boxer. The duke has an "I'm so pretty" snarl. The other looks like my camper. Good job. 28-Dec-2020
S1E7. Mid-thru is an explanation of how black culture became elite. I bought it. The series needs more scandal and debauchery though. I'm replacing yes, daddy with yes, duke. 27-Dec-2020
S1E2. Not necessarily the show I want to binge on after mother telling me my black is white but it's Shonda so I'll give it a go. The shock of seeing black empowered gentleman and ladies of the pre-Victorian era makes my brain explode with fact check assumptions. I don't because I want to accept it on its own merit. Most of the cast whistles, foams and pours whilst the rest couldn't get out of their modern heads. The business at hand is to score the most pristine and delicate virgin hopefully with fine manners (a "yes girl") to fulfill a man's dream of future family and success. A woman's power is to profit from the business, band and thwart any mismatch that might bring a daughter harm and make sons proud. Shonda adds her sight of man appreciation, Shondaspeare fast talk and on your knees intrigue. I remember Nicola Coughlan because I wanted to eat her like she ate that cake. She's delicious. The picture for myself didn't get any clearer because I'm watching black people pretending to live whites lives. It makes the future modern brain wonder what the hate was all about. 26-Dec-2020
Undoing, The (2020-)

The killer is not who I thought. It was a slow tread to the courtroom but that gave us time to loom over some well illuminated characters. Noah Jupe was playing with and absorbing the masters. Hugh makes you want to be Elena. Noma Dumezweni was a commandment and the voice of Darth Vader's mother. Donald Sutherland found an organic hard-on. Lilly Rabe applies her frenetic edge to a woman in charge. Mathilda DeAngelis is a rocket. Ismael Cruz Cordova is a missile. Edan Alexander is sweet. Rosemary Harris is a Meryl inspired craftsman. Nic's icicles are made of diamonds. The story is as much about marriage and family as it is about crime. Marriage is the victim. The direction needed a style makeover but the words came to life. 01-Dec-2020
The series is too distant to profile which makes it hard to cling to. Nicole eerily returns to "Far and Away" and "Dead Calm" personas and it's intriguingly off-putting. Hugh Grant is still the guy whose cummerbund you want to fix and the mystery contains possibilities. I think I know who did it. 29-Oct-2020
A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (1973)

The old fossil envisioned the future better than Sci-fi movies could. Lesbian (Peppermint Patty) imposes herself on sex confused Charlie Brown for Thanksgiving. Even though the underdog (CB) has plans with grandma he doesn't want to disappoint his friends and so with a little help from his cohorts, he concocts a non-traditional dinner. Linus is Anderson Cooper quoting the bible and mythological news with acid humor. Lucy is my sister. Marcie is waiting for Peppermint Patty to ask her out and cut the CB crap. Sally is my angel. Snoopy is the perverted relative or friend that would perform out of this world feats and lick your kids' faces during commercials. The bird was his underaged twink. Ok, I don't like Snoopy. He always took the reality out of the lesson and fuck him for hiding that turkey. Franklin was invited, sat at the table and was gender-identified. It was progress. You get to sit at the table. Good for you. Don't waste it. The lessons were sweet and the babies are classic. Good memories cause us no harm. 26-Nov-2020
Dash & Lilly (2020-)

Younglings interweave fantasy into their humdrum lives to add adventure and find a true sense of love. To believe in love we must accept the fairy tale concoction in our heads. To endure it we must neglect all realities on our way. The cast is charming and sweet, Christmas in New York is a one and only and traditions are adaptable. An appreciated Christmas card from a kindly neighbor. 13-Nov-2020
Someone Has To Die (2020-)

Boy sent to Mexico to avoid war and to study returns home, with a seductive male dancer in tow. The 50s saga unravels sex identity issues and makes the threat of a snitch, survival mode. The son is grappling with gaiety while enduring a fake proposal to a girl he really hates. The father is the lord of his castle oblivious of the killing, cheating, debauchery, scandals and crimes of his ships. One little spoiled girl twirls her tongue to avenge her betrothed's rejection, her goal is to sink his ship. The more ships honking their horns, the harder the lord's Titanic sways. The lord's job is to hunt homosexuals, jail them and enforce corrective violent therapy. Cecilia Suarez does not talk like her "House of Flowers" character because she is beautifully channeling a mother worried for her free-spirited son whose desire to escape is also hers. Carmen Maura is a killer played by a "killer". The three boys enticed in their own individual manner. The dancer showed us his moves and impressed. The director shot his ass and it was magnificent. Daddy looked younger without clothes. There are potholes. The boys relationship could use better clarification. Why were they friends? Exter Esposito is still divine. Manolo Caro develops powerfully diverse characters and then punishes them. This time it worked. 19-Oct-2020
Haunting of Bly Manner (2020-)

It takes us to the same places so many times that we can figure out its outcome. I wondered if surprises would have popped more often if told in sequence. I understand that black women don't want to be maids but the commitment level for a realistic character needs to make sense. You don't wear designer clothing to clean a mansion. The mop was taken away from the maid and passed to a child and the vacuum didn't really stay on. How the fuck did she clean a mansion all by herself? Very good performances keep it chugging but the art hits the wrong part of the brain. The lesbians finally have their "Titanic." Hooray! 17-Oct-2020
S1E2. The premise is hauntingly decadent. The bullshit has been cast aside to allow the mystery to breathe. Victoria Pedretti as the caretaker of cuties doesn't stifle, always persists and treats the children to a fantasy world of security. The babies are made of sunshine overexposure and creepin' fuckery. T'Nia Miller's character is, so far, underwritten but her soliloquies are ardent. Henry Thomas is putting his superior experience to use. Before I realized it was him I thought it was Colin Firth. Good job, my boy. As soon as Miss Gugino enchanted a wedding party into partaking in a nine hour drunken haunted folk story, she had the upper hand. She slithers her words to make women uncomfortable and make men wet. It's not as complicated as the other one made itself and I trust it. 12-Oct-2020
Dick Van Dyke Show, The (1961-1966)

S4E23. Girls Will Be Boys. The Petrie boy is being bullied by a girl. Mama ideation triumphed in getting him to open up and supported him in his hurt but it didn't solve the problem. The violence continued even with parental interference. Sexual identity was contemplated, a boy's role in the world was catapulted and the talent was given the opportunity to portray gender conflict with laughter and honor. Daddy Perfect Hands believes boys shouldn't hit girls. Daddy Perfect Hands grows tired of the dainty threat and instructs his son to pummel her. It was resolved with sexual harassment. Equality. 15-Aug-2020
Brilliant mad men and women. 30-Jun-2020
Ramy (2019-)

Allah looks away when a buddy relieves another of sexual frustration. Ramy is comic bullshit revolver. 04-Aug-2020
If worshipping a peaceful philosophy turns followers into demented and confused sex maniacs maybe the parents are right. It's better to forget it.
Sister showcased in an episode dealing with how cultural history can cure an unhealthy fact with witchcraft.
Mama pulled the brakes on her episode to bring attention to how we punish the people we fight for. The pressure for them to understand us negates who they are. They don't know us. Mama brought the hope, the wreck and the smarts. 02-Aug-2020
Moving your heritage forward when the rigidity of spiritual devoutness devours the best gifts in life. It respects as much as it questions, it upsets as much you care. The laughs are far to come but land uproariously. It paints the truth and enforces it. 07-Jan-2020
Flipper (1964-1967)

My childhood babysitter and educator. I was two years old when I started watching. It brought sunshine to my quarantine and provided safety through aquatic adventure. A single man in charge, raising two boys with self reliance, love of environment and respect for girls. That's sweet. They twink and survive despite the shortcomings of mostly socializing with nature and as a child I appreciated that. Flipper is a marvel mostly because he was the adorable pet that didn't pee or poop on your carpet. He was portrayed mostly by females with remarkable underwater scenes and perfected animal training. The sound effects are classic recognition. Women helped write and created a diverse set of women in charge. It's a dreamy place to live and it helps lull me to sleep. Brian Kelly was bad news to a gay child. Daddy distraction. 28-Jul-2020
Stateless (2020)

A woman running from privilege and crippling family expectations, an immigrant daddy breaking all the rules so his family can taste freedom, a daddy enforcer justifying the cruelty of his position and the family he needs to provide for and a woman in charge drowned by logistics and empathy. Everyone looking for a state that will unleash them and love them.
The immigrants leave a torturous country to protest in the land of sanctuary.
Yvonne Strahovski whacks insanity into our heads until she/us can't take it. Jai Cortney daddy hulks with great emotion. Rachel House nails scary bitch. The colorful cast represents with dignity.
Well thought and gruffly executed to punch a message through. "Just one of you have to matter."

Dead To Me (2019-)

All coincidences aside, its power resonated from the word, the emotion and the performance. Ms. Applegate rocketed to combustion. Good job. 20-May-2020
I was riveted by Christina's triumph in irritation and kickback, profiling an uneventful marriage founded on the success of falsehoods. James Marsden illustrates the beauty of an asshole. 30-May-2019
One Day at a Time (2017-)

I will always have affection for these people but I truly hope they find that thing this season lost. 04-May-2020
S4E3. E1 and E2 had me worried. It was loud and high strung in celebration of a second chance, feeling like a parody of itself. Episode 3 brought masturbation realness and hilarity, peak character delight and mama diva (Moreno) steal moments. The hardest I've laughed all year. 10-Apr-2020
All about relationships. Gracias. 03-Mar-2019
Motivating argument about the rules modern life coerces. Proficiently displayed, adoringly regarded and stamping the sitcom with the purpose TV forgot. 13-Feb-2019
Justina Machado is excellent and Rita Moreno embodies everything we miss about a Golden Girl. They've added superior daddy squish and the support is amiable reinforcement. Cheers. 01-Mar-2018
At first glance, you are inclined to think that this is an exploitation of a classic and respected series with token latino stereotypes. By the fourth episode you realize that it chose this community to depict because it needs updating the most and it feeds right into the original's claim. It's hard raising a latin family when the men are scarce and the women try to empower themselves at the cost of tradition. There are times you will be transported to all those arguments Lear presented between classic characters, fair to each but being persistent that the last word goes to the changing present. Justina Machado plays Penelope Alvarez with the same amount as distraught, parental overprotection and survivor's challenge that Bonnie Franklin's Ann Romano did. Rita Moreno's accent is old fashioned pastiche but she is a full character, beloved and is having a helluva time making us laugh. The kids aspire for realness instead of cute and Schneider is cute without the creep. 30-Jan-2017
After Life (2019-)

Still depressed, funny and sweet. Its heart grew wider. 01-May-2020
Gervais profiles the catabolic generation and spins their sadness into comical whimsy. He is perfect denouncing life and burning it. It's a reality few can see. It talks maturely about aging, death, suicide, loneliness and contempt for the life that bore it. (Ricky's witticisms are wicked clatter.) 17-Feb-2020
Bad Education (2020)

The face of the righteous has a melting soul.
Hugh is big daddy, fulfilling a demanding feat. He teases us with his nice boy swag, making us feel comfortable, ripping layers and gnawing at his mentality. He floors like a man realizing his obsession is a sick heart aching for love of any kind.
Janney's gift is to steal acts, to be good or to be great. She is all.
Ray Romano is the grand daddy of kvetch, owning it with common sense and delivering it like a real person.
Geraldine Viswanathan displayed the smarts and determination the character needed.
The support was a menage of cultural brilliance.
Awkward, tricky and... bam!
(Society builds too much pressure in people.)

Little Fires Everywhere (2020)

Washington ached, Witherspoon gutted, daddy Jacks wrecked and the children revolted. The writing did not relinquish the exasperation caused by raising a family by impossible standards. Blanching racism with hypocritical correctness does not a solution create. The most difficult job on the planet is being a mother because every mistake, detracts years of happiness from their children's future. Good job. 22-Apr-2020
A mother's lifelong conundrum is why their kids don't want to be here. (I know! The world you brought us into sucks and you don't allow us to talk about it.)
A mother is always a better parent to someone else.
Reese's contentious rejection of her daughter's sexuality induced audience shudders of deviant delight.
Kerry Washington held her own with her child confrontation and then exploded into Olivia Pope during her court scene. Nice.
The racism resonated, the angst maturely handled, everyone glowed, everyone spoke and I listened. 15-Apr-2020
A young Mia and Elena are introduced with a backstory strong enough to hold its present walls. Young Elena struggles to convey Reese but only because young Reese has been downloaded to our memory banks. Young Mia is studious, observant, respectful and an uncanny joy because she's a pitch and tic perfect Kerry Washington that elicits the heart that older Mia lost. Writing was solid. 09-Apr-2020
A mama cold war, a class distinction an intellectual race riot. It theorizes that women only need to act like a mother to push the children through life. It states that racism's hypocrisy, sensitivity and overreaction will never mend it. The children are at a loss serving as parental investments of an unsettled future while practicing what they learn from them as much as what they hate.
Kerry Washington threw her TVQ out the window to portray a most questionable mother with a permanent scowl on her face, a confrontational outlook and some sort of mental instability. Witherspoon is the mother whose charity she thinks will excuse her parental ditto. She peels enough layers to inform us that she rationalizes that racism is wrong but the safety of her family comes first.
The baby drama is the new focal point and it may be its drawback. The coincidence was grand and mama Mia had no business offering a co-worker, who abandoned her baby, money that would have been better suited for her own daughter. It makes her hard to like.
It's nagging, addictive and igniting. 26-Mar-2020
