Man Apologizes Before Shooting Dog In Front Of Children
The Dallas Police Department was looking for the man who shot a dog in the face in front of young children.
The Department said Friday that the unidentified man approached the children, aged between five and seven, near an apartment complex in Dallas on Feb.28. He apologized to the children before shooting the canine. He then took off on foot. The dog, a 9-month-old labrador retriever mix named Nolan, suffered a "major injury to his mouth."
Speaking to ABC-affiliated television station WFAA, Genola Vance, the dog’s owner, said the pooch followed her son and nephews who had stepped out to throw the trash. A few minutes later, the children came back home screaming "someone shot Nolan!"

'These diets are bulls***': Viewers criticise How to Lose Weight Well for promoting 'fad' slimming plans - including a liquid cleanse and one that only allows you a SINGLE meal a day
Channel 4's How to Lose weight Well has sparked anger from viewers for promoting 'fad diets'.
In the third episode, which aired on Monday night, Dr Xand van Tulleken and Dr Helen Lawal road tested the latest hyped-up diets including a 'visualisation' diet and a one-meal-a-day plan, on six volunteers.
Each slimmer tried a different plan, ranging from the 12 day 'crashers' and six-week 'shapeshifters', to the four-month 'life-changers'.
And while many of the participants saw dramatic results, viewers took to social media to slam the 'fad' diets as dangerous and not sustainable long-term.

This town in Greece is draped in thousands of spider webs
It sounds like a something out of a horror movie: A town covered in thousands of webs, each crawling with hordes of spiders.
But for residents of a town in Greece, it's a spooky reality.
In recent days, the webs have draped plants, trees and boats along the lagoon in Aitoliko, a town of canals that's otherwise known as Greece's "Little Venice."
Giannis Giannakopoulos noticed the "veil of webs" earlier this week and captured the spider creations with his camera.
Passengers Asked to Pee in Trash Bags and Bottles on This Flight from Hell
Last Friday, a woman on an American Airlines flight from Phoenix to Hawaii got up to go to the bathroom and was faced with a dilemma most people only deal with on poorly planned road trips or out on the deep playa at Burning Man. When she made it to the front of the plane, a flight attendant calmly told her that if she wanted to pee, she'd have to do so in a trash bag.
Parrot swears at London firefighter trying to rescue it from roof
A "foul-mouthed" parrot launched a four-letter tirade at a firefighter as he tried to rescue the bird from a neighbour's roof in north London.
Jessie's owner had asked for help after the multilingual Macaw parrot spent three days on the roof in Edmonton.
The RSPCA called in the London Fire Brigade (LFB) to rescue the bird.
Crew manager Atinc Horoz climbed up a ladder to save Jessie but was met with a volley of swear words from the parrot, which then flew off.
Fact Check: Is It Now 'Against the Law in California to Shower and Do Laundry on the Same Day'?
Recent blog posts made hay over two water-related bills passed in California, suggesting that consumers may now be fined for doing laundry and taking a shower on the same day.
California has a water problem—one so severe that Gov. Jerry Brown thought it prudent to sign two bills, Senate Bill 606 and Assembly Bill 1668, into law focused primarily on decreasing per-person water usage.

Airline 'asks mother to prove' relation to mixed-race son
Southwest Airlines has apologised after one of its officials asked a California basketball coach to prove that she was the mother of her bi-racial son.
Lindsay Gottlieb, who is white, and her fiance Patrick Martin, who is African American, were both present and showed the official their son's passport.
She says after showing his passport she was asked for further evidence through a Facebook post or birth certificate.
The airline said it would use the incident to "coach" employees.
Teens are eating laundry detergent for the "Tide Pod Challenge"
A government watchdog is expressing concern over the dangerous misuse of a laundry detergent. In this latest social media fad, teenagers are putting detergent pods in their mouths in what's being called the "Tide Pod Challenge."
Ingredients in the pods include ethanol, hydrogen peroxide and polymers – a highly-toxic mix of detergent meant to wipe out dirt and grime. Manufacturers have been concerned about toddlers mistakenly ingesting them, but now teens are popping them on purpose and posting videos of the results online, reports CBS News correspondent Anna Werner.
Nineteen-year-old Marc Pagan, who did it on a dare, told CBS News he knew better but did it anyway.
"A lot of people were just saying how stupid I was or how – why would I be willing to do that," he said. "No one should be putting anything like that in their mouths, you know?"
PENIS-WHITENING LASER PROCEDURE GOES VIRAL IN THAILAND
Updated / A Thai clinic more used to promoting cosmetic surgeries such as breast augmentation on its social media channels has gone viral for a less well-known procedure to change the pigmentation of the skin on the penis.
A Facebook post written by an employee of Bangkok’s Lelux Hospital promoting the procedure has received nearly 20,000 shares and more than 10,000 comments, mostly baffled or bemused, often tagging another person. The video uploaded with the post showed a man lying on a clinic’s table as the doctor seemingly performed the laser procedure and had been viewed more than 4 million times by Thursday.

Papa John's Distances Itself from Alt-Right Following CEO's NFL Comments
The chain has unwittingly corralled support from some groups on the far right. Now, it's doing damage control.
It's been mere days since Papa John's CEO John Schnatter blamed his company's sagging sales on plunging ratings for NFL games. On a call with investors last Wednesday, Schattner claimed that fewer people were inclined to buy pizza from Papa John's, the official pizza sponsor of the NFL, because of NFL leadership's inaction regarding the scores of athletes protesting within its ranks.
This led both Pizza Hut and DiGiornio—neither of whom, mind you, is an official sponsor of the NFL—to join the now-public conversation and respond that neither company had seen a dent in its sales due to consumer irritation with these protests.
Haribo Gummies Are Made With Slave Labor, Documentary Reveals
There are few foods capable of evoking a sense of childlike innocence and splendor quite like gummy bears. But because the world can’t have nice things, not even gummy bears are safe from shady business practices and ethical dilemmas.
Earlier this month, German media company ARD released a 45-minute documentary as part of its Markencheck (Brand Check) series that shed light on some shady practices in Haribo’s supply chain. Based on the evidence uncovered, the German confectioner either knowingly or unknowingly relies on de facto slave labor and animal cruelty to source the carnauba wax and gelatin that give its gummies their distinct properties.
Cafe busted for serving Popeyes
A cafe in Long Beach, California, called Sweet Dixie Kitchen, makes southern comfort food. The owner says most of the food is made from scratch but the fired chicken is from Popeyes. CNN's Anderson Cooper explains on the RidicuList.
GOP Lawmaker Says Emergency Rooms Should Be Able To Turn People Away
“I’m an emergency room nurse,” Black told MSNBC host Chuck Todd on Friday. “There are people that came into my emergency room that I, the nurse, was the first one to see them. I could have sent them to a walk-in clinic or their doctor the next day, but because of a law that Congress put into place to say, no, I have to treat everybody that walks into that emergency room.”
“You took away our ability to say, ‘No, an emergency room is not the proper place.’ And then, you put a burden on top of that to say, ‘You must do that,’” added the congresswoman, who is also running for governor of Tennessee.
At issue is the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act, which was signed into law by former President Ronald Reagan in 1986. It was a congressional response to stories of “patient dumping” ? hospitals would deny treatment to patients or send them elsewhere, usually because the individuals didn’t have insurance. Many of these patients were unemployed or were people of color.
Big Deal San Antonio Chef Calls Out Mario Lopez for Requesting Free Meal
Iron Chef Gauntlet contestant Jason Dady posted a curious note on Facebook earlier this week, hinting that a “certain celebrity” called his hot new San Antonio restaurant Range asking for a free meal in exchange for a social media plug.
Dady teased that if his Facebook post got 1,000 likes, he might spill the beans and, true to his promise, after a thousand fans showed their love, he dropped a GIF of Mario Lopez doing the splits on Saved by the Bell with the message: “Haters Gonna Hate, Slaters Gonna Slate.”
