Gay guys reveal the best part about being in an age-gap relationship
Age-gap relationships have always been a part of the gay experience.
From the Greeks to Ellen DeGeneres, gay and bi people have always connected across generations.
And while there is still some stigma surrounding them, many people form happy and healthy age-gap relationships.

Do gay men have a particular problem with getting older?
Are gay men particularly terrified of getting older?
None of us wants to get older and we’d all like to stop the clock if we could. But I’m beginning to wonder if gay men in particular struggle with ageing.
Now in my late 40s, I think my mental health is pretty good most of the time. For that I’m grateful. But when I look around, I see too many of my peers battling to cope. Struggling to the point of suicide.
Again, this isn’t just a gay problem. Despite the privilege we enjoy, men are disproportionately likely to die from suicide than women by a ratio of around 3 to 1. Some associate this with issues around masculinity: not talking about one’s feelings, and being too afraid or embarrassed to ask for help.
Combine toxic masculinity with homophobia (both internal and external), and it’s little surprise that gay men suffer from additional mental health challenges.
But this still doesn’t explain why I’m seeing so many gay men in their 40s and 50s in distress

Married Lesbian Couple Rejected From Senior Home
When Mary Walsh, 72, and Bev Nance, 68 applied to be residents at Friendship Village, a senior living community in St. Louis, they were rejected because they were married, reports the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
The couple, who had been together for nearly four decades, repeatedly visited the village and even dropped a $2,000 deposit. Their plans to move were cut short when an administrator sent them a letter that said, “Your request to share a single unit does not fall within the categories permitted by the long-standing policy of Friendship Village Sunset Hills.”

Judge tells Richard Simmons he can’t sue National Enquirer over transgender claim
L.A. Superior Court Judge Gregory Keosian tentatively ruled on Wednesday that he would dismiss Richard Simmons’ defamation suit against the National Enquirer and Radar Online.
Simmons filed a lawsuit against the publications in May for saying he was transgender and in the process of transitioning, a claim he denied in no uncertain terms while also saying he supported the LGBTQ community. As we noted back then, in order to sue for defamation the plaintiff must show damages to their reputation.
“While, as a practical matter, the characteristic may be held in contempt by a portion of the population, the court will not validate those prejudices by legally recognizing them,” Keosian ruled.
Grown Men Are Exploiting Loopholes In State Laws To Marry Children
Loopholes in state laws are allowing child marriage to flourish in the U.S., despite research showing that the practice puts young people at risk of serious, lifelong harm.
More than 200,000 children under 18 were married from 2000 to 2015 in the U.S., according to a report released Wednesday by the Tahirih Justice Center, a nonprofit organization working to end gender-based violence. The vast majority were underage girls who married adult men.
“America really does have a child marriage problem,” said Jeanne Smoot, author of the report. “It hurts children here, just as it does globally, and we are overdue to tackle it.”
While most states set a minimum age of 18 to marry, they typically allow exceptions if children have parental consent, or if a judge approves the union.
In recent years, advocates have lobbied for stricter laws on child marriage, with success. In 2016, Virginia enacted a law that limits marriage to those age 18 or older, with an exception for court-emancipated minors. This year, Texas and New York passed restrictions on child marriage.
