Firefighter allegedly set recovered SUV on fire because minorities may have driven it
A firefighter in Connecticut torched his SUV after it was recovered by cops because it may have been driven by minorities, police said.
Matthew David Bittner, a 38-year-old volunteer fireman for Stepney Fire Department in Monroe, is facing charges including first-degree arson and insurance fraud in connection with a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe that was registered to his girlfriend, the Connecticut Post reported.
The SUV had been initially reported stolen to cops in Monroe on Oct. 21. One day later, police in Bridgeport found the vehicle and released it to Bittner, who repeatedly told investigators he no longer wanted the stolen ride because he wasn’t sure where it had been, the newspaper reported.
The Supreme Court will hear 2 major cases about when religious schools can ignore civil rights laws
The Supreme Court announced on Wednesday that it would hear a pair of cases concerning the “ministerial exemption” to employment discrimination laws. Broadly speaking, the “ministerial exemption” provides that religious “ministers” are not protected by civil rights laws in their workplace — so a church could, for example, fire its preacher because the preacher is black.
North Carolina police officer fired for following the 'Billy Graham Rule,' lawsuit says
A North Carolina police officer is suing for religious discrimination after he said he was fired for refusing to spend extended time with a woman who isn’t his wife, a practice commonly known as the “Billy Graham Rule.”
Manuel Torres, 51, worked as a deputy for the Lee County Sheriff for five years when his boss asked him to train a female deputy in July 2017. Torres requested a religious accommodation, the suit alleges, saying he “holds the strong and sincere religious belief that the Holy Bible prohibits him, as a married man, from being alone for extended periods with a female who is not his wife.”
Torres, a Baptist who serves as a deacon at his local church, said in the suit that training his colleague would leave the appearance of “sinful conduct.”
Mario Lopez apologizes for 'ignorant' comments about parenting and gender identity
TV personality Mario Lopez has apologized for comments made during a recent podcast appearance in which he said it was "dangerous" for parents to allow their children to pick their gender identities at young ages.
"The comments I made were ignorant and insensitive, and I now have a deeper understanding of how hurtful they were," Lopez said in a statement to CNN. "I have been and always will be an ardent supporter of the LGBTQ community, and I am going to use this opportunity to better educate myself. Moving forward I will be more informed and thoughtful."
The former "Saved By the Bell" star made the remarks last month on a podcast hosted by conservative personality Candace Owens.
In the discussion, Owens brings up what she calls one of the "weird trends" of Hollywood parents allowing their children to pick their gender identity.
We need to stop telling people how to feel. We all have a right to an opinion and forcing ridiculous notions down sober people's throats isn't going to fix your children. We are supposed to guide our children into making the best decision not agree with it because it makes parenting easier. Geez, maybe he feels like a girl because Uncle Harry has been secretly diddling him. I wanted to be many things. Zero is the total that bled into my life. The more society makes people apologize for an opinion the more they will hurt us. This is all going to look ridiculous in the future when it blows in our faces. 31-Jul-2019
Bishop says if a pregnant woman enjoys anal sex, the baby will be gay
A bishop has claimed if a pregnant woman enjoys anal sex, this will transfer to the baby and it will be gay.
The shocking revelation came from The Most Reverend Metropolitan Neophytos (Masouras) of Morfou of the Church of Cyprus on Tuesday (23 July).
In a short video posted to YouTube, he said the lack of spirituality and knowledge of Christ and the Orthodox religion creates homosexuals.
And the ‘fault’ lies with the parents, who ‘pass on’ the ‘sickness’ of homosexuality, the bishop claimed.
Basically, when a woman enjoys anal sex or any ‘abnormal sexual contact’, ‘a desire is created, which is then transmitted to the unborn child’.

Baseball Team's LGBTQ Pride Night Featured Chick-fil-A, Sean Spicer
The minor league Pawtucket Red Sox delivered a double header in bad taste Friday night, giving out free Chick-fil-A and having a former Trump administration official throw out the first pitch on Pride Night.
Sean Spicer, President Trump’s first press secretary, tossed the first pitch, according to The Boston Globe. Spicer appeared as a representative of the Independence Fund, a nonprofit that serves wounded veterans.
The former press secretary made no reference to Friday also being Pride Night at the stadium, but critics noticed.
“The PawSox are having Sean Spicer throw out the first pitch on Pride Night. What an insult to all their queer fans,” wrote Longreads sports columnist Britni de la Cretaz on Twitter.
A Bishop Wants to Solve Gang Violence by Spraying Holy Water from a Helicopter
The weather report in Buenaventura, Colombia, calls for thunderstorms this Sunday. That is a bit unfortunate, since it may prove tricky to differentiate between precipitation and holy water falling from the sky.
That afternoon, on the Lord's day of rest, Monsignor Rubén Dario Jaramillo Montoya, a Catholic bishop in the city, plans to hop in a helicopter and soak what he has described as crime-ridden streets with the blessed liquid. The ritual was set to be part of a religious feast celebrating Buenaventura's patron saint. But Montoya's real hope, he told a local radio station, was to "exorcise all those demons that are destroying our port."

Porn deemed a public health crisis by Arizona politicians
Some legislators gave pornography a new title: public health crisis.
The Arizona State Senate voted Monday to declare pornography a public health crisis, but beyond stating such on their resolution, no further action is set to be taken.
The bill states that "pornography perpetuates a sexually toxic environment that damages all areas of our society," proceeding to list that "potential detrimental effects on pornography users include toxic sexual behaviors, emotional, mental and medical illnesses and difficulty forming or maintaining intimate relationships."

This Mom Asked Guests to Pay a Cover Fee at Her Daughter's Birthday Party – Sorry, but Nope
I've thrown a handful of birthday parties for my kids so far, and I will be the first to tell you — they're damn pricey. For two to four hours of pizza, cake, and ice cream, you'd think they wouldn't break the bank, but I always end up spending more than I budgeted for and wondering if they're even worth the expense.
One thing I've never wondered, however, is how much to charge guests to attend. That's because the answer, without room for argument, is zero dollars and zero cents.
So it came as a complete shock when the Boston Globe's "Miss Conduct" advice column was hit with an impossible scenario: a mom has been making guests pay a cover charge to attend her kid's birthday parties.
"Every year, she charges people to come to her daughter's birthday party," an anonymous friend of the mom wrote. "If it is at a venue, the e-mail will say something along the lines of 'please bring $20 to cover the cost of your child.' If it is at her home, there will be an envelope or basket asking for 'donations.' They're not poor."
Academic claims she's discovered anal suppository 'cure' for homosexuality
A Kuwaiti academic claims she discovered an anal suppository ‘cure’ for homosexuality.
Mariam Al-Sohel appeared on Scope TV to explain how her gay cure medicine based on Islamic prophecy works.
‘I discovered therapeutic suppositories that curb the sexual urges of boys of the third gender,’ she said. ‘As well as the fourth gender, which is butch lesbians.’
The ‘third gender’ is feminine gay men, according to Al-Sohel.
She then continued: ‘This is all science, so there’s nothing to be ashamed of.
‘The sexual urge develops when a person is sexually attacked. And afterwards it persists because there is an anal worm that feeds on semen. It feeds on sperm.
‘So what I did was to produce suppositories, which are to be used by certain people at a certain time. It cures those urges by exterminating the worm that feeds on sperm,’ she said.

Anti-gay GOP ex-congressman Aaron Schock photographed making out with another man at Coachella
The GOP ex-congressman whose sexuality was DC’s worst-kept secret has been spotted making out with another man at Coachella. Former Representative Aaron Schock who made a splash in the nation’s capital with his clothing choices, Instagram photos, and interior decorating choices, resigned after being accused of illegally using campaign funds to finance his over-the-top lifestyle.
Schock was a reliably anti-gay vote for Republicans, despite the parade of young men who visited his DC apartment, and his outing by journalist Itay Hod in 2014. Hod claimed he had walked in on his male roommate and Schock showering together.
But the former Congressman is back on social media after moving to West Hollywood where’s he’s been spotted doing some of the most stereotypical gay things possible – hanging out in gay bars, posing shirtless with gay fitness junkies, and enjoying quiet dinners with other men.
