Jerry Falwell Jr.'s Christian University Welcoming Students Back to Campus Amid COVID-19
Liberty University, a private evangelical Christian university in Virginia, is welcoming students back to campus this week despite a little something known as COVID-19.
"I was on a conference call with other college presidents and representatives from private colleges, and we listened to what other schools were doing," president Jerry Falwell Jr. said in a statement shared to the school's site this week. "Many were throwing their hands up and saying they would just close and others were going to extend their breaks. At that time, we were on Spring Break, so we had time to work on it."
This process of choosing to "work on it" ultimately resulted in the decision to "get [students] back as soon as we can, the ones who want to come back."
A report from the Richmond Times-Dispatch noted that between a few hundred to more than 5,000 students were projected to be living in Liberty dorms as classes resumed this week. The majority of those classes have moved to online formats. Staff and faculty, however, are said to be coming to work in their usual capacity.

Calls for Wendy Williams to be cancelled are renewed after catfish victim is mocked on air
Ben Shimkus was the first person to reveal that he had been catfished by Sherry Pie, also known as Joey Gugliemelli, a contestant on the current season of RuPaul’s Drag Race. “I have a weird story to tell about Sherry Pie,” Shimkus opened a Facebook post with two weeks ago.
If that’s not difficult enough, Shimkus has now become the punchline of jokes for tabloid shows and comedians. Yesterday, Shimkus took to writing about his experience in a GayCities article.
In the clip that Shimkus refers to, comedian and personality Michael Yo discussed the controversy around Sherrie Pie in a segment of The Wendy Williams Show known as ‘Inside Scoop.’
Yo tells host Wendy Williams and the audience of the syndicated talk show, “So this Ben guy, said that Sherry Pie catfished him, said she was a casting director, would send emails to him, back and forth, getting him to do lewd things…like masturbating on audition tapes. Is that lewd enough for you?”
“I mean, why didn’t these people do research?” Yo asks about the catfishing victims. “I’m not blaming them, but they’re young, the guys are young – they’re 23, 24 years old, trying to get their big break…so, man, but you have to do the research.”
Williams and Yo also giggle about the name of one of Sherry Pie’s fake movies that he pretended to cast for, “Bulk”.
In his article, Shimkus talks about how Yo told the story incorrectly in a “dismissive and vapid” segment
THE JOHN WAYNE INTERVIEW THAT CONTINUES TO OUTRAGE PEOPLE TODAY
Snopes.com cites chapter and verse of the interview published by Playboy Magazine in its May 1971 issue. In those days Playboy had a certain reputation not only for photography, but also long-form interviews that tried to get beneath the surface of the individual in question. Wayne gave them ample opportunity. One of the questions asked if Wayne felt any empathy toward Native Americans — termed Indians in those times — so often portrayed in his films as villains. Wayne's response:
"I don't feel we did wrong in taking this great country away from them, if that's what you're asking. Our so-called stealing of this country from them was just a matter of survival. There were great numbers of people who needed new land, and the Indians were selfishly trying to keep it for themselves."
In a 1971 interview with Playboy magazine, Wayne admitted he didn't like African-American people (or "the blacks" as he constantly called them) being in charge of anything because white people are apparently the only people who know what they're doing. As he said in the interview, "I believe in white supremacy until the blacks are educated to a point of responsibility. I don't believe in giving authority and positions of leadership and judgment to irresponsible people." He also railed against black people getting too many opportunities. He felt that "Hollywood studios are carrying their tokenism a little too far," and that minorities should only get roles meant for them. Like slaves — Wayne actually claimed to be inclusive because he "had a black slave in The Alamo." To that, you might say, "well, it's a start," but honestly, it's not.

SEXUAL ‘CLEANSING’ Iran is forcing thousands of gay people to have gender reassignment surgery against their will or face execution
“The ayatollah’s are seeking to eliminate homosexuality by pressuring or forcing gay men to undergo gender reassignment surgery to make them ‘women’.
"Some gay men agree to become trans women to protect themselves from prosecution and execution when they have sex with men.
"They don't want to be trans but fear being hanged if they don't transition.
“Iran’s policy of encouraging gender reassignment has nothing to do with supporting trans people.

Florida Teacher Confronts Fifth-Grader on Gay Rumors in Front of Class
A Florida teacher confronted a fifth-grade student about her sexual orientation in front of her classmates.
The instructor at Northport K-8 in Port St. Lucie — whose name has not been reported — grilled the student in the classroom last week about rumors circulating the school that she was dating another girl, reports WPTV, a local NBC affiliate.
"She asked them if they were together if they were dating as a couple together, and she asked them in a way that they felt they were in trouble," said Jezenia Gambino, the mother of the fifth-grader.
Christian pundit says that Trump is “just too much of a man” for LGBTQ people
Failed Republican politician and minister E.W. Jackson has finally figured out why the left doesn’t like Donald Trump: he’s “just too much of a man for them.”
He said that Trump’s manliness is too much for the “the radical feminists, the homosexuals, the trangsenders, whatever bizarre idea they have of who we’re supposed to be” on the left.
“They’re not putting up with men who stand tall, who stand up straight and say, ‘Look, this is who I am, this is what I believe, you can like it, or you can lump it, but there it is,'” he said.
Jackson went on to compare Trump to former President Barack Obama to prove his point.
“Obama was effete,” Jackson said. “Obama was light in the loafers,” he added, using a common expression for gay men.

Firefighter allegedly set recovered SUV on fire because minorities may have driven it
A firefighter in Connecticut torched his SUV after it was recovered by cops because it may have been driven by minorities, police said.
Matthew David Bittner, a 38-year-old volunteer fireman for Stepney Fire Department in Monroe, is facing charges including first-degree arson and insurance fraud in connection with a 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe that was registered to his girlfriend, the Connecticut Post reported.
The SUV had been initially reported stolen to cops in Monroe on Oct. 21. One day later, police in Bridgeport found the vehicle and released it to Bittner, who repeatedly told investigators he no longer wanted the stolen ride because he wasn’t sure where it had been, the newspaper reported.
The Supreme Court will hear 2 major cases about when religious schools can ignore civil rights laws
The Supreme Court announced on Wednesday that it would hear a pair of cases concerning the “ministerial exemption” to employment discrimination laws. Broadly speaking, the “ministerial exemption” provides that religious “ministers” are not protected by civil rights laws in their workplace — so a church could, for example, fire its preacher because the preacher is black.
North Carolina police officer fired for following the 'Billy Graham Rule,' lawsuit says
A North Carolina police officer is suing for religious discrimination after he said he was fired for refusing to spend extended time with a woman who isn’t his wife, a practice commonly known as the “Billy Graham Rule.”
Manuel Torres, 51, worked as a deputy for the Lee County Sheriff for five years when his boss asked him to train a female deputy in July 2017. Torres requested a religious accommodation, the suit alleges, saying he “holds the strong and sincere religious belief that the Holy Bible prohibits him, as a married man, from being alone for extended periods with a female who is not his wife.”
Torres, a Baptist who serves as a deacon at his local church, said in the suit that training his colleague would leave the appearance of “sinful conduct.”
Mario Lopez apologizes for 'ignorant' comments about parenting and gender identity
TV personality Mario Lopez has apologized for comments made during a recent podcast appearance in which he said it was "dangerous" for parents to allow their children to pick their gender identities at young ages.
"The comments I made were ignorant and insensitive, and I now have a deeper understanding of how hurtful they were," Lopez said in a statement to CNN. "I have been and always will be an ardent supporter of the LGBTQ community, and I am going to use this opportunity to better educate myself. Moving forward I will be more informed and thoughtful."
The former "Saved By the Bell" star made the remarks last month on a podcast hosted by conservative personality Candace Owens.
In the discussion, Owens brings up what she calls one of the "weird trends" of Hollywood parents allowing their children to pick their gender identity.
We need to stop telling people how to feel. We all have a right to an opinion and forcing ridiculous notions down sober people's throats isn't going to fix your children. We are supposed to guide our children into making the best decision not agree with it because it makes parenting easier. Geez, maybe he feels like a girl because Uncle Harry has been secretly diddling him. I wanted to be many things. Zero is the total that bled into my life. The more society makes people apologize for an opinion the more they will hurt us. This is all going to look ridiculous in the future when it blows in our faces. 31-Jul-2019
