Thing From Another World, The (1951)

Causing terror with good old fashioned Hollywood techniques. The film reboots beautifully because it's brilliant. They delivered a completely terrifying story and trusted the audience to use their imagination. 03-Dec-2019
Extraterrestrial (2014)

Someone breaks the peace treaty America made with the aliens by attacking them. The aliens are everything history imagined, the scares are chilling and the relationship held interest. Too bad the characters had to talk. 01-Dec-2019
Terminal Man (1974)

Adding a computer to a killer's brain was supposed to rehabilitate him. It was progressive. It had a prominent female doctor and a black magician's assistant.
Joan Hackett was an accomplished Sarah Paulson without the amount of accolades.
George Segal was dumbfounding, cringingly stamping the mediocrity evident in the poor treatment of a great story. 22-Nov-2019
Animas (2018)

Friend of a friend starts experiencing supernatural episodes after her friend starts dating. For the majority of it, it follows typical horror terrain where nothing makes sense and the end is sure to be crappy but when they explain it, it all falls into place. 15-Nov-2019
Phantoms (1998)

A concoction of horror and sci-fi that dance when married. 01-Nov-2019
Invaders From Mars (1953)

To watch this film you have to tap into your child and understand the limitations of its time. It gets to business almost immediately, all is accepted at face value and good and evil hold to their lanes. It has a great start and there are enough influences to accommodate its art but the martians are silly. 10-Oct-2019
Halloween Tales (2017)

A concoction of leftover ingredients that can't fill a tummy. 01-Oct-2019
Stay Alive (2006)

You lose respect as soon as they kill the best visual effect from the cast and after they break the rules they established. 30-Sep-2019
Aniara (2018)

It's a post apocalyptic climate change resolution that speaks in a tongue that isn't closed captioned. 29-Sep-2019
My Little Eye (2002)

It's all vegan undernourishment until the end where the meat and potatoes are served. 15-Sep-2019
Stitch! The Movie (2003)

The formula quickly evaporates. It's title elicits more excitement. 29-Jun-2019
Matrix Reloaded, The (2003)

Amped up but incomplete. 12-Jun-2019
Final Destination (2000)

Existing past your designated time. The beginning of the math kill. 19-Mar-2019
Dead Night (2018)

It bares its fangs early eliciting high wriggling expectations until bunk takes a seat and shits all over it. 18-Feb-2019
Halloween (2018)

Devoid of purpose, study and reverence. The psychology of Laurie Strode was as an empowered victim that elicited strength from catastrophic violence. She's not Sarah Connor and she wouldn't burden a child with her horrid mythology. The holiday wasn't nostalgic and the nods to Hitchcock (who's that?) were extinct. Hallmark movies concoct bigger frights. 08-Feb-2019
