And Now The Screaming Starts (1973)

Abrupt editing and tacky effects sour a spooky tale. Virgin bride moves into castle with a family curse. The secret only intensifies because anyone who divulges it perishes. Bride has visions of a severed hand and a man with hollowed out eyes. The hand showed up in peculiar places with violence its main purpose. Bride's visions are only realistic to her. No one sees what she experiences. A professor of mentality is hired to calculate and treat her paranoia. The script doesn't linger analyzing the character's actions and the actors don't assert like the majority of the people would. The camera silently presents faces grandly emoting as thoughts. The secret sounded more devastating than was presented. I didn't know you could inherit a scar, trashing a relative's grave is cathartic and that women screaming during a 30 second fuck was normal. 14-Jul-2026
Hamnet (2025)

A supposition of how a master artist was inspired to create a classic play. Ms Buckley masters riveting. It only takes a manner of minutes before she blows us away. A beautiful guttural actress. Mescal was passionate and romantic stuck in a dreamworld that paralleled his own without the magic or the hope. Zhao was efficient with feet planted on the ground and her head looking upwards. An uplifting end falters because it relied on mythical belief instead of the realism it suggested. 11-Jul-2026
Project Hail Mary (2026)

I zigzagged to the point of disappointment. The sun will cease to exist in 30+ years unless somebody figures a way to save it. A science professor that treats his students like he's Barney is earth's only hope. Sandra Huller takes charge of the project and our attention. Once the basics were revealed the flashbacks destroyed my belief. An ordinary man is tasked with saving a humanity that lacks it. The flashbacks did not move the concept forward. The rock gave me pause but I relented because Mr. Gosling was in supreme mode. I ended up resenting it and it's lack of imagination. I had a pet rock as a kid and nothing good ever came of it. I lost it when somebody threw it at me and I began to bleed and scream. The main character is the least descriptive because he was cast as a loner who had nothing to live for. Beauty has no connections? Odd. Huller's character was diminished by a lack of side story. The karaoke characterization spoke of a different spirit not evolved. For some odd reason, I kept comparing it to Armageddon but decided that was impossible. I enjoyed Armageddon. 05-Jul-2026
Ready or Not 2: Here I Come (2026)

It felt like a TV sequel of a film. The silliness tired and the action stall tactics were irresponsible. It was an unrealistic interruption to dire situations and it happened often. The sisters had a dynamic but it relied on harping about the same subject whose urgency no longer mattered. Change the subject. The film kept going around in circles which didn't help with sleep. The cast were in a fun movie I wasn't privy to. I think I stayed because I wanted to see Ms. Weaver get clean. She did and it was the only gift. 03-Jul-2026
Avatar: Fire and Ash (2025)

Magic is dissipating but beauty remains the same. 02-Jul-2026
Pillion (2025)

Subservience in a relationship obtains power by letting another decide one's fate in it. A master's strength is holding a position that intimidates without absorbing the frailties that can make a heart break. Love is the rarity that dissolves that type of union. The film pensively explores two men defying normality and denying the truth. Mama sheds light, the mannequin delivers and the son wakes up to a fitting end. 26-Jun-2026
Send Help (2026)

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the shot of Dylan's butt. It was just as expected. Knightwing be damned. 15-May-2026
It was a mixed bag. The story depended on actor magnetism and camaraderie. Dylan and Rachel outmaxxed their credit. When does a character become an actor's most iconic? When it suits them. Splashes of originality can't negate that it's not really a horror movie but a parody of ethics. Sloppy employee becomes stranded on an island with a wounded boss that refuses to promote her. A battle of the sexes ensues. The battle for survival is glossed over. A survivor in the making does not inherit skills so easily without some background and yelp. She learned all this from Youtube? The only way a woman can control a man is if he is unstable and there is no one else around. The coincidences were great choices that were parodied instead of being treated as dramatic arcs. The refrigerated salvation gave me poppy shudders. WTF? The biggies may have stepped out during it because that felt out of place. 15-May-2026
Remarkably Bright Creatures (2026)

I liked it, I really liked it. Please don't tell Mikey. 13-May-2026
Marty Supreme (2025)

Ambitious perfection. 05-May-2026
Wuthering Heights (2026)

Fennell is a diva whose use of instruments compliment her. Margot's Catherine is an untamed delicacy that can't sit still. Elordi's naughty edge was electric. Together they roar through an often told tale, commanding emotions as it rolls along. The movie is rustic, challenging and sexually explosive. Everything seems out of place except for the truth that romance is devastating. 03-May-2026
Good Boy (2025)

The dog said, "get me outta here!" whilst the humans yelled "WTF?!!!!!," just for the hell of it. 02-May-2026
It is disconcerting to think of a dog living in darkness for a good portion of its life. There were no lingering impressions that the dog was ever comfortable. Though the idea of a dog's view of a haunting is fresh and experimental, there were too many shadows to cast a good light. Even though Indy was brilliant his light should have been shared otherwise we are to think that our pets don't see us. I wanted to hug it. The scares don't cling to a mythology of substance but having a baby experience them gave it a protective chill. Effort exists but I understood the dog better than the haunt. 02-May-2026
Bugonia (2025)

I appreciated the concept but I have no idea what planet this movie is from. Nutter kidnaps executive because he thinks she's an alien. A cousin is his Frankenstein sidekick. The actors wrecked, the bumbling idiots had no solid plan, the cop was unnecessary, and I wished everyone was in a cohesive movie. The hype doesn't allow me to play along because the outcome is obvious. When the embroidered sacks appeared I went into hysterics. If I had been in a theater I would have had to run out before I got thrown out. Stitched rope. LOL! 01-May-2026
Panic In Year Zero (1961)

Family of four with a trailer and a teen dream set out on a camping trip. Nuclear explosions greet them on the road and they lose contact with the world. When the family find out it is war circumstances drastically change. The world doesn't bond as expected because all they want is to control their unit. Violence becomes a given, men become rapey, young girls are dangerously aromatic and daddy has to kill. It's a B movie with resonant survival skills. #1. Protect women. 2. Become violent. 3. Buy guns ammo and gear. 3. Gather food and shelter. 4. Get out of the situation you are currently in. 5. Create a home and a fortress. 6. Kill anyone that disagrees or has no conscious. 7. Trust no one that has not been victimized. 8. Kill all the bad ones! 21-Apr-2026
Dust Bunny (2025)

A blockbuster that should have been. I hopped onto the camera as soon it started to move. "Kill Bill" is hired to assassinate a monster that may or may not exist underneath baby Wednesday's bed. Sigourney Weaver was intelligent, funny and enervating. It was a "bitch" howdy welcome. Aurora strapped the story onto her shoulders and it didn't weigh her down. She was chin to chest with Mads. The supporting players got their own space, story and admiration. The synopsis readied me to understand but didn't prepare me for the motion. Fuller is a bunch of masters imbued in one. I was so involved that I had to cancel my lunch date because I was too tired from staying up late watching it. I was that involved. 18-Apr-2026
Here Comes The Devil (2012)

It has elements of a horror masterpiece but the production couldn't pull it off. Brother and sister vanish during a walk and return strange. The girl's first period was further embarrassing because the brother had to witness it. Having mama and papa explain the awakening to each child made sense. More time spent on how the kids communicated before would have helped explain how they communicated after. No difference. Too close and too weird. Sex is a strategic element that titillated to no effect. Sex is responsible for all of it but is sideswiped by fear and hunger. Fear to offend and hungry to be accepted. There was no budget for answers so they hinted a lot. I couldn't marry the intro with the main part of the story but good use of lesbians. Why would daddy drag a business bag into a cave? The ending was a pinchable surprise. 17-Apr-2026
