As soon as Brendan's eyes opened wide and lit like a bulb, I knew the character's representation was safe. Withering is an earth occurrence and examining it won't kill us any faster. When you wither you have no other option but to reflect on your life and try to make amends to people that deserved your love. One of Aronofsky's best abilities is creating horror with mood, drama and raw emotion. As dark as his art is, he doesn't want to jumpscare, he wants to haunt. The main's routines, fears, lies, talents and regret are highlighted in shadows, realism and good writing. Fraser owns the fatsuit. When younger I thought him a most sad beauty. It's not the shape of a man but the soul. The cast support like a perfect theater troupe. Aronofsky is beyond facades. 20-Oct-2023

A mother who has dedicated her whole life to making sure her son could take care of himself are reunited after two years of studying and accomplishing. He's a doctor, now and engaged to be married. His fiancee is with him and he's brought her along to marry. The introductions are awkward, full of rich people manners that can't mask hate. The conversations are human. Mother expounds an opinion that changes their lives forever. The couple bicker about how much control the mother has over her son and the backhanded humiliation future wife receives. Sometimes he was right, other times she was and half the time, both were. The mother blames the fiancee's weakness as to why she needs to suffer in her world. She was horrible when no one was around and she never let them see her sweat in a dress. The jury flip flops as did I. Uncle was cute, old maid was tired, of course, she had a mansion to clean, dress and cook for and young maid's exit was fucked up. The birthday party was a topper. A boy learns the word slut from his mother. An orphan teenager and her polio stricken sister are adopted by a single mom and her 7 children. All is good until it's tragically not. Based on fact, the story follows the boy next door with a crush on a teen dream that tears his world apart. The aunt's brood are the product of perversion and horror. The abuse was horrendous enough to make you pull your hair out. Some of the scenes are oxygen intolerant. The boys/men faired better than the girls/women. The boys interpreted it as a sport while the girls/women dreaded everything. Had the aunt had Piper Laurie chops I would have shat my pants. Safe and artless. Teen dream did not give us more than was written but she was effective. The film works because when a monster has the power to influence one person, the whole community will join in. How does a child get help with that kind of force? Heartbreaking. 17-Jul-2023

A piece of art can be flawed, silly and gargantuan. My favorite moment happened when Master Cameron upgraded his past achievements, served them with pride and reminded us what we were missing. A gloriously perfect Spiderman movie? A master of science. 14-Jun-2023
It technically educated the watcher on how airports manage and simply pointed out the obstacles they confront on a daily basis. All-star cast do what they do best and delivered. Helen Hayes brought star wit, watt, robbery and reigned beyond the material. She was it's light, its dark and its favor. Maureen Stapleton's guilt was gut wrenching. Van Heflin was believable as a twitchy loser trying to cash into morality. Story is favored over action which makes us care for them more as the inevitable happens. Dean Martin gives a heartfelt performance, Lancaster was in charge. Bissett epitomized the soul of a woman that finally grew up. The big bad were not terrorists or hijackers it was one person with a gripe that life was unfair to. Split screens worked well, the cast was gung-ho, the soap tasted like strawberries and the saves felt like hope. 30-May-2023
Well-done horror camp concerning a teen babysitting a 12 year old with a crush. An invasion brings forth her motherly instincts and nicely shot panic. Madsen and Warburton were joyous. When the film jumps outside the box, it stalls. It stalls because it didn't have the nerve to enact the obvious. I would've screamed for that. 16-Mar-2023

The caretakers introduce the history, solicit emotions and let the creatures' magnificence, intelligence and adorability speak for itself. The baby Dumbos were so cute. 15-Mar-2023
A mother is left to fend for herself when her husband is called to duty. The building scares and the apartment is freaky. The actor/daughter was a happy accident. She was cute and alert. The lack of music created tension. Mother's home is crumbling, the war is raging, daddy hardly calls, little girl starts hallucinating, women had no power and she's losing her mind. The mother and daughter had natural reactions. The level of trust spiraled as mine did. Can she do it or is she fucked? The mother's parenting skills are questioned throughout. The scare jumps were surprisingly scary. The fight had guts. Did she really slap that child? If it was real, she didn't flinch. I see sheets with a different eye, now. Unique. 14-Mar-2023
All Quiet On The Western Front (2022)
The details identified were gratifyingly fresh. The movie is relentless from beginning to end, setting up the dreams of boys as they're woked into becoming men in a war that could have been avoided. The significance that war is not a boys game runs throughout. War creates toxic men and brave soldiers with hell in their dreams. The politics were presented with the right amount of exposure and clarity. I understood it. A great musical score minimizes itself so the story can sing. It sang with an orchestra. Deft hands aplenty and cheers. 21-Jan-2023
It's loud, expensive, unbelievable, daring, striking, slamming and has two super daddies that have much to say. Daddies from opposite sides of the revolution become hidden identity bffs with loads of heart and muscle to give. The white witch makes a return to the screen. She is half in charge and making daddies' lives miserable. She snatches a baby sister from a daddy's tribe and enslaves her to do her nails as she controls the other by giving him power to enforce the law without limitations. White Poppa controls the army and the audacity. I got lost in the world and accepted everything that defied because everything it conquered was so joyous. 20-Dec-2022
Eyes Of Tammy Faye, The (2021) 
It's cold on facts and quick with details. Two fascinating humans aligning to make the world a better place for themselves, remain enigmas. They let go of reality and rode a magic horse to success. Magic horses need lots of water so they steal some from neighboring lands. Lands dry up and competitors get suspicious. Jessica has brilliant moments when spiritually linked to the original but defaults to herself when Tammy Faye does nothing spectacular. There was no Faye spin on song or yell. Jessica completed a very difficult job. Andrew Garfield instantly reminded me of the Jim Bakker I thought I forgot. He was excellent. What happened with the kids? 13-Jan-2022

Individual dreams are sacrificed for family. A portrait of a Korean family starting anew in an Arkansas dump. Daddy has a farm dream. Mommy needs to feed her two children. A princess and a baby boy dearest. Grandma joins them later. Youn Yuh-jung is not a typical grandmother. She can't cook, not even cookies, smells like Korea but is free-spirited and loves to hug grandchildren. The borne Americans are vacant and unidentifiable. Will Patton's performance irked. He unleashed like Jim Carrey mocking the film he's in. Mom and dad never ignite but baby boy and grandma shook the hell out of a spice jar. 08-Oct-2021
