Susan Slept Here (1954)

Sexagenarian writer is gifted a teen juvenile delinquent as a Christmas present from the police department to inspire his next tale. The pretense is cute, the aspirations are undyingly noble, the actors are up to par but the tale dictates that daddy reject a mare for a goat. Nasty, dude. Debbie Reynolds was adorable, Dick Powell was sweet, everything was vibrant, and a feminist wave was woven but the consequences are uncomfortable. It is a good movie, though. 30-Dec-2020
Just Another Christmas (2020)

Once the lunacy takes a seat the Ground Hog Christmas motif finds its groove and its heart. Daddy wakes up every Christmas but doesn't remember anything he did all year. He wakes up to grown kids, a failed marriage, a mistress, three dogs and a few makeovers. He spends Christmas abhorring the man he has become and can't control. The family is loud and homey, the sentiments are sweet and the idea is respectful. Feliz Natal. 25-Dec-2020
Rock-A-Bye Baby (1958)

Starlet is knocked up by a Mexican bullfighter that she drunkenly married one day and literally died the next. Her career is on the upswing. Her next film is entitled "The White Virgin Of The Nile." With no recourse she turns to her childhood buddy and hometown slub to babysit her babies after secretly giving birth and whilst she makes the film. Jerry Lewis' exasperating talent is at half mast. When he lets loose we cringe, when he sings and curls his lip we bite ours. He won't let comedy be. He needs to smash it with babyface spasms and off-color perversity. He doesn't matter one bit. It's a beautiful film to observe. The music is light, the story is sweet and life was simple. Marilyn Maxwell exemplifies the Hollywood Goddesses of her time and the clothes accentuated her power. Connie Stevens was purity enchantment. It's a piece of candy I didn't want but I tried it and couldn't stop eating or talking about it. 20-Dec-2020
A California Christmas (2020)

A woman can't do everything. Rich Californians gobble up real estate so they can turn the future into an unscientific reality. Hot country girl can't maintain the farm, has an ailing mother and a spunky sister. Hotter rich player schemes to get her to sell him her home at an astronomical price so they can build malls or something. He infiltrates the cowgirl's pants by pretending to be a Mexican ranch hand. Hotter is a beautiful mix of Superboy eggs and Zac DNA. Whomever was in charge of casting needs to be hired for our next gay friendly Christmas preach. I don't want to see people like myself on a screen that I pay for. We want the people that God granted the gift of beauty to. He wants us to be inspired by his art. So we shall. This film pays homage to that. The music makes you want to see it again, the actors hee and haw pleasantly and chemistry kills stupidity. Ass hugging crotch enhancing jeans, hot old daddy servants, wenches, witches, lesbians, Mexicans... Manny and Ali as lovers would have been adorable. It's a crappy gorgeous joy ride. As soon as Superboy ripped a child out of a female vagina, I was in. 17-Dec-2020
My Best Friend's Wedding (1997)

Childhood friends discover they might have feelings for each other as "his" wedding approaches. Julia's star was astutely intoxicating. She reveled in being the asshole and compelled us to cheer when she realizes it. Cameron Diaz steals it by being the opposite of the woman that always gets the good man. She's adorable. If I liked girls I would eat her. The GBFF is of British cunt royalty. Its Rupert Everett, full of life and hope before the despair. Charming and cheeky he was the GBFF you can convincingly pass as a boyfriend and help your vibrator conjure up an image. Julia made me conscious of Dermot Mulroney's importance by the way she looked at him. She was studying him. I deduced him. He's the dick that looks great in Julia's glow and uprises when Cameron blows. He's that guy, she's that girl and she's that poor girl. The laughs are not a statement but a way of life, the romance is annoying but it's smart, people will never relate this way again and GBFFs don't last forever. The music made me float. 07-Dec-2020
Palm Springs (2020)

I wasn't going to review this film because the idea filled me with dread. It's Groundhog's Day in a cave inside of Palm Springs. Samberg is unrecognizable and semi-fuckable, Miliotic is an easy soft serve and Palm Springs is the Hellmouth. Everyone lives by a routine in which no designated time or responsibility is accounted for. Unless an earth shattering moment occurs the repetition rarely changes. The soft serves had a bond and shared some squishiness. The story is stolen from someone's heart. Its comedy is the brutality of living a life...for too long. 01-Dec-2020
A Cinderella Christmas (2016)

Romance is a concept. Love is that universal fantasy that can fix anything and achieve nothing. This film is an instructional manual on how an alpha can easily capture his sucker mate. It works for the sluts too. It's a fake luxury liner. Cinderella gains a selfish cousin and loses two step-sisters and an evil step-mother. She is now raised by an unconscious uncle whose stupidity is explained as a parental failure. The prince is a ginormous hairy butted banging bottom whose perfection was created from Jesus spit and is a representation of why women and twinks do video splits. If you can't recognize a person beyond a face mask you're full of shit. He expounds worship daddy constantly, celebrating the quantity of women beluga he's chipped. A Scooby Doo member is the fairy godmother, the men act like its an NFL recruitment session and the women compete to the death to get that middle cheerleading spot. The howls of orgasmic virgins drown out the Christmas bells and kill any sign of Christmas cheer. They want us to horn in but the prince's tights aren't tight enough. 29-Nov-2020
Valley Of Decision, The (1945)

Impoverished daughter takes a job working for the owners of the steel mill that controls the town and whom father blames for his employment injury. Money is money, a job is an opportunity. Following Greer Garson bumbling and excelling at her job was cute, funny and "I'm proud of her." When the giant Peck acknowledges her, the passion begins and the charisma rockets. The closer the maid gets to her new family the farther away she gets from hers. I expected the romance to be histrionic but it was pensive and borrowed from real life. Unfortunately, love is constantly interrupted by employment strikes, demands, shutdowns and the threat of violence. Jessica Tandy was delicious as the runner-up who pecks at the competition 'til the bitter end. The surprises were eventful, the director kept pushing it and the conclusion is what it needed. 24-Oct-2020
Rebecca (2020)

Lilly James never grows into the character of Mrs. De Winter, married to a beautiful giant with the power of entitlement and a haunted past. She's a bumbler who goes head to head with a stern HOH named Mrs. Danvers whose the only person in charge. Kristin Scott Thomas sinks her teeth into a classic character that was a delightful fright but whose persona has been abbreviated to a devoted staff member. The best manipulations are designated to other characters which kills Mrs. Danvers psychosis and grants Thomas no fun. The story has been fidgeted, the lush is unimpressive, the style is non-existent, James is not the woman for the job and Hammer is a pretty package with no clue as to how to play a rich gorgeous dick. I would have preferred to see Rebecca's story play out. Mrs. Danvers could have pined for her mistress while Rebecca crushed men's spirits. Missed opportunity for some classic lesbian fun and threesomes with the Hammer. 23-Oct-2020
Cast A Dark Shadow (1955)

Gigolo with big dick aspirations and doofy looks learns he can coast on rich seniors before the invention of surgery gave them a choice. He was the professional husband that made grandmas' heart's reel with the wet joys of becoming a princess again. When he misconstrues what a will is and adoringly sets his social security plan on fire, accusations, cover-ups, intrigue, psychosis, mystery, double-cross and an entertaining 90 Day Fiancee vibe without the hassles of passports or visas ensues. 01-Oct-2020
Guess Who's Coming To Dinner (1967)

White liberal tolerance is tested when daughter brings a black man home to marry. Sidney Poitier represented the culture as a man in love with a soul of a different pigmentation that he deserved to engage with. His idea for racial harmony and hopefully acceptance, was to lay the weight and fate of the marriage on white daddy's heart. The script was respectful and contemplative, hitting points from the heart and establishing strong voices for each character. Isabel Sanford hooted as the maid who has lost control of her household and the family she wove herself into. Katherine Hepburn's use of props and legend added quotes to her character, Spencer Tracy's suffering was real, Sidney Poitier had enigmatic charisma with everybody, Dorothy Houghton was a familial delicacy, Beah Richards was luminous and Roy Glenn was growling. It's greatest case isn't about racism but a parent's fear that their child is not choosing the safest life. My favorite speech is Poitier talking to his dad about who owes who. The father who demands payment and racial solidarity for the sacrifices of rearing him or the son who wants release for a choice he didn't make? The father may limit himself by being all about black but the son just wants to be a man. 26-Sep-2020
Anna Lucasta (1958)

Anna is the the daughter of father faith and sometimes antagonistic family. She turns to teen prostitution when her father kicks her out just for holding hands with a boy. Established and clawing her way through life she reaches a dead end and is granted one last opportunity to reconcile with family and hopefully marry a man with prospects. She is forgiven but never forgotten. Daddy is allergic to whores, goes into panic when his daughter touches him, drinks and hits anyone in disagreement and sabotages Anna's chances for happiness. Eartha Kitt purrs and roars like the exquisite feline of legend, Sammy Davis Jr. was seriously brutal and heartrending and the cast added vibrations to the words. No nonsense representation. 15-Aug-2020
Golden Blade, The (1953)

Arab tale about a magic sword giving the wielder a purpose. It cuts through metal and gay Superman (Rock Hudson) brandishes it. Piper Laurie (Carrie White's mother) exudes royal female liberation and useful beauty. She gets involved. Jafar is the big bad of Baghdad, the action is well choreographed and the production is fun. It has good thoughts on women and establishes men can't live by their swords. They break. The politics are outdated but who gives a fuck. Nobody likes shit on their popcorn. 13-Aug-2020
Desiree (1954)

Napoleon was so thirsty for power he siphoned it from women. Engaged to be married then dumped to marry someone else, Desiree is the woman whose might didn't impress him. Jean Simmons keeps us following but she doesn't grip the strength of the character until the end. Marlon Brando refused to depict the emperor as a short, hand in pocket, general bore. Brando concocts a Venom accent, swags in unforgiving outfits and mandates media attention. The film is beautiful with impeccable costumes, empirical sets and daddy galleries. Watching is as easy as hating social media. I was curious and enrapt but I had to search on Wiki what wasn't explained in the script. The bombast was great but who are these people? What I read was absolutely fucked up. I would have filmed that. 10-Aug-2020
Take Her, She's Mine (1963)

A child belongs to a parent for a little bit.
Daddy awakens to his daughter's "dishiness." Daughter has developed into virgin teen spirit bait. Sandra Dee tranquilizes, applying liberation, sexual frustration and obligation. She's the future princess men built castles for.
Daddy goes commando when she moves to college. Stating in a letter about feeling the fanny flutters and wanting to lose her virginity, daddy flies to her on demand, insinuates her roomies are "wetbedders" because they work late, upholds his politics, acquaints with international sex workers, runs naked and suffers from morality checks. He ignores his job, his wife and that other child. He was never a pervert...because he was Jimmy "fuckin'" Stewart.
Mr. Stewart opens his mind to new thinking and growing with the politics of sexual freedom, free speech and protest. When the camera and his technique meet, they click.
College is where politics are worn and sex explodes. The environment consisted of an army of wolves scratching and starving to eat some Red Riding Hood.
Audrey Meadows. She was so underutilized that I imagined her doing naughty things like fucking his best friend or renting other daughter out.
The music and esp. the songs, delighted with universal sounds. It borrowed from other cultures and uniquely respected them. I knew the songs and sang along because I was taught them at school. It helped me learn about a culture that I had yet to meet. It soothes the greeting.
Stewart dons the big guns for final agitation but silly chaos dilutes him. Can he stop a man from putting his daughter's flame out or return to the wife and that other sparkly one? Only another man can answer that. 30-Jul-2020
