A postwar generation that fought the enemy to insure that cell phones and toilet paper made it to the future. Respect for the law and its protection kept western towns reposed and progressive. Strangers would stop by with stories of city worlds, vast education and diversity. The contemptible came to cause a ruckus, crush everyone's dreams and takeover. Guns were a man's best friend because it was a contemptible's only friend. Death was also scientific in a world with very little of it. The rifleman assisted the Marshall by keeping people in line with threats, assistance, charm, height, beauty, and death. Death was an acceptable occurrence to be respected and expected. Even, the kids were savvy to it. You kill an animal for necessity, not sport. Death happens esp. in this town. Daddy longlegs was a widower, a rifle expert with a sweet boy whose devotion to daddy went beyond the screen. They heightened the father/son duo by being super. Connor was classic cowboy. The rifleman had gun skills, was a jean god, made money after every kill and was a fair man that allowed no one to fuck with his kid. They tell stories beyond the shooting. It had a contemporary mindset and there were plenty of useful life-lessons. Responsibilities of gun ownership included, when to point, shoot, run or put them down. 09-Nov-2023

It took two bachelors to add up to one Joe Millionaire. The original's historical "slurp around the world" was magnificence. My pecker picked the poor one until I got to know him then I switched. Tarzan hair is fun but he's such a pendejo. He has no sexual entitlement. Cowboy Cheeky is fuckable in a Chucky kind of way. He has a bubbly ass. In my day, they would have called the contestants, escapees from mental institutions. A desperate "housewife to be" decides to wear the same dress as another contestant. Neither chose to "rock" the shitty dress and left it up to the millionaire to decide which tacky slut filled it the least. It depends how gay the men are. The silences were as creepy as the perjury. The individuals allowed the worst to happen to them because they misconstrued social media's message of full acceptance. When danger is involved, you allow mental clarity to check in, not ask it to make you blind. It was an unintentional Halloween special that intrigued and horrified with no special thought. There is plenty for the eye to focus on but clarity is direly needed. I can't tell a robot from a human and I don't understand the waste of having robots enact when there are no humans in evidence. Also, we live in a Big Brother world where everything and everyone is followed and filmed yet they keep losing track of them though their technology is so advanced it can create humanistic automatons. I am only at the halfway point and Evan Rachel Wood and Thandie Newton have my attention but it better add up to something. 14-Nov-2016
The show reminds us that a good western goes beyond the scope of a gun, a horse and a landscape. We must care for the people who inhabit it and each story must propel the western setting.
The cast is united in encouraging diversity, empowerment and humanity. Merritt Wever bleeds butch and sarcasm on Mary Agnes McNue, Scoot McNairy is a bumbling Batman investigation sheriff and Jeff Daniels will separate your undies from your britches. Every single player grips the accent, brings great face and deploys cowboy strut.
The town may be run by women, but in order to survive it really takes a group effort.
I saw the finale twice and the big bang and heart swept me away both times. 10-Jan-2018

Incredible Journey of Meg Laurel, The (1979) 
The preach places us at the time but can't keep us there. If your message is strong enough, one speech is enough because the art should proclaim the rest. Lindsay is at her best when all is natural and intensive labor is involved. She doesn't hit all her notes but by then you're hooked on the star. Jane Wyman has no such weaknesses because she helped create art and is legend. 10-Aug-2017
"The Elizabeth McQueeny Story"
You'd think of nothing exciting when you hear Bette Davis and cowboys, unless she was pulling them (as she becomes one of them.) This episode is meant to be kind to her and she returns it. She's the guest star to a series that brandished established talent and they lent her the lens so she could show it off. It is vexing to realize that what the pioneers fought for is what we for today. Betty wins because she touches upon the art that made her great, serving up concoctions and fragrances that we celebrated and adds a new spin from a grander woman. She even dances for us and enjoys it. 29-Apr-2017
It was quiet, pensive and reverential. The characters crept, itched and bit into the souls of classic monsters and they never declined. If the story paused at the beginning of every season it never relented at season's end. The finale was a big bag of anticipative gifts. We welcomed Lily's (Billie Piper) relentless feminism and humanity; Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett) wolfing out; John Clare's (Rory Kinnear) heartbreak and compassion and the great Eva Green as Vanessa Ives turning her vicious on. Their was plenty of well choreographed action sequences and moments of beauty. A speck of Shakespeare and Dickens lingered haltingly to add haunt and poetry and Patti Lupone in any amplitude is always welcome. The "Tuesday" line was a sweet nod to Buffy and as a fan I savored it. 22-Jun-2016
