Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
I call myself erratic because I am. I presumed the group called themselves Queen because the lead singer was. Singer directs through a fog conveying no gay sensibilities or joy. He wasted high value entertainment opportunities. When Malek lip synchs he finds his Mercury but the act was teeth grinding. 09-Mar-2019
Hollow Child, The (2017)
Environment kidnap children and reverse the etiquette that keeps them aligned to parental puppetry. Most of the fun derives from nasty child. 25-Feb-2019
A Demon Within (2017)
Child is perceived being possessed by a demon because of sudden unruliness or she could just be a teenager. There are times that the act and the tech apply a heft that is worth a better story. Maybe it will play better in the future. 18-Feb-2019
Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom (1984)
It's excessively restless, exceedingly silly. The heroine is written to annoy which dooms the actress. Spielberg flourishes sporadically exercising comic mean boy violence as well as lost boy corn disorder. 18-Feb-2019
Devoid of purpose, study and reverence. The psychology of Laurie Strode was as an empowered victim that elicited strength from catastrophic violence. She's not Sarah Connor and she wouldn't burden a child with her horrid mythology. The holiday wasn't nostalgic and the nods to Hitchcock (who's that?) were extinct. Hallmark movies concoct bigger frights. 08-Feb-2019
Scarehouse, The (2014)
Ugly pointless lesbian female torture. Not my thing. 05-Feb-2019
Devils of Darkness (1965)
The ladies strike, big bad twirls and the rest is Hitchcock bargain basement. Our parents partied wild. 26-Jan-2019
Period of Adjustment (1962)
The utters of Fonda and Hutton chanted high. Tony Franciosa kept the octaves low and his charisma forward. John McGiver sets and Mabel Albertson resists becoming the in-law stereotype. They glorified it. Lois Nettleton steals it because she could.
Marriage is deemed a terror, everyone screams their heads off until a surprise gift changes it. It has a loud message but you can still hear it.
Unfortunately, George Roy Hill's absurdity didn't allow Tennessee to be tragic. It's what the writer did best. 03-Jan-2019
Santa Claus (1959)
The mind sizzles with filmic ideas but it rejects the flipping from good to evil. It's a concoction for idle thinkers. 26-Dec-2018
Don't Sleep (2017)
The irony of the title is that it took me 6 tries to complete because it kept knocking me out. There's pretty boy enthusiasm in front of the camera but behind, they couldn't scare a bird. 11-Dec-2018
Uglier than Chucky and Annabelle and coalesced with contemporary American horror bites. The absurdity compels hilarity. 10-Dec-2018
Bad Teacher (2011)
So mean that it renders the characters inhuman. 07-Dec-2018
Fist Fight (2017)
Instead of expounding on the challenges of education they blast the ridiculousness of adult immaturity. The overload of stereotypes swats the funny. 23-Nov-2018
Foxy Brown (1974)
The material doesn't spark but a slice of home and a plenitude of attitude make up for the pinch. Grier is gorgeous disciplinarian. 16-Nov-2018
Trash art elevated by high energy, cliche improvements, professional visibility (actors,) Alexandre Aja (director) and Nicotero's (make-up) enthusiasm. 08-Oct-2018
