The Nightmare Upstairs: Ty & Bryn (2026) 
Parental battle ensues when dad sticks his finger where he wasn't supposed to during a co-parenting visit. Mother battles with betrayal but the daughter was very explicit. Brother cries "me too" and daddy visits become a chore. Overreactions are stirred and trust in a family generation is lost. The professionals made it worse by not creating a solid program. Rulings had the children partaking in daddy visits that the kids vehemently refused. The kids become scared and decide to barricade themselves in the elder's bedroom. When the mother described flattening the food so it could fit under the door I rolled my eyes and they didn't come back. I would have left them there for a day then I would have run to the internet to figure out how to protect my family legally and bust their door down. Instead, she turned the computer on to entertain us. Didn't she miss her kids? Mother-in-law makes good points but is too matriarchal and ignorant of what men can do. There is a countdown to daddy finally talking but it's just a narrative love letter to his children. It baffles, confuses and can't answer any of the questions. Sympathy can't find a place when everyone is suspicious. 24-May-2026
It has elements of a horror masterpiece but the production couldn't pull it off. Brother and sister vanish during a walk and return strange. The girl's first period was further embarrassing because the brother had to witness it. Having mama and papa explain the awakening to each child made sense. More time spent on how the kids communicated before would have helped explain how they communicated after. No difference. Too close and too weird. Sex is a strategic element that titillated to no effect. Sex is responsible for all of it but is sideswiped by fear and hunger. Fear to offend and hungry to be accepted. There was no budget for answers so they hinted a lot. I couldn't marry the intro with the main part of the story but good use of lesbians. Why would daddy drag a business bag into a cave? The ending was a pinchable surprise. 17-Apr-2026
The camera substituting for the presence was a great idea. It unsettles whilst causing anticipation. The household consists of interracial parents having preference for their teenage son and or daughter. The gender divide was lightly explained and suffered from awkward dialogue that did not strengthen character purpose. The scares were organic but weren't enough to create a classic horror. The presence has no I.D. It meanders slowly on repetitive angst but it doesn't get to the heart of it. It was drama. The no character close-ups put me on edge. If they would have only added them for the climax it would have jumpstarted some fear. It was curious, well acted, unique and experimental. The ending fit. The ritual that is supposed to bring one back from the dead is in another language that is not translated until the end. Well, then why the fuck did it take so long? Unbalanced mother inherits 2 siblings, a hormonal teenager with wet problems and a mostly blind baby sister that has a need to be acknowledged. Boy wants to run with his sister but in 3 months he can do it legally. He just needs to put up with his foster mother's psychosis. The atmosphere is constantly tight. The actors delivered more than the script gave them. Gross is not a metaphor for fright, the ritual is not logical, the actions are less so, I didn't understand Ollie's diet and I didn't appreciate all the red. 28-Oct-2025
I tried reading the book of "Wicked" and found I couldn't latch on to an emotional core because it was too busy describing things. I remember a description of a clock that I couldn't imagine, irking me the most. I did not finish the book but I finished the movie. The movie played like an antsy child that won't sit. I wanted to admire all the technical work but it was too busy setting up the next song to have much impact. More dwarves, less songs equal better character development. I couldn't understand Elphaba's evil turn. I didn't know she was a PETA. Wouldn't Glinda be the sensitive one and a people pleaser? Why is she called good when she's so self absorbed? Erivo owns the part but is not given the opportunity to act. Her voice is great but I wanted more character depth. Grande impressed and scared the beejesus out of me when she delivered a Kristin Chenowith performance. Her mimicry was outstanding. It's cheerful, harmless and colorful but it's not Oz or Kansas. 06-Aug-2025
A dark tale told amongst frustration. I being frustrated that nothing interesting happens in between Lady Nic's breathing sessions. The characters needed more strokes and history to understand their motivations. Everything was a whisper, only the men lost it, direction had no distinct style and the banter was vacuous. Lady Nic fulfilled her duty and was fun to follow. Harris Dickinson was a good choice but there was too much psycho in his swagger. Antonio was the only actor allowed to emote pain and anger. He did it well. His outburst was what the rest of the film lacked. Energy. Cognizance was on dream mode. The reason men are toxic is because women can't orgasm without it. The resolution is simplified to fulfill the fairy tale agenda. It nulls the truth and its purpose. 07-May-2025

Naomi Scott created a character that was easy to understand and interesting to follow. The plot was basic. Many things seemed random. An out of the blue character always appears to explain the rules. The mythology is so vague that explanations became invalid. I still don't know what was real or not. I was committed because Ms. Scott was master tripping on emotions. I concocted many scenarios but I couldn't accept the smile thing (Joker thoughts), the mythology (not Buffy) or the scares (Terrifier-centric.) 09-Apr-2025
The atmosphere is chilling, the sounds creep and the actors are crude. FBI agent encounters said serial killer as a child but forgets. She has to find him before he kills again because she's an X-Men now. The agent is slightly psychic and heavily catatonic throughout except when she jolts awake to kick some butt. Sir Nicolas was doing his thing a la Toymaker. He was psychotic, abandoning and ridiculous. I didn't know if I wanted more of him or not. The film meanders depressively. The commonality between the agent and the serial killer is benign and hooey. Mumbo jumbo glues all the pieces together because most of it doesn't make sense. 15-Feb-2025
Late Night With The Devil (2023)
In order for the premise to thrive, the guests must shine. The little girl was inspired by the Scary movie franchise. The host had the most but was overshadowed by ponderous material. Support did not attempt to break a stereotypical shell to elicit empathy or further their characters. It didn't intrigue me, convince me or frighten me. (My mother wins most awesomemest possession of a devil in realtime.) It's almost impossible to recreate magic that only happens once in a lifetime. 22-Oct-2024
They couldn't follow up the original story so they made shit up. I wanted to see the devil fuck a jackal. In what Walt Disney world is that not possible? It took cues from The Nun without inhabiting what made the original Omen successful. Actors we cared about bringing a terrific book to life. A score that lives in my eternal memory. A director that defined it without judging it. Damien-Omen II's foreboding notes would have given the movie strength and fan base pleasure throughout, if they had thought to use it. 01-Jun-2024
If you want your black fiancee to dump you, seek comfort with your adorable ex whose a cop and explain to him that you are not mentally ill but cursed. Parker Posey and Hillary Swank's niece pants as much as she talks in the role of a useless psychoanalyst. It avoids the psychic explanation but grants us a hooey mythology. The smile is irrelevant. It's a wink to Joker's laugh gas. The kid's party had me rolling, the mother turning into a drag queen was unexpected but the juju was preposterous. 24-Feb-2023
Girlfriend Who Didn't Exist, The (2022)
Grandiose liars are given the opportunity to elaborate. Famous cis boys that call social contacts girlfriends, without intimacy, are unwell. Fake girl can do a pitch perfect girl's voice (behind a screen and a receiver up his asshole) except when he's becoming a real girl. Famous boy is living for everyone but himself. Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021) 
The mood is retro energized to soothe us into an 80's coma. There are three sexes applied to Bizarro Chalamet and I can't get over it. Daddy Rudd endured the right cosmetic procedure because he's yummy gay again except he was stupid, useless and shoed. The wall between the generations discouraged charisma amongst the replacements. There was a don't touch me vibe with babies helming a gimmick that keeps the franchise alive but old movie stars resentful. Why do possessed lizards change their outfits willy nilly but man has to suffer in shreds? The first half works because we presume the artist will add a great spin to propel the magic and replace original mistakes. He makes it more of the same. Reitman copies the spins with advanced tech but he doesn't sign off on it. 20-May-2022
Non-movie illustration of why "Oscar So White" is still so prevalent. Candyman is stripped of sensual ferocity, opinion and reason. His myth is re-written and implied by puppetry because the talent wasn't inspired to showcase it. The scares couldn't unhinge a cockroach. The deaths are remote with closeup shots of thick red Kool-aid. The violence is hesitant because most black people are petrified of supernatural violence. It scratches the ghetto but refuses to live in it because black people don't want to return there. Whites have gentrified the ghetto and blacks are mad as hell because they weren't given enough time to make their home livable. "Welfare knocked on my door before I had a chance to straighten up." "Bitch, you know white people can't watch good land go to waste." Blacks with dedication and drive enjoy the gentrified lifestyle while critiquing their hosts and avoiding the nasty parts of their neighborhood. This is all supposed to tie in with a confusing Candyman revenge backstory. The candy was uninspired. It should have looked scrumptious and colorful. It looked like granny's recycled Christmas candy. Only fat kids pick that shit up. It wasn't woke enough to have Colman Domingo fuck Candyman. The film required more gays so Candyman could kill the two. Too bad.
