Star Wars: Mandalorian and Grogu (2026)

A movie about a bounty hunter and the adorable little baby that are bound together by destiny. A Star Wars film without a mythological front. It is what it is and what it is is great fun. Daddy's dulcet tones lulled me into superhero dreams of Dorothy from Oz picking up all kinds of fascinating creatures and having marvelous adventures. Mando is his own worst enemy. He keeps pissing people off who want to kill him. Grogu was the little bastard that stole it with his comical antics and his winning heart. It was a theater experience at home that I adoringly enjoyed. 05-Sep-2026
Small Soldiers (1998)

Dante didn't decipher the logic that would constitute human behavior in toys programmed to fight an endless war. Idiot manufacturer unwittingly transfers military tactics to child friendly robots to boost sales. Military toys targeting Gorgonites for destruction whose construction consisted of being weak and defenseless monster anti-dolls with hearts of gold. Who's side you pick is the name of the game. The toys were magnificently displayed but the heart was too advanced for our time. The first half was whimsical and cute but the rest was ICE versus immigrants action buffoonery. 16-Aug-2026
Mortal Kombat II (2026)

Super-powered action, simplified storytelling and amiable actors. Mr. Urban's Aussie accent is sorely missed but he's still proficient at delivering quips, face muscles and hair. Bringing back the dead confused. If they can resuscitate you after you die why bother? Is that the point? Because they can? Fight is all that mattered and it's where the film excelled. It took me back to when I payed the games, recognizing characters and being amazed by their looks, moves and kills. 05-Aug-2026
Primate (2025)

Younglings stay home partying whilst dad goes away on business. Pet monkey Ben's adorability is fading due to illness and he's turning mean. The monkey escapes from his enclosure and goes on a rampage. The action set pieces were fresh and unexpected. The handicap was used accordingly. The actors were subtle but captivating. It hurt to watch the transformation from sweet pet to demonic shredder but the film was sheer panic. 02-Aug-2026
Masters Of The Universe (2026)

Funny was used as a shield for insecurities and failures. Idris rose beyond the material and branded Duncan a favorite. I thought that the actress playing Evil-Lyn was Kristen Wiig. It was Alison Brie doing the honors. I laughed when I saw Kristen Wiig's name at the end of the credits. Leto should remain cloaked. It added ferocity to method acting. The dialog didn't deviate from limited subjects but the action imagination was fun. Nicholas is not the only doll I would have played with. It's toy joy. 24-Jul-2026
East Palace, The (2026)

S1E8. The last half explores the secrets of a family that begot their nightmare destiny. It's shift to dramatic arcs embellished the actions that followed. There are many things that I remain confused about but the whole was an epic horror show. 20-Jul-2026
S1E4. I'm watching dubbed. Acting was not enforced while dubbing? The palace is blessed with a curse that ends a royal lineage. Every boy born to be king will die. A pond spirit has taken over the palace and is invading the legacy of the king. A spirit hunter is tasked to rid the family lineage of the curse. Hunter is a retired grump that is chained to a king who kills for failing. Son is dying, the clock is ticking and a princess Watson is on the case to aid the hunter in solving the case. In order to remove a spirit, a hunter must die in the real world to reach the spirit world. (The Upside Down? No, I'm kidding.) Having a princess assist in the real world is a fun addition that adds gravitas to the myth. The action pieces are vibrant, ambitious and artistic. Spirits are a community with a purpose. The actors are winning, the scope is grand and the entertainment is easy. 19-Jul-2026
The Mummy (2026)

Child is kidnapped in foreign country and resuscitates as a mummy 8 years later. How does a family that is established deal with that kind of return? Half and half. The showdowns were based on cliches but the child astounded and the staff was on it. The visuals were full of creativity and hauntings. I keep remembering them. I was curious, spooked and entertained. 08-Jul-2026
Boys, The (2019-2026)

The finale fell short of expectations. We expected an Avengers-type showdown, footage of Homelander struggling to tear into Butcher's dick, a deeper dive into Starlight, The V members showing up to fight and something to live for besides Homelander and Vought. The show wasted too much time on the structure instead of what built it. Great characters, outrageousness, a little bit of heart and style. 24-May-2026
Besides the maestro, Starlight's rejuvenation was my favorite thing. 22-Jul-2024
Homefucker took twitch to its ultimate, grew from it and became remarkable. Someone invited Smirk to the party so he can curse it? He's still smirking away and sounding like a condescending cunt. The twist befits him like a glove. Yes, I would submit to his gravelly words and old man charms. Is that all A-Train or are there other plastics involved? Nice. Mama's Milk has the right amount of daddy issues. Kimiko and Frenchie are still a power couple even though Frenchie has accent disabilities. Star watt. Starlight's abilities were stifled. The series made me realize that Karl Urban can be fun. Quaid can get away with a lot. Sage was waiting for this all her life and she's acing it. The Deep is reenacting some personal memories. Respect. There are stalling tactics that defy reason. The enemies keep bumping into each other but nobody keeps the promise to slaughter the other. One explanation should suffice. Nepo Homelander is sending Damien vibes. Anthony Starr has a grip on us. 12-Jul-2024

The season belongs to daddy Homefucker. 24-Jun-2022
Shue clenches frustration devoutly, Starr chomps evil gleefully and the end punctuated surprisingly. 26-Aug-2019

Dust Bunny (2025)

A blockbuster that should have been. I hopped onto the camera as soon it started to move. "Kill Bill" is hired to assassinate a monster that may or may not exist underneath baby Wednesday's bed. Sigourney Weaver was intelligent, funny and enervating. It was a "bitch" howdy welcome. Aurora strapped the story onto her shoulders and it didn't weigh her down. She was chin to chest with Mads. The supporting players got their own space, story and admiration. The synopsis readied me to understand but didn't prepare me for the motion. Fuller is a bunch of masters imbued in one. I was so involved that I had to cancel my lunch date for the next day because I was too tired from staying up watching it. I was that involved. 18-Apr-2026
Predator: Badlands (2025)

I have a problem accepting A.I. with feelings. Bionics would have made better sense. Should Predators have a conscience? Predators eat the weak. Logistics aside, the popcorn balloons popped constantly. Sometimes with extra butter. 23-Feb-2026
Frankenstein (2025)

Del Toro kept me in awe and made imaginative choices. Oscar was an excitable Victor, full of verve, vigor and craft. Mia cast a bright shine whenever she appeared and her dresses were resplendent. Elordi lent the creature beauty and humanity. There were times where I saw the actor underneath but it was only an x-ray. The man was fully invested. The story was inspiring, the style elegant, the horror realistic and the action pulsating. 09-Nov-2025
K-Pop Demon Hunters (2025)

I understand that art speeds up because the present brain is scanning faster than usual but art should teach them to contain it. Relax. The buffoonery was too much. It was immature and condescending to adults. Girl interaction was a high point. Music didn't suck with some being better than others. I think there were too many. How about establishing more of the girls' purpose and desires a bit more? Art is dreamy, both sexes are cool, the story is questionable and the mythology makes no sense. 21-Jul-2025
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024)

Taylor-Joy shared her thoughts by creating a narrative we could understand, sparkling eyes wasn't given enough artillery to establish a heartfelt character that could pump the breaks and let you feel, Hemsworth establishes that his Thor-type villain is not to be fucked with, the director's vision infected the tech crew. They lived up to expectations. Action sequences were bombastic and artistic. The war scenes confused but they didn't disappoint. The mythology skipped key details that would have granted an Anna/Charlize showdown. I needed more information to explain how a girl succeeds in a filthy society that wants to purge. (I would have made little and middle Furiosa big Furiosa's daughters and have one of her instant love interests be the questionable father.) The team-up would be awesome. There wasn't enough odyssey to landscape the people but it sure looked great. 24-Aug-2024
Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes (2024)

Some of the mythological addendums are making me question my perception of its meaning. The path for everyone is bleak and backwards. What happened to the apes that weren't kept in cages and ran free, sometimes with humans? They must have another view. Wouldn't other countries have different ways of dealing with superior apes because of how many tribes worship them? The apes haven't accomplished much. Most still stutter, they haven't learned anything about spices or cooking and they spend all their free time collecting birds. The humans are kept in the shadows, with little speak and subservient representation. It's one-sided, it thinks it's fair but give us minimum time to explain. It would have been epic to parallel human hope against animal survival. We have to apologize for being god's descendant. In the real world we would have blasted every single one of them and sold their meat on sale at Wally World. When Lady Echo said she was searching for a book that would teach all humans to talk I thought she was talking about the bible. That would have been most likely. Humans didn't save any worthy technology, like I-Phones? This movie says we suck. The movie brought cinema magic and bewilderment, technological elegance, story of interest and the golden touch of a director. My feelings differ from my enjoyment. 12-Aug-2024
Gen V (2023)

The finale entered the Buffyverse and maintained its excellence. The massacre was surprisingly joyful. Creativity was active. The newbies accomplished. We like them, even the evil ones. 03-Nov-2023
I felt yesteryear's essence. When access is limited, you shoot for the heart. Creating superheroes with limitations makes them more susceptible to bleeding. Hurt is the crux of the Superworld because it is in every other world. The series mind-blows and sets the future of comicbook heroes by having heart, progressive CGI and identifiable respect. 22-Oct-2023
