Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018)
The actors couldn't locate the essence in character.
Howard is adept at expounding on a thought previously introduced. The magic materializes when he confronts his thoughts. It's a tough exercise with his stamp gently placed upon it. He needed to make it tremble.
(Chewy made sense.) 03-Feb-2019
Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017)
Moore's evil is low battery, Berry's dweeb is unfortunate, the political leanings are red and the action rouses preposterous invention. Even though daddies squished aplenty, to my enjoyment was added guilt. 24-Jan-2019
The thrills emanate from Momoa's colossal brute, Wan's dazzling shots together with pulverizing action and allowing Kidman to kick ass. Whenever it announces its mythology the corn drips and the music swells. It's best to keep them minimal and quiet but DC is finally moving forward. 28-Dec-2018
Ready Player One (2018)
The door to Spielberg's imagination never closes. He is most brilliant when he transfers his thoughts to the eye (camera.) The Shining and Chucky were unhinged odes and asides of established mastery. Regrettably, the writing and acting get displaced whilst catching up. I would thrill to see the meister embrace his dark side. 27-Nov-2018
Shape of Water, The (2017)
The monster remains an animal which fetishizes the romance. The entirety had me walking through beautiful fairy tale halls and I bought it. 25-Oct-2018
L.O.R.D.: Legend of Ravaging Dynasties (2016)
The logic doesn't matter. Feast on the luscious realism of their art and the low-key male romance. 14-Oct-2018
Lost World, The: Jurassic Park (1997)
Beautiful dino and Spielberg rampage. 11-Oct-2018
Trash art elevated by high energy, cliche improvements, professional visibility (actors,) Alexandre Aja (director) and Nicotero's (make-up) enthusiasm. 08-Oct-2018
The boily stuff comes close to dampening it but the monster mash and George rescue it. 16-Sep-2018
The macho pose may seem off date but who cares when the master has proliferated a grand illusion and Zoe Saldana is gut wrenched. 15-Sep-2018
Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005)
The direction zips amusingly, the performers are at peak charisma and the tricked out bug has a personality. It's bubblegum joy. 01-Aug-2018
Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017)
The story upheld the promise of its mythology but the dialogue forgot it. Except for the originals no one truly grasps or becomes a legend.
The last hour zips past to overcome its trepidation of fulfilling its spiritual demands. All that's required is pushing forth the magic. It gave us poignancy with two legends celebrating their careers then giving the fans an action comic stampede. 15-Jul-2018
Apollo 13 (1995)
Ron Howard reveres and engages us in science. Tom Hanks heads the daddy brave brigade and Kathleen Quinlan commands the tormented family ensemble. 08-Jul-2018
Thor: Ragnarok (2017)
It tips its hat to "Flash Gordon" and blazes past it. Hemsworth is walking art as Cate Blanchett's kindred is otherworldly. The goofiness displaces it but the comic book commotion obliterates it. 01-Jul-2018
Exorcist, The (1973)
Nightmare of my childhood dreams. It scared the Jesus out of me and allowed me to champion fear. It's also a metaphor for how parents perceive teenage evolution. 29-May-2018
