Meat eaters get hit hardest as inflation sees grocery bills soar

Milk is more expensive according to 51 percent of those surveyed; for prepared foods it is 50 percent of those questioned and for seafood 49 percent.

A quarter said they are buying less red meat as a result of the price hikes. Meat prices rocketed by up to 25 per cent last spring, during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, when meat plans were hit by staff shortages caused by the virus.

They subsequently dropped, but Bloomberg's data suggests shoppers are once again feeling the pinch.

Morning Consult economist John Leer told Bloomberg: 'We’ve got these pockets of inflation without having corresponding wage growth, and that’s going to put consumers in a really tough spot.'

For Hispanic and black Americans, more than 40 per cent report spending more money on food since the start of 2021. For white Americans that figure is 30 percent.

A Texas woman was stunned to discover that the man sitting next to her on a plane was complaining about how fat she was to his girlfriend via text message.

Landen Ewing, a baker from Amarillo, Texas, was flying home from Nashville a month ago when she glanced over at the phone screen of the man sitting next to her.

The man was holding his phone 'way out in front of him' making it easy for Landen to see that he was moaning about the 'fat a**' sitting next to him, going so far as to joke that Landen was so heavy that the plane wouldn't even get off the ground.

Fears over domestic abuse when football comes home

With the Premier League returning tonight, the first football game kicking off this week, people will be watching the games from their homes due to the pandemic. There are fears this could increase tensions within households, resulting in incidences of domestic abuse.

In response to this, the Cannock Chase Council’s community safety partnership has teamed up with local partners including Staffordshire Police, New Era (domestic abuse service), the Staffordshire Commissioner’s Office and local authorities across Staffordshire to deliver some messages around the issue.

The new campaign ‘Football is coming home’ raises awareness of the support services available for both victims and perpetrators during these unprecedented times.

Mental health professionals have 'abandoned' duty of care in treatment of trans youth

Winn said she's becoming "increasingly concerned" about the trend of youth identifying as transgender or non-binary and "the lifelong, irreversible medical experiments that are happening to children as a result of this ideology." She added that in 10-15 years, "we're going to see a transition regret crisis, and unfortunately, we are going to have to worry about some of the most frightening mental health outcomes as part of that."
