Rupert Everett complains that the transgender rights movement has ‘completely overshadowed’ gay issues

He criticised what he sees as an overly reproachful outlook among young people, and spoke of his fears of being “cancelled” for speaking about transgender issues.

“This might be the first time that the older generation has felt that they have to tiptoe around the younger generation and turn everything off,” he said.

While Everett claimed to support “wokeness” because “everything it stands for is, essentially, great,” he regretted that gay rights appear to have taken a backseat to trans issues, citing Russia’s recent move to ban same-sex marriage.

After ‘Gays Against Groomers’ stunt, Colorado halts honorary flag program

At first glance, the certificates looked inconspicuous, appearing similar to the hundreds granted under a Colorado program that allows private citizens, public officials and other groups to request honorary flags flown over the state Capitol.
But these two certificates, dated Oct. 1, led state officials to pause the more than 20-year-old program this week.

LGBTQ+ rights attorneys accused of improper judge shopping

On Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Liles Burke released a 50-page report by a three-judge panel in the Middle District Court of Alabama that accuses 39 attorneys of judge shopping in a 2022 case they brought challenging Alabama’s ban on gender-affirming health care for trans youth. Of those, nine face possible sanctions that could at least complicate, if not end, their legal careers.

'She's a monster': Laura Ingraham's gay brother lashes out in interview

Conservative commentator Laura Ingraham is no stranger to public castigation, but the source of the latest attack on the Fox News host hits close to home.

In a interview with the Daily Beast, Curtis Ingraham, the cable star’s brother, lashed out at his famous sibling and her controversial views.

“I think she’s a monster,” Curtis Ingraham said in the interview, which was published on Wednesday. “She’s very smart, she’s well-spoken, but her emotional heart is just kind of dead.”

Sexual Harassment of Young Male Performers Is an Industry-Wide Problem

Shortly after Bryan Schwandt — owner of the twink porn studio BoyCrush — was accused by three of his porn performers of rape, coercion and harassment in late April, a fourth performer, Cole Claire, came forward with similar accusations (link NSFW). Schwandt announced his retirement from the company (link NSFW), but former gay porn director Kevin Clarke says that sexual misconduct with performers is an industry-wide problem that can’t be fixed by performers alone.

The double-edged sword of sexual violence in the LGBTQ community

Harvey Weinstein. Woody Allen. Lars von Trier. And, now, Kevin Spacey. In the film world, the phrase “patriarchal trash” is getting some seriously good mileage.

And, as a loudmouthed, queer feminist, I fully endorse its usage to describe powerful men with alleged histories of sexual violence. I also think it should describe the complicit bystanders who protect predation.

It’s often too easy for folks like me to throw some hefty stones, The LGBTQ community needs to address our multifaceted participation in rape culture, because all the queer theory in the world is meaningless if it’s not put into practice.

"We are strapped inside a cultural straitjacket"

It was probably coincidence that Robert Goddard killed himself on the same day that Margaret Thatcher died. On 8 April 2013, at the offices of Attitude (the UK’s bestselling gay magazine, of which I am editor), as we watched the world’s reaction to the passing of a leader who had famously attacked schoolkids being taught they “had an inalienable right to be gay”, 30 miles away Rob was reaching the end of his ability to cope.

Rob was the younger brother of Attitude’s advertising manager, Andy. In 2001, Rob stepped in to cover his brother’s position while Andy went on his honeymoon. He was cocky, bubbly, laughed a lot and he embodied what it meant to be a young gay man at the turn of the millennium: physically fit, athletic, happy. He also had that most important thing on the gay scene: sexual currency.

Court Grants Loincloth-Wearing Gay Pride Attendee Appeal

A federal appeals court sided with a man Tuesday who was arrested for "nudity" in 2011 while wearing a loincloth at San Diego Pride. The court ruled there was evidence that showed the city's police possibly discriminated against him, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
