Teacher Free to Misgender & Out Students

The lawsuit came about after an incident in which Ricard refused to use a student’s preferred name, and instead repeatedly referred to the student as “Miss [student’s last name],” despite being reminded multiple times of the student’s preferred pronouns.

More than a dozen states propose so-called 'Don't Say Gay' bills

First Florida. Then Alabama. Now, lawmakers in Ohio and Louisiana are considering legislation that mimics the Florida law. And Texas Gov. Greg Abbott says he'll make a similar bill a top priority at the next session.

Across the United States, at least a dozen states are considering new legislation that in several ways will mirror Florida's new controversial law, referred to by some opponents as "Don't Say Gay."

House conservatives focusing on crime...

Legislative proposals being advanced by the conservative include a Concerned Citizens Bill of Rights, which Banks said would link “a state’s receipt of relevant DOJ grant funding on the adoption of certain pro-law enforcement measures.”

Those pro-law enforcement measures, according to Banks, include compelling police departments to report crimes to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting Program and stopping money from going to states that have “no-cash bail” laws.

Here’s why people with HIV should be prioritized for Covid vaccines and boosters

The World Health Organization announced last month that people living with HIV should be among those prioritized for Covid vaccines. The announcement came at the 11th International AIDS Society Conference on HIV Science (IAS 2021) in Berlin in mid-July.

It followed the results of a large-scale study on the risk of Covid to those living with HIV. Previous studies had presented slightly conflicting findings on this issue. However, many of those studies were comparatively small in scale.

This particular research was an analysis of over a quarter of a million people hospitalized with Covid in 37 different countries. Ninety-five percent were from South Africa, where HIV is a particular problem.

Has the left 'cried gay' too soon?

To my friends on the left, their use of hyperbolic messaging against this bill – regardless of their motivation – is a failure of democracy. For instance, the word "gay" does not appear at all in the text of the bill and the phrase "sexual orientation" appears only twice. Also of important note, the bill applies only to the youngest groups of students – kindergarten through third grade. Couple these facts with the onslaught of misplaced activism displayed on media networks, activists, leaders and media elites failed the American people by creating a faux crisis.

Law Could See Children Wed

Critics have slammed a proposed new law in Tennessee that would eliminate age requirements for marriage in the state, claiming the bill would potentially allow children to get married.

High court reverses 5 years of marriage equality

The plaintiffs’ case was argued on three grounds: religiously motivated legislation, freedom of conscience, and discrimination according to creed. The Council found that the religious intent behind the marriage law was irrelevant, that the plaintiffs were free to enter into a non-legally-binding marriage, and that it is not discrimination unless it involves an entire system of beliefs.

It Sure Seems Like the Trans Movement Isn't Winning

There is, however, something positive to note in all this. If they are this upset over these comments, then they clearly aren’t winning the culture war after all.

You don’t lose your mind and call a successful woman a “TERF” (Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist) over those comments if you’re winning the social war. You don’t pull your hair out over jokes like Dave Chapelle’s if you are. You don’t go on a years-long crusade against J.K. Rowling, arguably the most successful female writer of all time, if you’re winning.

House committee in Florida passes 'Don't Say Gayx' bill

The bill would bar educators from talking about LGBTQ+ topics that are not “age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students.” An identical bill has also been introduced in Florida’s state Senate.

LA Mayor Eric Garcetti signs order criminalizing homelessness, with violators facing possible fines of up to $1,000

Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti recently signed into law an ordinance that criminalizes homelessness in most parts of the city, a motion that has drawn just as much fierce support by some as it has opposition by others.

The law specifies certain times and locations where it will be 'unlawful for a person to sit, lie, or sleep, or to store, use, maintain, or place personal property in the public right-of-way'.

My Wife Is Mad I Found Our Child’s Donor Siblings

My wife and I, both women, have one child, who is now 5. We used a sperm donor from a federally licensed bank, to ensure our legal parental rights. I conceived and carried the baby, and both our names are on the birth certificate. Here’s the thing: A couple of months ago, I brought up with my wife the prospect of finding our kid’s donor siblings. She told me she wasn’t crazy about the idea but that I should go ahead and do what I want (obviously, this was said without enthusiasm). I brought it up to her several times after that, and her response was the same fatalistic, “Do what you want, obviously my wishes don’t matter here.” I took my spouse at her word, and started looking. In a secure, vetted fashion (through the sperm bank itself), I was able to find a group of other families who used the same donor. And there are a bunch of kids—over a dozen!

I am overjoyed. I’m excited about the prospect of meeting these families, of our children having close relationships with their half-siblings as they grow up. Seeing pictures, hearing family stories, and learning about medical histories are all great outcomes of this. And as a lesbian, I am excited to connect with a lot of other families, many of them LGBTQ, and have a sense of community with them. My wife is threatened by all of this. She says it feels like I am saying, “Here’s our kid’s real family.” I feel that her stance is emotionally immature and centers herself, not our child’s needs. My wife was really upset over my findings. She has asked me to not tell our child (yet?), and told me she felt hurt because deciding to contact donor siblings was something she wanted us to do together. Which is clearly not true!

Mejico refuses to allow 1,000 American Cruisers to disembark

The Jalisco state health department considered allowing each of the 1,035 passengers off the MS Koningsdam, which has at least 873 crew, as long as they turned in proof of negative COVID-19 tests, Mexican news outlet Milenio reported.

But, officials soon did a u-turn over fears that the outbreak could have spread further than the 21 infected crew members.

'This option was discarded because the health protocols indicate that no one could disembark when positive cases were registered on the boat, so the decision was finally made not to disembark,' the health department said in a statement.

Lesbian Host Slams Biden for Saying Women and Men Are Equal

“We say, ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident’ that all women and men are created equal, endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, among them life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”

To Bruce, this was not a progressive step toward inclusion — women had basically no legal rights when the Declaration of Independence was written in 1776 — but tampering with the “sacred words” of the men who founded the United States.

Assisted dying: Campaigners renewed hope for change in the law

David Peace has motor neurone disease, a terminal illness which gradually affects the brain and nerves.

David, who lives in central London, is one of a number of people behind renewed calls to update England and Wales assisted dying laws to allow terminally ill people, with six months to live, the right to end their life, subject to strict criteria.
A second reading of the assisted dying bill is due to take place in the House of Lords this autumn.

Texas Right to Life puts out dystopian video encouraging people to turn in women who get an abortion

The video is being compared to The Handmaid’s Tale for the announcer’s dead eyes and chilling demands of listeners, at one point calling pro-choice advocates “those who worship at the altar of child sacrifice.”

The law allows anyone in the state to sue for a $10,000 bounty if they think someone has carried out an abortion after the sixth week of pregnancy or even helped in the procurement of an abortion, like a cab driver or clinic receptionist.

A website allows people to leave anonymous “tips” about anyone they suspect of abetting an abortion. Social media has promoted a plan to flood the site with fake tips, causing it to go down for a while yesterday.
