Lost In Space (2018-)
Season 2 served so much syrup it almost drowned the pancakes. The Robinsons' catastrophe meter wriggled so much I wondered why they're not in pieces. Am I supposed to notice that the robot has a big ass? The action rumbles, throttles and shakes you down. Big-screen treatment for a TV mindset. Dr. Smith is a hoot bitchier, the actors are scratching their posts and I'm still in. 05-Jan-2020
Even though the orangutan inspired robot invalidates its predecessor the show succeeded in modern interpretation. There's papi squish, mama force, baby hutzpah and multicultural opportunity. Constructive sci-fi action and Parker Posey's iteration of Dr. Smith as the ultimate lying bitch are its standouts. 29-Jun-2018
The catastrophe of Lost has been redeemed.
Blue is a gorgeous color.
Only Jeremy Irons could snugly fit that suit or that character.
Tim Blake Nelson is trailer park satisfaction.
The greatest thing James Wolk did was strip. His accent almost cut me, it was so sharp.
Lady Trieu was grunge girl effervescence.
It completed, catapulted, respected and reinvented. Brilliant!
I'm excited and afraid. 09-Dec-2019
Acquiring empathy for a dad you hate by reliving his memories was invigorating. (Don't fuck it up!) 03-Dec-2019
Jean Smart and Regina King are glorious. Jeremy Irons is a fantastic beast. The creators name drop comic book fantasy without delivering it. Junk is created for the masses but art heightens its subject. Uncertainty makes the audience walk out. 09-Nov-2019
V Wars (2019)
The process of becoming a vampire and its side effects are so swift that we are not allotted the time necessary to empathize with them. A kickass slayer (Laura Vandervoort) and some popcorn fun, liven it. 15-Dec-2019
The dialogue seems cobbled together from overused scripts. The bromance and action scintillate in a broth that may contain no nutritional value. 09-Dec-2019
Future twink is tortured via experimentation for his better health. All its flaws are abolished by a ludicrous surprise that lashes out at parenting, religion and common sense. I found myself rejoicing at the outcome. 19-Oct-2019
The revelations were gratifying, the show is invested and having Allison take the donuts, made me like her more. You can imagine how I felt when she shared them and ate them. 09-Oct-2019
Allison Tolman is making it her business to uphold the intrigue. I like that. 28-Sep-2019
I-Land, The (2019-)
Unbearable characterization and no adept drivers washing ashore. Out. 27-Sep-2019
I'm on the third episode. The curiosity is minimal, actor attitude is on high alert for no apparent reason and the dialogue is banal. Only a driver, expert at U-turns, can save it. 24-Sep-2019
Better Than Us (2018-)
The show is better than us. It carves a world where man can receive restitution for a feminist movement. It's not about robots but how we perceive them to be the sexual gratifiers, the mothers and the household maintainers of the future world. The more freedom granted to a woman the less a man needs her. The men are also tested by libido, masculine energy and faithfulness. Women have the capacity to liberate themselves from subjugation, even in a robotic state.
For every false move there are two excellent ones to eclipse it. This is the robot myth that should have preceded Battlestar. 11-Sep-2019
Robot fabulosity pulls you in but it's the intertwining story threads that keep you posted. 08-Sep-2019
Stranger Things (2016 -)
PS: I spent most of the season wanting to comb everybody's messy hair. 08-Aug-2019
The magic dissipated in #3 but unity, bromance, and a pulverizing ending held it up. 06-Aug-2019
#2 gratified every sense with throb and tenderness. 29-Nov-2017
There can't be much to disconcert when with every dedication and homage you are dealt original cards with likeable imprinted players and a perplexing with soul reflexing game.
Wynona is unwavering in motherhood vs sanity as David Harbour is papa Bear strength. The kids are inherent, funny and affecting. Millie Bobbi Brown is tasked with conveyance of eye speak and she handles it beautifully.
Success is achieved through inspiration not impersonation. 29-Aug-2016
I Am Mother (2019)
It's about control as much as it is about survival. All three characters are mothers because that is a woman's first natural instinct. It has the most force and the film acknowledges it. They battle, the direction alights the mood, it's subject is fresh and I was never bored. 04-Jul-2019
Roswell, New Mexico (2019-)
Sci-fi B movie tv pulp. 06-Jun-2019
Black Mirror: Bandersnatch (2018)
A jumbled idea. 04-May-2019
Love, Death & Robots (2019)
It doesn't allow you much prep time. It dives right into the action (with mixed results) but the eye is warped to the land of innovative technical wizardry and it magnetizes. 26-Mar-2019
Bird Box (2018)
We get to conceptualize the threat, Paulson reads her lines in haste, nobody fucks with Bullock and Trevante Rhodes seizes beauty. 04-Jan-2019
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1996-2003)
Because I may never anticipate an assurance of excellence. 23-Nov-2018
It's an acting exercise that neither gratifies or precipitates its subject or ensnares us. 25-Oct-2018
I sit up in anticipation that Theroux gets to suit up his super daddiness and be part of something cohesive. I lay back wary that the fate of True Detective will return to insult us. 24-Sep-2018
