Help! My Grandma Found Out I’m Gay and Banned Me From Christmas.
Dear Prudence,
I am 19 years old, and a few months ago I came out to my parents and siblings. Everyone has been very accepting and loving. The problem is this: My younger sister told my uncle and aunt that I am a lesbian. (It was not done maliciously.) They’re top-of-the-line homophobes. They told my grandmother, who is now banning me from Christmas festivities that we celebrate every year.
I told my parents to just go without me and, while reluctant, they would like to go just to smooth things over. As we get closer to Christmas, I am getting depressed at the thought of being alone for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I could go to my friend’s house, but that seems pathetic. Please help!

Four in ten think it’s “inappropriate” for 6-year-olds to learn that being gay is OK, study finds
As the new sex and relationships curriculum comes into place across England, Kantar conducted a study into attitudes toward the LGBTQ+ community.
The study asked 2,363 people, aged 16 or over, living in the United Kingdom about their opinions toward LGBTQ+ people being in certain roles.
Although the study found high levels of comfort toward LGBTQ+ people being teachers, 91% in favour for gay men, lesbians and bisexual people and 77% for trans people, it still found that nearly four in ten people (38%) thought it “inappropriate” for a 6-year-old to be taught that being gay is fine.

Justices reject B&B owner who denied room to gay couple
The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday left in place Hawaii court rulings that found a bed and breakfast owner violated the state's anti-discrimination law by refusing to rent a room to a lesbian couple.
The justices rejected an appeal from Aloha Bed & Breakfast owner Phyllis Young, who argued that she should be allowed to turn away gay couples because of her religious beliefs.
"Mrs. Young will rent a bedroom in her home to anyone, including those who are LGBT, but will not rent to any romantic partners other than a husband and wife," her attorney, James Hochberg, said in a statement. "This kind of governmental coercion should disturb every freedom-loving American no matter where you stand on marriage."

60 countries later, Globetrotter Girls' Dani Heinrich says there's 'still so much to see'
My name is Dani Heinrich and I’m 36 years old. I’m originally from Germany, but haven’t lived there since 2006.
After stints in Austria and Spain, I fell in love with London and moved to the UK for four years. Then I canceled my lease there to travel the world for a year with my (then) partner.
About six months in, I decided I didn’t want to go back to my boring office job and instead I decided to become nomadic and earn money while traveling.

Carolyn Hax: Christian best friend asks lesbian couple to ‘chill with the PDA’
I’m angry and shocked — I’ve been so careful around her. I have to hide around family. Do I have to hide around her too?
DEAR CAROLYN: I have known “Sarah” for half my life. We are now in our late 20s. I came out to her as a lesbian two years ago and am currently dating someone.
Sarah is a conservative Christian, so I have made sure to be careful around her regarding our public displays of affection. I basically told my girlfriend we should act the same around Sarah as we would around family. The occasional kiss on the cheek or hand-holding, nothing more.
Recently, my girlfriend and I asked Sarah out to dinner. She initially replied maybe, then about an hour later told us she would come if we “chilled with the PDA,” and added, “I would ask the same if your girlfriend was a man.”
I am angry. I have been very careful around her, and was shocked at her request. I don’t really know what to do. My family is unsupportive so I hide a significant amount of my life already — they know but refuse to talk about it — and I don’t want to have to hide around my best friend. Any advice on how to proceed?

Women only gay because of men? Study claims lesbianism evolved because guys fancy homosexual women
Homosexuality in women evolved because it's a turn on for men, a controversial scientific paper has claimed.
It's estimated that about 15% of women are homosexual or bisexual. Exactly why so many women experience attraction to one another was a puzzle for Menelaos Apostolou at the University of Nicosia in Cyprus.
"Why does same-sex attraction happen in women, why did it evolve, and does it serve some purpose? A lot of men indicate a desire to have a partner who also experiences same-sex attraction," Apostolou told IBTimes UK.

Woman sues sex-toy maker for invading privacy
(NEWSER) – It's a tale for the ages: A woman buys a vibrator, uses it, and discovers the company that built it is tracking just what she does with it and how often. And yes, she's suing.
In a class-action lawsuit representing what the Chicago Tribune reports is tens of thousands of users, the Illinois woman has marched her smart dildo to Chicago to sue sex-toy company Standard Innovation. She accuses the company, which is based in Ottawa, Canada, of consumer fraud, unjust enrichment, intrusion upon seclusion, and violating the Federal Wiretap Act and the Illinois Eavesdropping Statute — and she's asking for unspecified punitive damages, reports Vocativ.
The woman reportedly bought her We-Vibe Rave for $130 in May and proceeded to use it several times before learning via a Defcon hacking convention talk (which CNET reported on last month) that her extremely personal usage was being scrutinized for marketing purposes by its maker, reports Courthouse News.
