More Spanish girls report sexual abuse despite progress on gender

The number of teenage girls saying they felt pressured into sexual activity has almost doubled in seven years in Spain to more than one in 10 of respondents, a study by the Equality Ministry showed on Friday.

Increased social media and internet usage has helped raise awareness of abuse but also brought new forms of exploitation and risky behaviour, it said, in its first study of gender-based violence and sexist attitudes among 14-20-year-olds since 2013.

“Teenagers’ perception of machismo is much keener now thanks to better access to information and global feminist movements,” State Secretary for Equality Noelia Vera told a news conference.

“But having clear opinions about gender violence doesn’t free you from suffering it.”

Almost half of teenage girls said they had been sent sexual photos online and more than two in five had been asked to send sexual photos of themselves, the study showed, while nearly one in four had been asked to engage in virtual sex.

Dangerous online behaviours, such as using a webcam with a stranger or telling them your name, home or school address, all jumped significantly in 2020 compared to 2013, with a quarter of teens admitting they gave a stranger their home address online.

Sarah Michelle Gellar on Joss Whedon Misconduct Allegations: 'While I Am Proud to Have My Name Associated With Buffy Summers... '

“While I am proud to have my name associated with Buffy Summers, I don’t want to be forever associated with the name Joss Whedon,” she wrote on Instagram. “I am more focused on raising my family and surviving a pandemic currently, so I will not be making any further statements at this time. But I stand with all survivors of abuse and am proud of them for speaking out.”

A man forced women to sexually abuse his 7-year-old son because he thought the child was gay

A retired man has been sentenced to eight years in jail for hiring sex workers and forcing them to sexually abuse his seven-year-old son in order to make him grow up to be straight.

But one of the sex workers ended up going to police herself. She said that the father would take her to another city and forced her to have sex with others for money.

Kevin Spacey continues bizarre Christmas tradition of tone-deaf videos

Disgraced actor Kevin Spacey shared a third annual Christmas Eve video Thursday that left many wondering whether he knew how to read the room.

The nearly 2½-minute YouTube video, which he also posted on his Twitter feed, featured Spacey, 61, addressing the camera directly while walking in an unidentified park.

Mr. Spacey is not talking to us, he's talking to his people. Someone needs to and who better. A representative might calm those fuckers down. I fell for his attempt at honesty until he shook it off. The important thing is the message to the pedos got through. Did I do good daddy? 24-Dec-2020

Nurses in Orange County protest staffing conditions at local hospitals

The support for nurses demonstrating outside South Coast Global Medical Center is clear. It was one of four protests at Orange County hospitals.
Nurses say that their safety and patient lives are at risk after the state allowed their hospital, part of KPC Health, to increase the patient to nurse ratio in the middle of a pandemic.

"So instead of giving us more nurses we got more work. Patients are going to die, nurses are gonna break, nurses are exhausted," says Karen Rodriguez, a registered nurse.

Nurses say that they are overwhelmed with COVID-19 patients, shifts go as long as 16 hours, four to five days a week, code after code, leaving them exhausted, waking up anxious in the middle of the night.

"It might be surge after surge and who knows, and they're not preparing for the worst," says Irene Brown, South Coast Global Medical Center ICU nurse

"I don't have any more to give when I get home, and that's really unfair to my family and myself because I just want to rest," says Vanessa Aguilar

She says it's also unfair to patients. Aguilar had this heartbreaking admission: Some may have made it if we had more resources.

Hillsong Church Faces New Allegations of Abusive Behavior

Leadership for the megachurch Hillsong was responsible for the “abuse of volunteers and real, amazing people,” according to a new New York Post report. Nicole Herman told the tabloid that in her experience founding Hillsong L.A. in 2013, she was beneath the senior pastors but “did everything.”

According to the Post, Herman put out a call on Instagram on Saturday to hear from “a million other amazing people who left this cult,” telling the outlet that her inbox has since been flooded. Yolandi Bosch told the tabloid that she attended Hillsong College in Australia after a representative for the school convinced her to give up a career in film and move there from South Africa—and asked her to sign a non-disclosure agreement saying that she wouldn’t speak about her experiences at the college without approval.

Bosch didn’t sign the NDA. She told the Post that the church required a pastor’s permission to date and that her behavior was monitored by fellow students at the request of school administration. “It felt like a reality show—it’s really a cult,” Bosch said.

Utah teacher admits to inappropriate relationship with 14-year-old student

A Utah teacher has admitted having an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old pupil — even sneaking her into their school in a large storage bin, according to an affidavit.

Father of four Lucas Sloan Talley, 38, had “personal contact via text message and email with multiple young girls” during his 12 years at South Hills Middle School in Riverton, according to the affidavit obtained by Deseret News.

That increased when the school shut down because of the pandemic and he “struggled” with no longer getting the girls’ “validation” that he “thrives on,” he told investigators, according to the affidavit.

Landlords skirt COVID-19 eviction bans, using intimidation and tricks to boot tenants

Cash-strapped renters nationwide say their landlords tried to skirt COVID-19 eviction moratoriums by changing locks, removing trash containers so waste piled up and – in one case – attempting to unbolt the front door right off an apartment.

They told state attorneys general that they were kicked out of their homes after landlords accused them of violating tenant rules, like smoking cigarettes inside their units or failing to take the hitches off of their mobile homes.

Like Heidi Stach, who lost her job due to the pandemic and fell behind on rent, they assumed they were protected. But Stach says her landlord found an end-run to Wisconsin’s eviction ban: Instead of starting a court process, he sent her a notice to vacate this summer because he was not renewing her lease.

‘Relationships are not for you’: Ten-year-old girl gives her nanny dating advice – and it’s brutal

The girl said: 'And you're still trying with the wrong people. Quit going for younger guys.' She gets so heated she slams her fist on a hard surface as she makes her point.

Her nanny said: 'He's literally, like, seven months younger.'

The girl shared some very wise advice, telling her babysitter to 'get an older rich man so you can live a good life and not end up on the street with this guy you're going to meet that you've never met before that you have feelings for and you're simping for'.

The woman said: 'I don't need an older rich man because I don't care about the money I care about the connection.'

The girl said: 'You're going to end up on the streets and I hope you do.'

Laughing, the woman said: 'I won't end up on the streets. When I end up famous and rich.'

Shouting, the girl said: 'You're not going to get famous because nobody's going to help you. Nobody wants to help you because you go for the wrong people.'

I came out to my mother when I was 17 years old and no longer residing in her household. I didn't expect a good reaction so I called her on a public phone and announced it to her. She cried, became quiet and told me she suspected it but that she loved me, no matter what. I didn't have to lie to mother anymore. It was freeing. I visited her a few days later. She had time to absorb and ponder having a gay son. She cried again, I asked why and she said because being gay meant I was destined for a miserable life. That's impossible, it was such an overwhelming feeling to be me. I had to prove her wrong. She asserted conditions for my new identity: no meeting of "my men," I must continue to have a masculine presence, especially around family and don't get sick. I ignored her, introduced her to every one, told as much of the family as I could bear and kept my masculinity in check.

My mother recently confided to me that she used to receive dick pics from my croc daddy in the US mail while I was living with him. I thought, he might have done it as revenge for my unwillingness to absorb giant dick pain and or tricking him into being a gay bottom. When I took him to Gay Pride he cried because he thought I mistook him for one of those. He was straight. His shit was no joke but he was. A child molester was my educator and entrance into the gay world. I also figured my mother and I were even. Her boyfriend tried to brutally rape me. Mother's boyfriend was two years older than me, my croc daddy was 55. Our boyfriends shared the same culture, understood the nuances that make people vulnerable, and always seemed to be creepily plotting something sexual for us. Neither man represented our community. They were perverts sidling up to mommies so they could play with their children. (Now I know why she tried to cut him out of my photo albums.) I understand her comments and I realized her concern. My gay education came from perverts. The community hates itself more than the media loves it. Clicks work for a minute, the families we create are fake and we all die alone. We need less "Boys In The Band" depression and more gay reality awareness so we can come up with better coping mechanisms. Not smile at weirdos taking advantage of us because of politically correct etiquette.

I apologized to my mother. My croc stalked me, stole from us, used me, beat me up, tied me up and raped me. Afterwards, he thought of not releasing me because he was afraid I would kill him. You bet your life! But I had no choice, I begged for my life, stroked the psycho's ego and he loosened one arm while he Soniced out of the apt. I was stalked by my ex, my mother was stalked by her ex and I was stalked by both exes. I spent a lifetime trying to prove mother's sentiment wrong but in the end, she was right.

(Pic of my daddy croak included. Mother destroyed my croak dic picks but y'all can ask mother if she kept her copy.) 26-Oct-2020

Florida took thousands of kids from families, then failed to keep them safe.

In a matter of months, the foster care system found itself drowning in hundreds of new cases. By 2017, the state needed space for 6,000 additional foster children – an influx equivalent to the size of the entire foster population of the state of New Jersey.

But lawmakers, child welfare leaders and Scott did not hire more caseworkers or increase the money paid to foster families to make more homes available. And they failed to tackle the root problems driving most of the removals: lack of access to drug treatment, mental health care and domestic violence services for parents.

Instead, they stood by as foster care agencies packed children into overcrowded homes and sent nearly 200 boys and girls to foster parents previously accused of abusing or neglecting the children in their care, a USA TODAY investigation found.

Why Lucille Ball’s Daughter Tells Aspiring Actors To Find a Different Profession–’Make Sure You Get a Porno Tape Out There’

Show business has changed quite a but since I Love Lucy was on the air. Lucille Ball and her daughter, Lucie Arnaz, experienced two very different versions of Hollywood. And as Arnaz reflects on the industry today, she doesn’t like what she sees. That’s why she tells aspiring actors to “change your mind” when they ask her for advice on breaking into show business.

When Arnaz was interviewed by the Television Academy Foundation in 2016, she was asked what advice she had for aspiring actresses. First, she says she’d try to convince them to find a different career.

“I think this business has changed so dramatically. I would not recommend anybody going into it. There are half as many parts as there were when we were growing up,” she said.

Arnaz notes that the rise of reality TV has to do with there being fewer parts for actors.

“There’s all kinds of reality TV now because that’s cheaper for everybody to do. There doesn’t seem to be a difference between a reality star and a star star. So why work so hard? Make sure you get a p*rno tape out there right away. That’ll help,” she said sarcastically. “I mean, as you can see, I’m a little, just–I’m baffled by the business at present.”
