Multi-state salad dressing recall issued because of a bizarre contaminant
Food recalls can happen for any number of reasons, but many times they are issued due to undeclared allergens. It can be something as simple as not having milk or nuts listed on the label, leaving people with allergies to those products unaware that they may be harmed if they consume it. That’s the case with a new recall for Brite Harbor Caesar Dressing & Dip.

“Tobacco use is a singular health threat to LGBTQAI+ communities,” said Kristy Marynak, a senior science adviser at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and a co-editor of the report. “This report finds that nearly 1 in 5 of all deaths in the United States are caused by tobacco, and it shines a light on the disproportionate burden borne by certain communities, including LGBTQAI+ communities.”

It also found that 262,000 (0.5 per cent) identify with a gender identity different from the sex they were assigned at birth.
Additionally, 18.3 per cent of people in England and Wales see themselves as coming from an ethnic minority.
GLAAD study found LGBTQ+ people ‘failed’ in the media.
The YouGov figures show a striking difference compared with surveys in other countries, with France finding that only 19 per cent of its population believed ethnic minorities to be over-represented.

How Small Restaurant Owners Are Navigating the Labor Shortage
Every few weeks, it seems, a new photo goes viral on social media showing a sign in a restaurant window declaring: “This restaurant is closed because no one wants to work.” Restaurant owners have, for months now, been quoted in articles and TV news hits decrying the ongoing labor shortage, blaming the enhanced unemployment benefits enacted during the pandemic for disincentivizing returning to work.
But those benefits have expired in some states already — and some jobs data suggests ending them didn’t exactly lead to a wave of rehires.

Stars Banned From 'Saturday Night Live'
Martin Lawrence hosted the show in 1994, and his monologue caused some severe controversy.
During the segment, he spoke about the then-recent John and Lorena Bobbitt incident, and then improvised a rant about feminine hygiene. The comments were removed and replaced by a voiceover in future broadcasts: “At this point in his monologue, Martin begins a commentary on what he considers the decline in standards of feminine hygiene in this country. Although we at Saturday Night Live take no stand on this issue one way or the other, network policy prevents us from re-broadcasting this portion of his remarks. In summary, Martin feels, or felt at the time, that the failure of many young women to bathe thoroughly is a serious problem that demands our attention. He explores this problem, citing numerous examples from his personal experience, and ends by proposing several imaginative solutions.”

People Buy Custom Baby Monkey Torture Videos on World’s Worst Forum
While some of the videos posted to Facebook are upsetting, the content on the forum (which has since been deleted by its host) and Telegram group is genuinely shocking and gruesome. Users are paying to “adopt” baby long-tailed macaques in Indonesia that are then subjected to brutal torture based on their requests. Users can choose between buying their own monkey or a “share” in one.
In one video, a monkey screeches as its finger is cut off. In another, a monkey is kicked repeatedly in the face and then waterboarded. Other videos show, among other things, monkeys being flayed, pierced, cut, beaten, and burned. Other screenshots show a baby monkey tied to a crucifix.

Toxic algae blooms eyed in deaths of family of 3 and their dog on remote California hiking trail
Investigators are considering whether toxic algae blooms or other hazards may have contributed to the deaths of a Northern California couple, their baby and the family dog on a remote hiking trail, authorities said.
The area in the Sierra National Forest where the bodies were found on Tuesday had been treated as a hazmat site after concerns were raised about the deaths being linked to potentially toxic gases from old mines nearby.

Why are people putting apple cider vinegar on their dicks?
It’s hard to say how many people with penises are trying it, but it isn’t hard for doctors to say what the consequences might be. “Since apple cider vinegar is acidic, this could cause severe irritation or inflammation of the urethra,” says Ponoza. I don’t have a penis, but I did try ACV as a toner on my face and found that it made my skin look inflamed and really burned in places where I had small abrasions.
So is there any truth to the claim that it’ll make your penis bigger?

Toxic 'forever chemicals' detected in half of US makeup, study finds
More than half the cosmetics sold in the United States and Canada are awash with a toxic industrial compound associated with serious health conditions, including cancer and reduced birth weight, according to a new study.
Researchers at the University of Notre Dame tested more than 230 commonly used cosmetics and found that 56% of foundations and eye products, 48% of lip products and 47% of mascaras contained fluorine — an indicator of PFAS, so-called "forever chemicals" that are used in nonstick frying pans, rugs and countless other consumer products.

Discovery Reportedly Wants To Fire Everyone Involved With The DCEU
One of the first things on David Zaslav’s to-do list as the CEO of newly-formed conglomerate Warner Bros. Discovery will surely be to streamline the entire operation, because as things stand, the corporate structure could generously be described as shambolic.
As much as many fans would love for him to kick open the doors, boot out the old guard and restore the SnyderVerse, that’s hardly going to be high on his immediate agenda, but we’ll use the DCEU‘s setup as an example, with a recent Reddit leak as the jumping-off point. We should note that the veracity of the claim is entirely up for debate (though this particular user does have a proven track record with scoops), but the insider says that Discovery wants to fire everyone involved with the shared superhero universe.

Your Cat Is Making Your Kids Stupid, Says Science
For years, scientific studies have warned pregnant women about the possible effects of toxoplasmosis (a disease found in kitty litter) on their unborn child.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention says that toxoplasmosis can lead to serious illnesses such as blindness, hearing loss, mental disabilities, and psychosis.
Most children do not show symptoms of toxoplasmosis. If they show any symptoms, they usually include swollen lymph glands, fatigue, and muscle aches.
In teens, it can cause chorioretinitis, which is a rare symptom that consists of blurred vision and dark spots floating in front of your child's eyes.

Sex doll sales soar with gay people and couples fuelling demand
One sex doll company has released sales figures showing more people bought dolls in the first three months of the year than in the whole of 2019.
Their stats show gay and bi men and women are even more likely than other men and women to have bought one of the dolls.
Likewise, same-sex couples are also keen to add one of the dolls to their bedroom fun.
But the biggest rise of all appears to be among experimental heterosexual couples. That would appear to mean that some people in ‘straight’ relationships are using the lockdown to enjoy their bi side.

Jennie-O turkey recall bigger than previously announced
A nationwide recall of raw turkey tied to a deadly outbreak of salmonella is getting bigger.
Since the recall of Jennie-O Turkey products was announced last week, health investigators have added a fifth item. That raises the amount of recalled turkey to more than 147,000 pounds, from 91,000 pounds, a spokesperson for the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food and Inspection Service (FSIS) told CBS MoneyWatch.
The recall of raw ground turkey products is linked to an outbreak strain of Salmonella Reading, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, with 164 infections reported from 35 states. The cases include 64 illnesses and one death in California, according to the CDC.
