Secret Agent, The (2025)

Patience and the art of listening is required. Refugee on the run after politics and personal vendettas defame him and target him with violence. Puzzle pieces take their time dropping but they are revealed. The atmosphere was hot, survival skills can only stretch a life so much, the characters were amateur finds, it hooks, it doesn't look away but it doesn't finish satisfactorily. I wanted some hammer time. 11-Mar-2026
War Machine (2026)

The military are all dicks so there is no one-upping each other. The banter is less typical and bad assery was disco (non-existent.) The thing had me desperate to see it and not disappointed that I did. The survival half contributed a lot to the action that followed. The cast was essential in directing audience emotions so it can feel it. The thing was scary and unstoppable. Someone is going to invent better AI to kill us. 10-Mar-2026
Blue Moon (2025)

When a collaboration is successful the power it wields is insurmountable. When a collaborator collaborates with others to greater success, the loss of power leaves a man broken. Hart is a legend hanging by his wits with only romantic notions to keep him hooked. Hawke wakes a has-been from legendary death. His commitment made the words flourish. The character was so complete that I couldn't remember what Ethan Hawke looked like. A play of sorts with historical elements that conveys the truth. Qualley's force closes the film beautifully. I saw and heard the era in her. 10-Mar-2026
Bridgerton (2026)

The bon bons were chocolatey and delicious. The players remain irresistible and the newbies matched them. It was nice to see Anthony but the actor playing him kept downplaying himself. A fairytale re-written by a fantasy show that applies reason to magic. Coincidences abound, romance was genuine, the support was better than mice, the chemistry was outstanding, production exquisite, writing was sharp and sentimental and wands aren't the only way to conjure magic. 09-Mar-2026
Ugly Stepsister, The (2025)

Fantasies have realities that most live version films avoid. Someone figured it out. The writer must intuit the motivations behind every classic action. The cast were harmonious and rhythmic, the protagonist disrobed emotionally, dialogue made sense and the shocks were shocking. The story was realized, poeticized and scary. The pumpkin fell flat. It would have been easier to have Cinderella's admirer coach her. He would do it to woo Cinderella away from the Prince. He had to be home by midnight because he was underage. 25-Feb-2026
Predator: Badlands (2025)

I have a problem accepting A.I. with feelings. Bionics would have made better sense. Should Predators have a conscience? Predators eat the weak. Logistics aside, the popcorn balloons popped constantly. Sometimes with extra butter. 23-Feb-2026
Wrecking Crew, The (2026)

Action entertainment sweetened by its protagonists. Morena flamed. Her heroics were down to earth and her chemicals reacted well to the male hormone. I was as interested in the drama as I was in the action. HI Daddies did their thing. 13-Feb-2026
If I Had Legs I'd Kick You (2025)

Rose Byrne acted under a magnifying glass and never flinched or deviated from her purpose. She aced it. A woman becomes whole when they give birth. If the child is born broken, completion falls apart. The gift becomes a burden and mama can't come to grips. The child is in the shadows because of the uniqueness of her circumstances. I got the picture. Conan Obrien was restrained, pained and good. The director's flair was unique and the writing sparkled with intelligence. 05-Feb-2026
Twinless (2025)

Dylan is all grown-up and ready for his close-up. Both turns are different and complex. Each side brought his personality forward and succeeded. One precarious and adventuresome, the other, patient and understanding. I kept seeing him as Nightwing. Maybe because I was imagining his impressive butt in tights. James Sweeney quietly tempered his character to fit a personality whose desire to fight loneliness outweighed the prescription that cures it. The foot suck was everything. Two men become attached when they share twin loss. When a twin dies, the survivor no longer has a mirror to base their lives on. One is gay, the other not but they create a bond that soothes the emptiness. A mirror to their souls. Susan Parks was sarcastic and aware. Two great attributes for comedy. Lauren Graham's sympathetic but volatile persona glorified a lot of her scenes. Francois Arnaud beefed things up by looking short, turning us on and being a dick. The cast was funny and endearing, the comedy was intellectual, the drama was bold, the sex was hot and politics were non-existent. I enjoyed it a lot. 20-Jan-2026
It Feeds (2025)

Well thought out horror film that is supported by its players. Therapist is gifted with psychic abilities that lets her inhabit a person's mind to see what is triggering their ailment. Daughter plays intermediary because she hasn't tapped in to her abilities. Trouble knocks but when the therapist witnesses the ill she is frightened beyond belief and won't aid. Family dynamic is strong, Agatha doesn't hurt, the creature creeps, I was scared, the circumstances were believable and the finale got me thrilling 19-Jan-2026
Train Dreams (2025)

The historical life of a logger explored and how life politics and choices detoured his path to happiness. Loss is a pain whose wound never heals. It remains in memory banks of hope. Robert Granier is categorized by an actor that added honor to sympathy. Edgerton owned it. Life is simpler than I thought and harder. 09-Jan-2026
Life Of Chuck, The (2024)

It's sweet but reserved. A man's life is explored by the people he touched and inspired him. The main facets of a person's life told out of order with much respect. Does the universe die with you when you go? The actors were easy to like and most eloquent. Hiddleston's time is short but he made the best of it. His dance was joyous, drummer girl rocked, the children were well taught, Hamill made it understood and Mia was glorious. It's Stephen King from the heart. 31-Dec-2025
Great Flood, The (2025)

It wasn't something I expected but am very pleased that it turned out that way. Patience begets understanding, information and the importance of acting as a whole instead of as an individual. I presumed that our leads gave a great performance in their native language but I chose dub and the acting was horrible, esp. the adorable child. It didn't matter because talking wasn't necessary. There are only so many words one can blurt out in an end of life scenario. It haunted, it accelerated and broke a few hearts. 23-Dec-2025
The Conjuring: Last Rites (2025)

The best horror movies stay close to home. Why else would it be scary? Nobody cares WTF goes on in Mars. The frights were well placed and the drama was amped up. That is a good thing. The actors worked hard to insure the consequences were high. I was never scared but I was full of thoughts and respect. 13-Dec-2025
Wake Up Dead Man: Knives Out (2025)

Josh O'Connor was an Exorcist "Dimmy" dream. Josh Brolin was a Monsignor undie dropper. Jeremy Renner reached. Mila did well. Daddy Scott was still pinchable but backdoored. No one can light a room like Lady Close. Kerry explored and was successful. I laughed through most of it because it was funny, interesting and dynamic. Daddy superior still has issues with a hypocritical accent. I found a way. Have Super Daddy proclaim that he was faking it for legal reasons. The story was fun, the pace delightful and the performances were sublime. 13-Dec-2025
