Mother Files $5.5 Million Lawsuit After Son Is Bullied Over 50 Cent Friendship
The mother of a Brooklyn teen is blaming 50 Cent for the merciless bullying of her son, and is now suing the Department of Education for $5.5 million.
Myasia Dickerson believes her 14-year-old son Davian Fraser’s friendship with 50 Cent has made him a target, the New York Daily News reports. Now, Dickerson has filed a claim against the city, accusing Williamsburg Charter School of not protecting her son after he was regularly attacked by fellow students.
After the students learned about Fraser’s relationship with the rapper at the beginning of the school year, some of them started to harass him. “It caused a big uproar in the school,” Dickerson told the outlet. “The kids started to follow my son around, tried to put him on Snapchat, tried to take videos of him. They were following him to the train station.”
During Fraser’s lunch break on Dec. 16, four classmates came up to him near a stairwell and started punching him. “He was attacked from behind as he tried to walk away," Dickerson said. “He was punched in the head and then the student proceeded to fight him and then he slammed my son’s head onto the ground.”
Stephen King slammed for 'ignorant' tweet about not considering 'diversity' when voting for the Oscars
Famed writer Stephen King has stirred up controversy after admitting he “would never consider diversity in matters of art,” a remark made in reference to his status as a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) voting on Oscar contenders. His remarks come a day after the 2020 Oscar nominations were announced, prompting complaints that women and people of color were largely overlooked. Many critics bemoaned the exclusion of women like Greta Gerwig from the Best Director category, while Harriet’s Cynthia Erivo spoke out about being the only person of color to be nominated across four acting categories.
We are bullying someone because they are putting the quality of work before race, sex or creed. Isn't that how equality works? You can't expect to be rewarded because you are diverse. Diversity in film is at an infancy and it takes experience and hard work to establish quality. Haven't we already doled out enough pittance awards? Just have fun proving them wrong. 14-Jan-2020

Ex-teacher harassed, ousted from Upper East Side middle school for being gay: suit
A former social studies teacher at an Upper East Side public middle school was relentlessly hectored by students and colleagues — and eventually let go — because he is gay and stood up for a bullied student, a new lawsuit alleges.
During his two-year tenure as a full-time teacher at Robert F. Wagner Middle School, Robert Halkitis suffered a campaign of harassment that included vandals scrawling a slur on his bulletin board and a student calling him a “f—ing f—-t” in his classroom, alleges a lawsuit filed in Manhattan federal court on Monday.
The torment also included a school clerk suggesting that he was having a sexual relationship with a male colleague on school grounds, court papers say.
A woman cannot be a true feminist without holding the toxic gods that made female inferiority law, accountable. It's hypocritical.
The feminist cause was supposed to garner women respect not create a hostile takeover.
During this renaissance a little boy's dream must lay to the wayside while his sister's soars. It's what men have been doing to women for centuries, you say. It's what women have allowed for centuries, following God's law. Why can't we get it right and include everyone? Why does every boy have to feel emasculated because our fathers and mothers got it wrong?
You can try to turn the world into a princess fairytale but it wont mean a thing if the prince runs away.
A true feminist can't complain about men if they're still fucking them. It's like a vegan eating meat. 26-Nov-2019

What Kids Who Bully Often Have In Common
When parents, educators and mental health professionals talk about bullying, there is understandably a lot of emphasis on the victims. But in focusing solely on victims in anti-bullying efforts, an important part of the equation gets forgotten: the kids who do the bullying.
“Bullying is not a one-time event or a random act of mean behavior but rather a pervasive, ongoing pattern of aggression targeted toward another child who in some way has less power in the relationship,” explained school psychologist Rebecca Branstetter, noting that it’s important to distinguish it from other forms of aggressive behavior or typical childhood conflicts.
Obviously every child who bullies comes from different circumstances and has different reasons for this behavior. There is no one profile of a bully, as each child who engages in this conduct has a unique set of challenges. But there are many common traits and experiences among bullies, and examining them can be beneficial.
Indiana Teen Attacked In Locker Room for Being Gay
An Indiana high school student has faced ridicule after being attacked in a locker room for being gay. After other students started circulating video of the incident around school, the teenage boy’s mother shared the story with Indianapolis TV station WTHR.
“I’m not OK, but I will be,” the student told the news outlet.
And he’s telling anyone else who ever finds themselves the victim of a hate crime to stay strong in spirit.
"Stay true to yourself,” he said, “and if you get hit, do the best you can to make sure it never happens again."

Indianapolis Catholic School threatened to expel a gay student for supporting LGBTQ rights
Indianapolis Archbishop Charles Thompson, who ordered the mass firing of any teachers at the diocese’s schools, also had no problem allowing school administrators to threaten a gay student with expulsion if he didn’t stop speaking out for social justice.
The archdiocese has admitted it instructed all schools under its umbrella to immediately enforce all employment contracts – effectively a blanket order to fire any LGBTQ staff members. Over 70 schools in central Indiana are under the archdiocese’s administration.
“To effectively bear witness to Christ, whether they teach religion or not, all ministers in their professional and private lives must convey and be supportive of Catholic Church teaching,” the archdiocese said in a statement sent last week.

Mario Lopez apologizes for 'ignorant' comments about parenting and gender identity
TV personality Mario Lopez has apologized for comments made during a recent podcast appearance in which he said it was "dangerous" for parents to allow their children to pick their gender identities at young ages.
"The comments I made were ignorant and insensitive, and I now have a deeper understanding of how hurtful they were," Lopez said in a statement to CNN. "I have been and always will be an ardent supporter of the LGBTQ community, and I am going to use this opportunity to better educate myself. Moving forward I will be more informed and thoughtful."
The former "Saved By the Bell" star made the remarks last month on a podcast hosted by conservative personality Candace Owens.
In the discussion, Owens brings up what she calls one of the "weird trends" of Hollywood parents allowing their children to pick their gender identity.
We need to stop telling people how to feel. We all have a right to an opinion and forcing ridiculous notions down sober people's throats isn't going to fix your children. We are supposed to guide our children into making the best decision not agree with it because it makes parenting easier. Geez, maybe he feels like a girl because Uncle Harry has been secretly diddling him. I wanted to be many things. Zero is the total that bled into my life. The more society makes people apologize for an opinion the more they will hurt us. This is all going to look ridiculous in the future when it blows in our faces. 31-Jul-2019
