Police Called to Dallas Home After Man's Bloody Halloween Display Frightens Neighbors

A Dallas residence has become a hot topic after the homeowner created a bloody massacre display on his front lawn ahead of Halloween.

Steven Novak tells PEOPLE that his terrifying Halloween decor has received ample attention — both good and bad — in his neighborhood, but that he's been loving every second.

Man asked to remove Halloween display deemed ‘detrimental’ to children

A councilman in the UK was asked to remove his outdoor Halloween decorations because they’re “detrimental to the mental health” of kids — and 2020 is terrifying enough.

The holiday killjoy emailed Ashan Jeeawon over the allegedly offensive display — floating skeletons, a trio of witches and an eerie green light — at his Bexhill-on-Sea home in England, Ladbible reported.

“It is my belief that the Halloween celebrations are detrimental to the mental health of many people. In particular of children and the vulnerable,” the person wrote. “There are more than enough things happening in the world to scare people without adding to it with the spectrum of ghosts and witches.

“I would respectfully ask that you take down the display as soon as possible. It is important that we promote a message of hope and not a message of fear.”

These 4 Halloween Candies Are the Worst—But These 15 Are Healthier for You

Okay, so you might be too old to go trick-or-treating now, but Halloween season does mean Halloween candy time. Bonus points if you have a kid or know a kid you can "borrow" some Snickers or Kit Kats from. Candy can be found everywhere this time of year—if you go over to a friend's house, they might have a bowl of fun-sized candy bars, or you might find some in your office (thanks, HR). And if you're really smart about buying candy, you'll be at your local drugstore for discounted candies on November 1 (I know I will be!). Bottom line, you're probably going to be tempted with a lot of sweet treats, so how can you indulge while making sure you're not screwing with your healthy eating plan?

The answer: Let yourself live a little. According to integrative dietitian nutritionist Robin Foroutan, MD, RDN, HHC, a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, "The best Halloween candy to eat is the one that you love the most!" She continues, "Eat it slowly—enjoy the smell, the flavor, and texture—really savor it so that you get maximum enjoyment. "However, she does caution all you candy lovers to eat a healthy snack before heading to a party so you make better choices once you get there. And if there's one special treat you can't wait to eat every year on Halloween, go for it and move on. "Remember," she says, "one meal at a party or one day of eating a bit of candy is not going to ruin your health. Do your best, get the healthy foods and exercise in, and enjoy."

Halloween Is Not Canceled

It’s the season for all things spooky, and you know what people in my line of work think is really scary? A COVID-19 superspreader at a crowded costume party! Boo!

While many epidemiologists like me are currently living out a horror movie version of their careers, we’re also trying to figure out how to make normal life work in a world that seems upside-down. I am also a mom, and Halloween is my favorite holiday. I love the creativity. I love that I can be anything I want for a day with no risk and no commitment. In years past, I have dressed up as the Wicked Witch of the West, the worm from Labyrinth, Luna Girl from PJ Masks, and queen of the zombie prom. So I’m here with good news: Halloween is not canceled.

A rare blue moon will light up the sky on Halloween

Spooky season is almost upon us -- and this year it will be a little bit spookier.

The night sky on Halloween will be illuminated by a blue moon, the second full moon in a month. The relatively rare occurrence happens once every two and a half years on average, according to NASA's National Space Science Data Center.
Every month has a full moon, but because the lunar cycle and the calendar year aren't perfectly synched, about every three years we wind up with two in the same calendar month.

'The Karen' is set to be the most popular Halloween costume of 2020: Party-goers splurge on blonde wigs, 'I Want To Speak To The Manager' t-shirts and $180 face masks to transform into enraged white woman

With Halloween 2020 less than two months away, many Americans are beginning to plan topical outfits to celebrate the occasion.

And while the year has brought no shortage of newly famous figures - from Tiger King's Carole Baskin to White House Coronavirus Task Force Doctor Anthony Fauci - it seems that many will simply be dressing up as a nondescript suburban white woman.

According to an article published in Vice on Wednesday, 'Karen' costumes are set to be the most popular Halloween outfits of 2020.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot says she doesn’t expect ‘mass crowds of trick-or-treating’ this Halloween

On what should have been an epic year for Halloween lovers, with the annual celebration of costumes and candy falling on a Saturday, it seems the coronavirus will be playing the final trick on those seeking treats in Chicago.
Mayor Lori Lightfoot said the city’s looking at how to best celebrate the holiday and doesn’t expect it to look like years past. Lightfoot said the city is working on plans to recognize and celebrate Halloween, but in a way that’s “consistent with the public health guidance.”

SNL: David S. Pumpkins Animated Halloween Special (2017) Bites

If you can make us lose patience with a Tom Hanks character, you are doing it wrong.

You can't diffuse the voices of actors we like to hear, it mutes the point.

It's bad even by a 70's standard. 31-Oct-2017

Michael Jackson's Halloween (2017) No MoonsEarly Exit

The only reason for this exploitation is to celebrate the man's legacy of talent and help us forget the tortured soul who lived by controversy. It fails.

As much as we would like to, his reputation pronounced him short of a hero. 31-Oct-2017

Luke And Leia ‘Fly’ A ‘Star Wars’ Speeder Bike In NYC For Halloween

May the trick-or-treating be with you.

YouTuber Jesse Wellens has conjured another viral winner for Halloween, zipping through New York City with Carmella Rose a la Luke and Leia on a “Star Wars” speeder bike. The customized contraption gives the illusion of flying at times, just like the one in the movies.

Damn, this is fun.

And it isn’t long before a stormtrooper gives chase.
