Black dog owner defends 'Central Park Karen,' says black birdwatcher threatened him as well

Amy Cooper, the white woman who went viral last year as "Central Park Karen" for calling 911 after an interaction with a black birdwatcher, has filed suit against her former employer for wrongful termination. Contained in the suit is an email from black dog owner Jerome Lockett, whose message with NBC News details a similar interaction between himself and Christian Cooper in which the birdwatch allegedly threatened him for having his dog off leash.

Pro-Palestinians throw a 'smoke BOMB' at a group of pro-Israel supporters in NYC's Diamond District and confront Jewish people screaming 'fuck Israel' amid violent clashes in Times Square

One person has a minor burn from the fireworks, and the Arson Investigation Squad and the Midtown North Detective Squad are investigating.

At least 19 people were arrested, The New York Post reported, amid skirmishes between the two sides.

Footage on social media showed agitators from both sides attempting to snatch the other's flag. One pro-Israel protester was punched in the stomach when he fought to retrieve his flag; a pro-Palestine protester has seen in handcuffs after he tried to get his own flag back.

The Draft

A draft is the mandatory enrollment of individuals into the armed forces. The United States military has been all-volunteer since 1973. But an act of Congress could still reinstate the draft in case of a national emergency. The Selective Service System is the agency that registers men and is responsible for running a draft.

Who Must Register with Selective Service

Almost all men age 18-25 who are U.S. citizens or are immigrants living in the U.S. are required to register with Selective Service. Citizens must register within 30 days of turning 18. Immigrants must register within 30 days of arriving in the U.S.

Men in the U.S. on student, visitor, or diplomatic visas and men who are incarcerated are not required to register. For other exemptions and for transgender people, see the Who Must Register (PDF, Download Adobe Reader) chart.

What Happens After You Register with Selective Service

Other than receiving your proof of registration, nothing happens unless there’s a situation requiring a draft.

If Congress and the president authorize a draft:

The Selective Service System will start calling registered men age 18-25 for duty. The men will be called in a sequence determined by random lottery number and year of birth.

The men will be examined for mental, physical, and moral fitness for military service.

They'll either be deferred or exempted from military service or they’ll be inducted into the armed forces.

If you are required to register and you don’t, you will not be eligible for federal student aid, federal job training, or a federal job. You may be prosecuted and face a fine of up to $250,000 and/or jail time of up to five years. If you’re an immigrant to the U.S., you will not be eligible for citizenship.

Biden tells migrants 'don't come over' in ABC News exclusive interview

President Joe Biden said in an exclusive interview with ABC News' George Stephanopoulos on Tuesday that his message to migrants is "Don't come over."

Amid a surge of migrants and unaccompanied minors on the U.S. southern border, Stephanopoulos asked the president, "Do you have to say quite clearly, 'Don't come'?"

"Don't leave your town or city or community," he added.

Bill Maher Finally Says What So Many Think but Are Too Afraid to Say

The people who CAN say something SHOULD say something. I’m old – I have lived a pretty good life so far, all things considered. I now must fight for a better world for my daughter who is coming of age into this psychotic one. She is a creative, brilliant, compassionate, caring person who, like so many of you, has a right to stretch her legs and find some kind of honesty in both the art she receives and the art she makes. But right now, she, like so many others, are being reduced to the ways they can be punished, each and every day for something they do “wrong.” Orwell would call it “wrong think” and we truly are in the era of children spies where we are all constantly being monitored for anything we might say or do to get ourselves shamed publicly or have our platforms removed.

Your choices are to be silent to save yourself, to stand up against it and destroy yourself, or the worst of all of them, to pander to it. Don’t pander to it. If you don’t go along with it, stay silent. Spare yourselves the shame of the future looking back at you and your having to live with having pandered to a force you know in your bones is wrong.

The new slang teens use to insult boys who are 'too nice' to girls

Shannon was used to her socially awkward son being bullied by other boys at the private school he attends in Atlanta.

But when she picked him up from school in mid-January and her eighth grader told her he was being called a "simp," Shannon, who's only using her first name to protect her son's identity, didn't know what to think.

"He's telling me this and I'm driving and I'm trying to make sense of it," she said. "I'd never heard the word."
"He told me, 'It basically means that I'm just being nice to girls because I like them,'" she said. "I was like, wait, my kid is being picked on for being nice to girls?"

Her son had told her he'd recently been put in the "friend zone" by one of the girls, who made it clear she wasn't interested in dating him. They had continued to be friendly.

UK issues anaphylaxis warning on Pfizer vaccine after adverse reactions

Britain’s medicine regulator said anyone with a history of anaphylaxis to a medicine or food should not get the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, giving fuller guidance on an earlier allergy warning about the shot.

Starting with the elderly and frontline workers, Britain began mass vaccinating its population on Tuesday, part of a global drive that poses one of the biggest logistical challenges in peacetime history.

The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) said there had been two reports of anaphylaxis and one report of a possible allergic reaction since rollout began.

“Any person with a history of anaphylaxis to a vaccine, medicine or food should not receive the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine,” MHRA Chief Executive June Raine said in a statement.

Teen collapses after receiving nearly 150 lashes for raping a child

A teenager convicted of raping a child in Indonesia’s most conservative region collapsed during a public whipping that saw him lashed nearly 150 times for violating Islamic law.

The unidentified 19-year-old cried out as a masked officer lashed his back with a rattan stick in the town of Idi Rayeuk in East Aceh on Thursday, according to a report by Agence France Presse.

The teenager was briefly treated by doctors when he pleaded for the caning to stop but the severe punishment continued.

Dearly Beloved, I Miss His Big Dick Energy (But Not His Big Dick)

Dearly Beloved,

I’m 24 and I’m from the suburbs outside of NYC and I’m in love with this guy from some “West Bubble Fuck” area in New Jersey. He’s 29 and has his life somewhat together; however, I can’t trust him. We went out for a few months and I had the best time of my life with him, but my asshole wasn’t happy with his dick size.

Well, his dick is like ten inches long, very thick and I’m just not trying to have a gaping asshole.

The times when I’ve taken enough muscle relaxers, the sex was great, especially the time that we were fucking on the balcony of our hotel suite — that was definitely porn scene material.

Haha. Anyway, after a while having sex with him just became unbearable and I couldn’t manage. He wants to have sex spontaneously and would randomly pull over asking if we could fuck in the car right now. However, having sex with him for me has to be planned so that I won’t feel uncomfortable, but he hated that.

One day I was going through his phone and I saw that he was messaging other guys and meeting up for sex, so I broke up with him.

Time after time, he would hit me up saying he misses me and blah blah, but the truth is that I miss him, too, and not for his dick.

A year later we met up in Manhattan and we hung out, it was clear that he’s been to the gay bars there a lot because a lot of cheap skanks kept coming up to him and left when they saw me with him. The bar scene in NYC was new to me since I never really cared to go before; however, I did learn that I should never wear anything designer to the Ritz again. I even lost my Louis Vuitton bracelet there, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was even stolen.

Anyway, he wants to get back together now, but I think it’s pointless because I can’t handle his dick but I still have feelings for him. What should I do? Please help me…

Best,

Oyster Bay Hunty

Gays Must Stop Cheek-Kissing During the Coronavirus Outbreak

The French call it "la bise." For many gay men, it is a customary greeting at Sunday brunch or any other communal gathering: cheek-kissing, where one or both sides of the face receive a smooch from a friend.

However, such a gesture could help spread the outbreak of COVID-19 (or coronavirus disease), say world health officials, who are cautioning against cheek-kissing, hand-shaking, and high-fives.

8 warning signs that a man is having a midlife crisis

Sports cars and hairpieces. Robbing the cradle and running away. Sure they're cliche, but if these images leap to mind when you hear the words "midlife crisis," you're not alone.

The thing about cliches, though, is most are based on fact. In this case, the facts are staggering. More than half of respondents to a poll on Notmuch.com, a website produced by Wisconsin Public Radio, said that the midlife crisis is a "very real, gut-wrenchingly depressing experience that we all go through at one time or another."

Does this mean that the man in your life is suffering through a crisis of his own? Not necessarily, but here are eight symptoms of the male midlife crisis and what you can do about them:

4. He makes a dramatic change in his personal style or appearance and is suddenly spending lots of time in front of a mirror

If your man has kicked up the vanity a notch (for example, wants hair plugs or starts getting facials even though he used to take pleasure in shower-free weekends), then you may have a problem. If the guy who always prided himself on his Roman nose is now talking about rhinoplasty, then your problem is a little bigger. The first step in boosting your man's bruised (and aging) ego is to compliment him. Sometimes, however, this isn't enough. That's when you just have to be patient.

Unfortunately, an increased sense of vanity is sometimes a sign that a man is having an affair. Obviously this is a bigger problem that usually requires couples counseling to repair the relationship, if it's possible at all.

Gay dating apps Grindr and Romeo can expose user locations, leaving men vunerable to hate crimes

Several of the most popular gay dating apps have flaws that allow their users’ exact locations to be determined, the BBC reports. Researchers from the cyber-security company Pen Test Partners found the flaws in the Grindr, Recon, and Romeo apps.

All of those apps allow users to share their general location by displaying their distance from each other. But while that location information only reveals distance from another user’s current location and not direction, the researchers found anyone with basic computing skills could use that information to determine another user’s exact location using a method known as trilateration. Here’s how the BBC describes the method:

MADONNA SAYS GIVING PHONES TO OLDER CHILDREN ‘ENDED HER RELATIONSHIP WITH THEM’

Madonna has said giving phones to her two eldest children had a hugely negative impact on her relationship with them.

Despite having given 22-year-old Lourdes and 18-year-old Rocco phones when they were in their early teens, Madonna does not plan on doing the same for her 13-year-old son David.

"I'm going to stick that one out for as long as possible, because I made a mistake when I gave my older children phones when they were 13," the Madame X star told Vogue.

"It ended my relationship with them, really."

This Is What Happens to Your Body if You Eat Almost No Carbs

In many ways, refined carbohydrates—bread, pasta, white rice—are like fossil fuels. They contain a lot of energy, they’re cheap to produce, and just when it seems as though supply can't keep up with demand, some technological innovation enables us to extract and produce more of them. And like fossil fuels, the scientific consensus is that an over reliance on refined carbohydrates is going to end badly.

Most people who are interested in cutting carbs out are doing so to lose weight. Anecdotal and scientific research suggests that it’s a pretty good strategy to take to drop some pounds. But carbs aren’t just in the types of food I mentioned above. They’re also hiding out in fruit, vegetables, nuts, seeds, milk, legumes, and plenty else. With that being the case, you can imagine that cutting your carb intake to virtually nothing would be very difficult indeed and—as you'll read in a moment—there’s research suggesting that it’s potentially dangerous. Here are some of the things that would happen if you ditched refined carbs, limited the “good” (or complex) carbs named above and opted to consume butter, bacon, and bourbon to your heart’s content.
