Todd Chrisley's estranged daughter Lindsie Chrisley speaks out on family's legal drama

Lindsie Chrisley is speaking out on the heels of her reality television star dad and his wife being indicted on tax evasion and other federal charges this week.

“Lindsie would like to thank all of her fans and supporters. The circumstances Todd and Julie find themselves in, is quite unfortunate," her Atlanta-based attorney Musa Ghanayem released in a statement on her behalf. “It was reported that Lindsie was the source of the information that led to her father’s arrest. That is untrue."

90 Day Fiance: All The Ways Sumit Singh May Have Conned Jenny Slatten

There are TLC fans who think that Sumit Singh from 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way conned Jenny Slatten into believing his every word. The couple has lost support from fans as they just seem stagnant in their relationship.

The Palm Springs native Jenny Slatten is finally seeing the error of her ways. She left everything behind to move to India for a man who is ruled by his culture and his parents. Fans watched another episode that featured Jenny losing her cool in front of Sumit’s parents. His mother threatened to kill herself if they got married. The reality star knew right then and there she would never marry him.

Sadly, nothing is ever easy for this couple. Sumit has found multiple ways to hold off on proposing to (and marrying) the so-called love of his life. Fans watched the 90 Day Fiancé black sheep of his family call off yet another ring ceremony. This leads TLC fans to believe that he never had any intention of marrying the American.

Woman considers ending relationship over boyfriend’s ‘ludicrous’ request: 'I am concerned for his sanity'

A 25-year-old woman took to Reddit to seek relationship advice after her boyfriend became obsessed with a “ludicrous” business idea.

In a post written on the subreddit r/relationship_advice, user throwa_souptube explained how her boyfriend won’t stop asking her to invest in his “soup tube” business idea.

‘I couldn’t believe what I was hearing’

“The idea, if you can call it that, is to construct a series of tubes throughout the city that leads to centralized soup kitchens,” she explained. “For a monthly subscription, a customer can ‘subscribe to a tube of soup,’ and a tube extension would be built off the nearest mainline tube and directly into the customer apartment or home.”

An Atlanta man who pretended to be gay in order to befriend a lesbian has been convicted of raping her in 2015.

Scammers are tricking people out of enormous payments as they're about to close on a house

It's a nightmare scenario for any homebuyer: the day before closing, a scammer manages to trick you into wiring your down payment to an offshore account. You lose your hard-earned money and you lose the house, and there's no way you can get either one back.

That's how some criminals have adapted the common "business email compromise" scam – so-named because it used to almost exclusively target businesses – to focus on individuals, especially people who are involved in a pending real estate transaction.

Noted Competent Man Scott Pruitt’s Latest Scandal Involves Chick-fil-A

Beleaguered Environmental Protection Agency Chief Scott Pruitt — who’s currently under more than a dozen ethical investigations surrounding everything from travel expenses to lobbying rules to housing arrangements to mattress purchases — at least thinks of others from time to time. Today, the Washington Post reports that among the slew of potential ethics violations committed after he took office, Pruitt once enlisted an EPA aide to try to land his wife a Chick-fil-A franchise.

According to WaPo, Pruitt requested a meeting with Chick-fil-A CEO Dan Cathy. Though that phone call never took place, Pruitt did speak to a member of the Chick-fil-A legal department to express “interest in his wife becoming a Chick-fil-A franchisee,” company representative Carrie Kurlander told the Post. Marlyn Pruitt apparently started, but never completed, the official application.

A Millionaire Mindset Never Made Anyone Rich

The past three decades of minimal real wage growth have led some people to wonder why they haven't gotten ahead. And in much the same way that nature abhors a vacuum, con artists hate missing an opportunity to separate suckers from their money. This might explain why we see a special class of self-help gurus -- none of whom were rich until they developed this particularly odious grift -- who have dedicated themselves to convincing people that if you only believe it, it can happen. Typical of the genre are platitudes like this:

What’s the main thing that separates the rich from the poor? Ask any of the financially free people, and they will tell you the same: their mindset.

Climate change's impact on human health is already here — and is 'potentially irreversible,' report says

Climate change is already having an extraordinary impact on human health worldwide — affecting the spread of infectious diseases, exposing millions to air pollution and heat waves and dramatically reducing labor productivity, according to a report released Monday.

"The human symptoms of climate change are unequivocal and potentially irreversible," the report by the British medical journal The Lancet says, and the situation is so serious that significant gains by modern medicine and technology are being undercut.

"The delayed response to climate change over the past 25 years has jeopardized human life and livelihoods," the report says.

Wi-Fi security has been breached, say researchers

At about 7AM ET this morning, researchers revealed details of a new exploit called KRACK that takes advantage of vulnerabilities in Wi-Fi security to let attackers eavesdrop on traffic between computers and wireless access points. The exploit, as first reported by Ars Technica, takes advantage of several key management vulnerabilities in the WPA2 security protocol, the popular authentication scheme used to protect personal and enterprise Wi-Fi networks. “If your device supports Wi-Fi, it is most likely affected,” say researchers.

So yeah, this is bad.

The United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team issued the following warning in response to the exploit:

New Class-Action Lawsuit Accuses Chefs of No-Tipping 'Conspiracy'

The no-tipping movement has always faced some backlash—but now it's facing a lawsuit.

According to Law360, a class-action lawsuit filed in California on Friday is targeting several big-name restaurants in New York and the Bay Area. Among the defendants are no-tipping advocates Danny Meyer and Momofuku's David Chang, who are considered pioneers in the movement to raise fixed, hourly wages, rather than making servers rely on tips for a living wage. The complaint alleges that restaurant owners are holding secret meetings and eliminating tips for the sole purpose of raising prices as part of a vast anti-competitive conspiracy.

Don't fall for this Netflix phishing scam

Today's big phishing scam: Netflix accounts. In the past 24 hours, customers have been receiving emails purporting to be from Netflix soliciting their account information.

WGN reports the scam emails inform users their accounts have been disabled, and it recommends they update their payment details.

"We're having some trouble with your current billing information," the emails read. "We'll try again, but in the meantime you may want to update your payment details."

The email directs them to a "Login Page" where they are asked to enter account information.

Texas Just Won’t Stop Trying To Force ‘Fetal Burial’ Rules On Women

Anti-choice legislators in Texas are continuing to try and jam through a regulation that would require so-called “fetal funerals” after abortions, even though a federal district court judge already blocked a similar measure in the state.

Senate Bill 8 ? which passed the Texas House of Representatives over the weekend ? is a wide-ranging anti-abortion bill that would, among other things, require all health facilities that treat pregnant women to dispose of embryonic and fetal remains that are “passed” or “delivered” via burial or cremation ? regardless of patients’ wishes. That means that women who miscarry in a medical facility would also be subject to the rule.

Lawmakers backing the bill are seemingly unfazed that a federal district court already blocked a similar requirement after The Center for Reproductive Rights sued the state of Texas in December. The judge in that case was critical of the regulation, saying it could be a “pretext for restricting abortion access.”

Is 'fake news' fooling kids? New report says yes

If you wondered whether we need to do more to help our kids recognize "fake news," a new report makes it clear the answer is a resounding yes.

Although 44% of tweens and teens in a recent survey said they can tell the difference between fake news stories and real ones, more than 30% who said they shared a news story online during the past six months admitted that they didn't get it exactly right.

They said they later found out that a story they shared was wrong or inaccurate, according to the survey by Common Sense Media, a nonprofit organization focused on helping parents, kids and educators negotiate media and technology.
