George Michael’s ex caught smashing his way into the late star’s home
George Michael’s ex was busted for smashing his way into the late pop star’s London home — just days before the fourth anniversary of the singer’s Christmas Day death, according to reports.
Troubled hairstylist Fadi Fawaz, 47, was confronted Tuesday morning after breaking a window to get into the “Last Christmas” star’s empty $6.75 million home, the Sun said.
“This is my place. George wanted me to have it,” he allegedly yelled at officers who arrived at the house that Fawaz was kicked out of by Michael’s family last year, the UK paper said.

What do so many mass shooters have in common? A hatred of women
The suspect in Thursday’s Gazette shootings began stalking a former high school classmate back in 2009. The last time he would have seen her was a decade before.
This is but one of several recent mass killings motivated, in large part, by an overwhelming rage against women.
The Gazette shooter found the woman on Facebook and sent a seemingly innocent message, thanking her for being “the only person ever to say hello or be nice to me in school.”
Note the self-pity disguised as gratitude.

New York City Police To Stop Removing Religious People's Headwear
The New York Police Department (NYPD) will no longer remove religious people's headwear—such as turbans, hijabs, kippahs or habits—when taking their mugshots, according to a new settlement announced on Monday.
The changed policy, which takes effect in 60 days, is the result of a class-action lawsuit filed on March 16, 2018 by Arwa Aziz and Jamilla Clark, two Muslim women. The women said the NYPD's policy of removing religious headwear violated their religious rights and left them in tears and shame following their separate encounters with police.

The secret gay history of Islam
Islam once considered homosexuality to be one of the most normal things in the world.
The Ottoman Empire, the seat of power in the Muslim world, didn’t view lesbian or gay sex as taboo for centuries. They formally ruled gay sex wasn’t a crime in 1858.
But as Christians came over from the west to colonize, they infected Islam with homophobia.
The truth is many Muslims alive today believe the prophet Muhammad supported and protected sexual and gender minorities.
But go back to the beginning, and you’ll see there is far more homosexuality in Islam than you might have ever thought before.
Ancient Muslim borrowed culture from the boy-loving Ancient Greeks:
The Islamic empires, (Ottoman, Safavid/Qajar, Mughals), shared a common culture. And it shared a lot of similarities with the Ancient Greeks.
Persianate cultures, all of them Muslim, dominated modern day India and Arab world. And it was very common for older men to have sex with younger, beardless men. These younger men were called ‘amrad’.

Why racist politics appeals to white women, explained by American history
“What is wrong with white women?” Moira Donegan asked at the Guardian after last week’s midterm elections.
“Why do half of them so consistently vote for Republicans, even as the Republican party morphs into a monstrously ugly organization that is increasingly indistinguishable from a hate group?”
Questions about white women’s allegiances came to the fore again this week, when news broke that a white woman senator facing a runoff in Mississippi had made a joke on the campaign trail about attending a “public hanging.”
Progressives sometimes expect white women, as a group, to support the interests of people of color of all genders — after all, women know what discrimination feels like.
“Most of us continue to see white women through the lens of gender,” explained Stephanie E. Jones-Rogers, a history professor at UC Berkeley and the author of the forthcoming book They Were Her Property: White Women as Slave Owners in the American South. “This allows for us to be optimistic about the possibility that their gendered oppression will allow for them to find common cause with other dispossessed groups.”
But that common cause has been elusive.

Shop owner shouted 'long live pussy' and threw man out of his shop for being gay
More gay couples have shared their homophobic experiences about a shop in Venice after a viral Facebook post.
On 5 September Tito Palaia, 24, visited a well known Ventian fine art store called, Studio d’Arte Vio. When there he asked the shop owner if all the products were made in Venice.
The owner replied: ‘What do you think? We avoid silly, useless questions like that.’
Put off by the man’s response, Palaia decided to leave the shop. But as he turned to leave the man allegedly started shouting, ‘long live pussy’.
‘Do you understand?’ he asked Palaia.

Florida’s plan for bullied LGBTQ kids? Send them to Christian schools.
This past March, Florida became the first state to create a private school voucher program just for bullied students.
The Hope Scholarship Program gives students who report being bullied $6,700 towards tuition at a private school, or $750 for transportation to another public school.
Anti-bullying activists in Florida opposed the bill, pointing out that bullying occurs in private schools at about the same rate as it does in public schools, that bullies will just pick new targets if their victims leave, and that private schools aren’t closely regulated when it comes to bullying so students will find they have few tools to remedy a situation at a private school.

Sexual Harassment of Young Male Performers Is an Industry-Wide Problem
Shortly after Bryan Schwandt — owner of the twink porn studio BoyCrush — was accused by three of his porn performers of rape, coercion and harassment in late April, a fourth performer, Cole Claire, came forward with similar accusations (link NSFW). Schwandt announced his retirement from the company (link NSFW), but former gay porn director Kevin Clarke says that sexual misconduct with performers is an industry-wide problem that can’t be fixed by performers alone.

Canadian Couple Loses Custody of Child After Using Stuffed Animal as Lawyer
A Canadian couple with extreme Christian views has lost custody of their daughter in a battle where they used a stuffed toy lion as their lawyer, witness, and judge. According to the Vancouver Sun, the couple claimed the stuffed animal transmitted the word of God. They refused other legal council, arguing that Jesus Christ via the toy lion was sufficient for their case.
This strange case began back in November, when the Provincial Court of British Columbia declared the parents unfit and the then one-year-old girl in need of protection. The parents appealed the decision to the B.C. Supreme Court on the grounds that the case violated their Charter rights and discriminated against them as Christians.
