Cody Latimer’s arrest set off by argument involving 4-year-old son: lawyer
A sexual assault allegation involving Cody Latimer’s 4-year-old son sparked a heated argument over the weekend that left the Washington Redskins wide receiver facing multiple felony charges, his lawyer said during a Monday hearing.
Latimer, who was released on $25,000 bond, was charged with assault in the second degree, menacing and illegal discharge of a firearm in Colorado, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Department. He also is facing misdemeanor charges of prohibited use of a weapon and reckless endangerment.

NEWS HEADLINES: Surveillance Videos Show Ahmaud Arbery Trespassed Into Man’s Home Before Shooting
Newly released surveillance videos show Ahmaud Arbery trespassed into a home — which the homeowner says was robbed of $2,500 worth of fishing gear earlier this year — before running away down the street after a neighbor called 911.
Arbery can be seen walking down the street — not jogging — then stopping on homeowner Larry English’s lawn and looking around. After seeing no one was in the area, he then trespassed into the house at around 2:09 p.m. on the timestamp, which is actually most likely around 1:08 p.m as police said the first neighbor to call 911 did so at 1:08 p.m. Arbery is seen exiting the building around 5 minutes later and took off running or “jogging” after 911 had been called on him (possibly by the onlooking man who is seen standing next to a tree across the street that appears to be holding a phone up to his left ear and likely would have been in Arbery’s view).

Aunty Kiki took them to a compound where she handed them over to an elderly woman she called "Mma" and told the girls to do whatever the woman asked of them.
"The compound had two flats of three bedrooms each, filled with young girls, some of them pregnant," says Miriam. "Aunty Kiki said it was where we'd be working."
At first, the girls thought their jobs were to clean the compound and do household chores as Aunty Kiki had led them to believe. Their new employers, however, had other ideas.
"Mma asked that we stay alone in separate rooms for that first night," Miriam explains. "We were surprised because the other girls in the compound were sharing rooms, some of which had four people in them."
Late that night, according to Miriam, a man walked into her room, ordered her to take off her clothes, held her hands tightly, and raped her.
The same thing happened to Roda, but her rapist was much more brutal.
Home Secretary Priti Patel admits 7% increase in knife crime is 'appalling' and says London Mayor Sadiq Khan 'should be doing more'
Priti Patel yesterday conceded the latest rise in knife crime was 'appalling' - as she vowed a tough new approach.
In a frank admission, the Home Secretary said that an overall fall in recorded crime could not mask the misery caused by a sharp rise in knife offences, which are at a record high.
Official figures released last month showed that knife crimes in England and Wales rose by 7 per cent last year to 45,627.
The figure represents a 49 per cent rise on 2011, when comparable records began.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Miss Patel said the figures were 'terrible' but vowed a tough new approach which would mean thugs caught with a knife 'going down'.

Former CBS Reporter Lara Logan Revisits Terrifying 2011 Rape by Mob in Egypt Amidst $25 Million Lawsuit
Lara Logan is recounting her horrific 2011 rape in Egypt while she was covering the resignation of then-president Hosni Mubarak.
Logan, 49, opened up about the ordeal in an interview with Newsweek on Monday, telling the outlet that she wants to tell her story again as part of a bigger discussion about the media.
“You can’t have a #MeToo movement standing up for women and righting the wrongs of the past but say nothing about a female journalist who was gang-raped and almost died,” she said.
Logan, who was in Cairo at the time working as a journalist for CBS News, said that at first, the crowd she was in seemed “pro-American.”
“Suddenly, our translator turned to me with a look of sheer terror and said, ‘Run, run!’ I felt people grabbing between my legs,” she recalled. “I was quite stunned.”

Mexican singer says he was trafficked and abused as a teenager
Luis Armando Campos says singing is his life. At 23, he's already had a very impressive singing career that started when he was just a child in his native Tampico, a port city in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas.
"I was about 11, almost 12, when I first appeared on a local TV show in Tampico," Campos said.
In 2014, he was a semi-finalist in "The Voice Mexico." The international reality singing competition franchise took his career to new levels. Even though he didn't win, Campos has since toured Mexico with his music. But what his increasing number of fans didn't know, Campos says, is that while his career was taking off, he was forced to live a double life -- as a sex slave.

Monster who left baby girl needing surgery after ‘severe’ sex attack jailed
A monster who left a 1-year-old girl needing surgery after a “severe” sex attack, and then tried to blame her mom, has been jailed.
Alan Kusz, 43, commit the vile offense at the 14-month-old infant’s family home in Ayrshire, Scotland, in April 2018, the High Court in Glasgow heard.
The court also heard how Kusz then tried to blame the infant’s mother for the injuries, which a doctor disturbingly described as the “most severe” he had ever seen.
When cops apprehended Kusz, who was often in the company of the child and her mom, he said that he had left the baby and her mother one evening to walk his dog.
He claimed he only returned when he heard the girl “screaming.”

Gabrielle Walsh, 18, said she was with a male friend in the early hours walking home from a club in Manchester when three men approached them.
“I’d taken my shoes off and this guy came over and said, ‘I like your feet’. I just said, ‘OK,’ and we tried to walk away,” she told the Manchester Evening News, showing off her horribly swollen left eye from this weekend’s alleged attack.
“They kept walking behind trying to talk to me. Eventually, I turned around and said, ‘I’m sorry, I’m not interested,’ ” she claimed.

Police break up 400-person 'modern day slavery' ring in U.K.
Details about what prosecutors have called one of Britain's largest-ever modern day slavery rings have emerged with the conviction of eight people originally from Poland.
Prosecutors say more than 400 victims were forced to work for minuscule wages while their masters earned some 2 million pounds ($2.5 million) and lived a luxurious lifestyle. Reporting restrictions were lifted Friday, allowing details to be published.
The group preyed on the homeless, former convicts and alcoholics in Poland and lured them to Britain with false promises of well-paid work. Some ended up being paid less than $1 for a day's work and were held in squalid conditions.
A Look At The Staggering Sexual Harassment Numbers In The Legal Profession
A new international survey reveals that sexual harassment in the legal profession is truly at epidemic proportions. The survey, with almost 7,000 respondents, was conducted by the International Bar Association and market research company Acritas and asked both lawyers and nonlawyers in the legal profession from 135 countries questions about sexual harassment and bullying within the industry. The results are disheartening, to say the least.
Over a third of women — 36.6 percent of women and 7.4 percent of men — say they’ve been victims of sexual harassment. When in comes to bullying nearly 1 in 2 women say they’ve been a target, compared with 1 in 3 men who say the same.

Migrant 10-year-old sexually assaulted, given drugs in custody, lawsuit says
A Guatemalan father filed a lawsuit against two nonprofits housing migrant children, claiming his 10-year-old son was given “powerful psychotropic drugs” without parental consent and sexually assaulted by another child during his time in government custody.
The father, identified only as J. E. B., claimed in the lawsuit filed in state court in Texas last week that both Southwest Key and Shiloh Treatment Center in Texas “acted with fraud, malice, and gross neglect” in their treatment of his son.
The lawsuit also claims that the boy, identified as F.C.B. in the suit, was subjected to physical assault, false imprisonment and intentional infliction of emotional distress by both facilities.

CALIFORNIA MAN CONVICTED OF USING UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS FOR FORCED LABOR
The owner of a construction companies in California was convicted of committing forced labor, according to a Monday press release from the United States Attorney's Office from the Northern District of California.
Job Torres Hernandez, 38, was convicted on one count of "forced labor" and one count of "harboring illegal aliens for commercial advantage or private financial gain," according to the press release.
Job Torres recruited workers from Mexico, who he forced to live in poor conditions and did not pay, the statement said. Undocumented immigrants, identified in court documents by their initials, testified at trial about the conditions. They said they were forced to work 24-hour shifts, lived in a commercial warehouse and a garage in Hayward and were restricted in using bathrooms and showers.
A superseding indictment, filed in December, said Hernandez obtained the labor of his employees by "physical restraint and threats of force, threats of serious harm, means of abuse and threatened abuse of law and legal process and means of a scheme, plan and pattern intended to cause his employees to believe that if they did not perform such labor or services, they would suffer serious harm."
6 Sneaky Signs a Trusted Adult Could Be a Child Sexual Abuser
Michael Jackson is now deceased and consequently he will never be convicted in a court of law, but many of Jackson’s alleged behaviors were typical of those exhibited by child sexual offenders who use grooming behaviors. Grooming behaviors are the behaviors and techniques a sexual offender employs so that they can engage in abuse without detection. Grooming behaviors are directed toward the intended victim, the child’s parents or guardians and the community at large. They generally follow a series of stages that may include selecting a vulnerable victim, gaining access to the child, developing trust of the child and their guardians, and desensitizing the child to sexual touch so the abuse can take place without detection. However, many of these grooming behaviors also overlap with behaviors that caring, involved adults engage in and thus it is often hard for adults to recognize them before abuse takes place.
The following behaviors could be potential indications of grooming.
