Police seeing uptick in out-of-state, country criminals...

“I would say it’s alarming the amount of crimes that we’re seeing and the severity of them,” said Officer Tiffany Mitchell with St. George police. “What we’re seeing is South American crime groups coming in and victimizing our community.”

Mitchell said they’re seeing thefts from gym lockers and "smash & grabs" at trailheads. She’s reminding visitors and residents alike to keep valuable property on their person rather than storing it in a vehicle or "hidden away."

Shay Abergil, 34, a paratrooper reservist, says gay and lesbian Israelis now have a “complicated relationship” with the LGBTQ community outside Israel.

“We always hear New York Pride being such a great and fun event, but then you have these protests and activists that make the event less fun, it’s even dangerous to wear a Star of David or speak Hebrew out loud,” Abergil added.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024)

Taylor-Joy shared her thoughts by creating a narrative we could understand, sparkling eyes wasn't given enough artillery to establish a heartfelt character that could pump the breaks and let you feel, Hemsworth establishes that his Thor-type villain is not to be fucked with, the director's vision infected the tech crew. They lived up to expectations. Action sequences were bombastic and artistic. The war scenes confused but they didn't disappoint. The mythology skipped key details that would have granted an Anna/Charlize showdown. I needed more information to explain how a girl succeeds in a filthy society that wants to purge. (I would have made little and middle Furiosa big Furiosa's daughters and have one of her instant love interests be the questionable father.) The team-up would be awesome. There wasn't enough odyssey to landscape the people but it sure looked great. 24-Aug-2024

"Hinduphobia"

The cluster of anti-Indian and anti-Hindu incidents come soon after the release of a recent study from Rutgers University’s Network Contagion Lab that found that anti-Hindu feeling is on the rise. In a briefing on Thursday hosted by the Coalition of Hindus of North America, Joel Finkelstein, the project’s lead researcher, pointed to memes and online social cyber signals referring to perceived “dirty” and “scamming” qualities of Hindus, as well as depictions of Hindus being brutalized. Many of the memes, he said, were manufactured out of commonly used tropes against Jewish people, using tilaks, swastikas and bindis to signify Hindu culture.

All Quiet On The Western Front (2022)

The details identified were gratifyingly fresh. The movie is relentless from beginning to end, setting up the dreams of boys as they're woked into becoming men in a war that could have been avoided. The significance that war is not a boys game runs throughout. War creates toxic men and brave soldiers with hell in their dreams. The politics were presented with the right amount of exposure and clarity. I understood it. A great musical score minimizes itself so the story can sing. It sang with an orchestra. Ethnic cleansing documented in western Tigray

A 23-year-old Tigrayan trader told investigators how he was beaten up and left for dead in Rawyan by a patrol of Amhara Special Forces, who said: "We will erase you from this land. This land is ours. This is the last time a Tigrayan will live in the area."

At this time Jamila told how some Amhara militiamen came into her hair salon in the town of Dansha early one morning as she was working. The 27-year-old was raped in front of her children, aged seven and two: "They said: 'You Tigrayans should disappear from the land west of Tekeze.'"

This refers to the River Tekeze, which splits the western zone of Tigray from the rest of the region.

Once in control of western Tigray, interviewees said the new authorities banned the speaking of Tigrinya and put in place policies to push Tigrayans out, distributing leaflets with a 24-hour or 72-hour ultimatum to leave or be killed.
