Black students reported being shown images of lynchings, hearing the N-word and having to endure classmates using Blackface. Multiple girls reported being sexualised, sexually harassed and even raped.

Report: LGBTQ+ Men and Women Raped, Abused In Syrian Conflict
Gay and bisexual men in Syria, along with transgender women, have been suffering horrific sexual violence in that nation during its multisided civil war, as documented in a new Human Rights Watch report.
“Since the Syrian conflict began in March 2011, men and boys and transgender women have been subjected to rape and other forms of sexual violence by the Syrian government and non-state armed groups, including the extremist armed group Islamic State (also known as ISIS),” says the report, “They Treated Us in Monstrous Ways”: Sexual Violence Against Men, Boys, and Transgender Women in the Syrian Conflict, released Wednesday. “Heterosexual men and boys are vulnerable to sexual violence in Syria, but men who are gay or bisexual — or perceived to be — and transgender women are particularly at risk.”
Naila, a 21-year-old transgender woman, said she was gang-raped in prison while a minor. “They brought the stick of a mop and they inserted it in our anus,” she said. “A strong bleeding started, and we were mutilated.”

A former Catholic priest in the south Indian state of Kerala, who is serving a life term for raping and impregnating a minor, asked to post bail to marry the survivor and take care of their child.
Robin Vadakkumchery, 54, was arrested in February 2017, for raping the minor girl on several occasions in 2016. The then 16-year-old girl—a student with the school attached to the church he was a vicar at—went on to give birth to a baby boy on February 7, 2017, in a private hospital after complaining of stomach pain.

15 female ex-Redskins employees allege sexual harassment, bombshell report says
Fifteen female former employees who worked for the Redskins told The Washington Post that they were sexually harassed while working for the organization, the newspaper published in a bombshell report Thursday.
According to The Post, the team declined a request to release 15 of the former female employees from non-disclosure agreements so they could speak on the record.
EX-REDSKIN TWEETS CRYPTIC MESSAGE AMID RUMORS OF PENDING BOMBSHELL
Emily Applegate, who worked as a marketing coordinator before leaving in 2015, was the only woman who spoke to the newspaper on the record about her experience working for the Redskins. The allegations, which reportedly ran from 2006 to 2019, would fall under unwelcome overtures or comments of a sexual nature, and exhortations to wear revealing clothing and flirt with clients to close sales deals, the paper reported.
"It was the most miserable experience of my life," Applegate told The Post. "And we all tolerated it, because we knew if we complained -- and they reminded us of this -- there were 1,000 people out there who would take our job in a heartbeat."

Kevin Connolly Accused of Sexual Assault by Gardener of Eden Costume Designer
Gracie Cox, a former Hollywood costume designer with credits including Orange Is the New Black and Gossip Girl, is speaking out about an alleged 2005 sexual assault by Kevin Connolly during the wrap party for his directorial debut, The Gardener of Eden. She detailed her experience with the Entourage star to the Daily Beast. Cox said that Connolly had been “mildly flirtatious” with her during the Gardener of Eden shoot — her first time working on a feature film — and he asked her to have a smoke during a celebration at the since-closed Manhattan restaurant Butter. Cox said she “didn’t want to be rude,” so she went with him, though she didn’t smoke. Connolly allegedly took her to a separate lounge in the restaurant, proceeded to kiss her, and then, she said, “pulled down my pants, and turned me around, and within no time was inside of me.” Cox said Connelly didn’t use a condom and ejaculated inside her.
The 'war on women' didn't stop when South Africa locked down over Covid-19
Khayelitsha, South Africa (CNN) The shack sits just down a narrow dirt alleyway, visible from a main road in Khayelitsha, near Cape Town. This is where the suspected killer is alleged to have hidden the body of his girlfriend, packed in between a corrugated iron siding and a concrete wall, just feet away from where he lived.
Prosecutors say he put 36-year-old Sibongiseni Gabada's corpse in a bag and covered it with garbage.
Gabada was missing for two weeks before her body was found. Every day people would walk past, until finally the smell of decomposing remains became stronger than the stench of the trash piled on top.
"When the people asked what is going on there. He said, 'No, it is rubbish, I am going to throw it away.' That is the kind of person he was -- an animal," says Gabada's grandmother, Mavis Gabada.
She gingerly moves forward to stare at the spot, sobbing. "Why was my granddaughter killed like a dog?" she asks.

National Sexual Assault Hotline sees record demand during pandemic. Many reaching out are children.
Many of them call when they feel there is nowhere else to turn.
The girl whose brother was brought home by the pandemic and began to abuse her again. The victim separated from her favorite teacher after a coronavirus-related school closure. The child who urgently needed help calling 911.
As the coronavirus pandemic has engulfed the country, more children are reaching out to the Rape Abuse and Incest National Network's National Sexual Assault Hotline, which said this week it's experiencing its highest demand for services in its 26-year history. In May and June, half of visitors to RAINN's online hotline, which sees some of the most urgent cases, were minors.
"Their safety net collapsed during this period," said RAINN president Scott Berkowitz. "Normally the first people to spot signs of abuse are adults outside the immediate family. Teachers and guidance counselors and the parents of friends. Once kids were cut off from that support group, we've seen in a lot of states that reports to child abuse authorities have declined."

Black Trans Inmate Allegedly Raped, Abused, Punished for Reporting
A Black trans woman is claiming in court she was set up by prison staff after reporting she had been the victim of rape and sexual abuse. C. Jay Smith, 59, filed the suit in federal court on Monday, alleging staff at San Quentin State prison in Northern California allowed other prisoners to rape and abuse her, then retaliated when she filed a complaint.
The suit alleges prison guards “allowed multiple men in custody to rape Ms. Smith repeatedly over four consecutive days” in 1998. She was violently raped again in 2013 by a person who “attacked from behind,” leaving her with “even more severe symptoms of PTSD."

Commentary: ‘Karen’ is an easy target. The truth about white nationalism is much worse
Karen is a woman of many faces.
She’s the furious shopper who pitches a tantrum — and her grocery basket — at Trader Joe’s employees when they ask her to comply with state regulations and wear a mask. She’s the dog walker who erupts when a Black man requests she leash her pet, weaponizing her 911 call to make a false claim: “An African American man is threatening my life!” She’s the defiant grandmother who aggressively sits on another motorist’s car to stop them from getting a parking spot she wants.
The embodiment of white female privilege, she may be the most obsessively watched meme of this particularly fraught moment in our nation’s history.

Mayor Lightfoot calls violence against the city’s children personal, as one person is charged in weekend shooting death of 7-year-old girl
Mayor Lori Lightfoot on Monday said she wants “all of us to feel this loss” after another weekend of violence in Chicago yet again took a toll on the city’s children, including the killing of a 7-year-old girl.
Lightfoot said she outlined an “all hands on deck” strategy on Thursday to head off another weekend of bloodshed, a plan that included police and street outreach groups. And yet, “we still saw a four-day weekend of 87 Chicagoans shot, 17 Chicagoans killed, and two of them children. Our children,” the mayor said at a news briefing.

'It Is Painful, But It Is Right': Father Ordered Son To Turn Himself In After Discovering Rape Confession
A father in the United Kingdom who ordered his son to turn himself in after learning he admitted to raping a girl said he has no regrets after the teenager was sentenced to register as a sex offender.
"I would do the same thing again. I would have to because that is my moral standing on it. It is painful, but it is right," Jonathan Evans, 47, said of telling his 18-year-old son Jack to turn himself in to police, according to British outlet The Mirror.
The attack took place in January 2019 in Pontypool, Wales, but the victim never reported the rape to police. Jack Evans' parents learned about the attack after he sent an apology to the victim two months later via text, according to the BBC.
