S1E1. Colin delivers a towering performance in a series whose only connection to the DC world is the names. It's predictable gangster angst for people with amnesia who no longer remember comics or original gangsters. 20-Sep-2024
Hell Camp: Teen Nightmare (2023) 
Family revolt begins as soon as babies reach understanding. Parents are at their wits end because their babies are enjoying sex, drugs, jail, theft and hating them (for lying about everything.) The parents become fearful because when they did it to them they were babies. An influential is selling a solution. Bootcamp for kids. Parents will do anything to get someone else to parent their children. The influencer gains recognition and success but complaints about child abuse keep arising. The kids face death, rape, torture and negligence. The director keeps it focused on specific victims but I was ready for more. They treated the influencer as a beloved comic book villain with a billion likes. Everybody made the assumption that a man that tricks his way through life never intended things to go as far as they did and he didn't rape that child. It was the cream. He slid. Parents lay blame on everyone but themselves. They tipped the human scale by not trying the boot camp first. You can't solve a family problem with only one member. 30-Dec-2023
The pacing was slow but I was patient. The cast were trying to create authentic characters and the lead was stalkable. That helps because you have to follow them and little Nic Cage a lot. It veered seldom from work, concentrated on personalities and the history that made them toxic. I wished the repairs had finished. Bonds seem stronger at work because they are constantly there. Creation flows when your personal life loses its seeds. S2E6 changed everything. I couldn't bear it. The episode was a spectacle of questionable art. I woke up from my coma to ask myself if I was being fooled. Did the jar spill beans instead of pearls? Was the lead hot or just in need of a bath? The same problems kept arising. Repetition with an artsy flair. I couldn't finish the episode, the show or the dinner. 11-Sep-2023

Fran Leibowitz condemns men who wear caps (alopecia), shorts (because exposing our dicks is not a legal option) and pajamas (a man must present like Hercules to conquer the sheets). It cared more about the legacy of melodrama than it did about the dynasty of magic. Likable girls, top-notch bi-color twinks, the doctor from Nurse Jackie caused a ruckus and the gay guy from Downton Abbey played a rugged soldier with a tenderness for twinks. The premise was perfectly set but the crux was missing. Why does fire kill the Burned Ones? Did my RPG brain malfunction? The only way fire can beat fire is if someone drains it. I quit after two episodes for its robotic love story and for making a half, feel like a full hour. If its purpose is to instruct us on how to navigate teen angst, sex and love, I can't empathize. By twelve, I and most of my brethren were already bona fide sluts (thanks, daddies) and my input wasn't necessary. It reeks of social parenting, enforcement and naive privilege. The writers believe that if you preach hard enough, it will spill into reality. Daisy Edgar-Jones is neither ugly, weirdly or enticing enough to elaborate on an inconsistent sketch of a girl who is written to be all of those things. It's hypocritical. Paul Mescal is wasting his beautiful ass, nobody else matters and nothing happens. 05-May-2020

A propaganda film correcting past inequalities by imposing modern thoughts and politics into the mouth of history.
It preaches incessantly because we can no longer be inspired by people's lives as they lived it but how we now prefer it. (Good change comes when we learn from past mistakes, not when we erase them.)
Diversity exists as a pulpit, never integrating or understanding their purpose. Brother and sister needed to bring the humility, homework and incandescence that would compel us to believe they deserve the success they aspire to. Ms. Wong (Michelle Krusiec) completed her homework.
Rock Hudson, Vivien Leigh and Tallulah Bankhead portrayals. The ginormity of man beauty that was the Rock, is diminished when his facsimile stands shoulder to shoulder with Mira Sorvino and when he portrays him like a dork. Vivien was a cartoon transformer shifting from beauty to accent in a manic state. She needed to be all of it. Tallulah is actually very simple to study. You watch her one hour episode of I Love Lucy and follow it up with Bette Davis in All About Eve, legitimizing her. Too busy, huh?
The film within a film seemed abysmal.
I found it offensive that a black woman was portraying a white woman's life. It's like a man portraying a trans.
Free rein to rearrange is exciting only if it follows the rules of its generation. 03-May-2020

The silences were as creepy as the perjury. The individuals allowed the worst to happen to them because they misconstrued social media's message of full acceptance. When danger is involved, you allow mental clarity to check in, not ask it to make you blind. It was an unintentional Halloween special that intrigued and horrified with no special thought. I tuned in as radio while I prepared dinner. I missed the first hour because there was important wine to drink but I tuned at the beginning of the second. Almost everything I hated won. Hollywood creates realistic art but has trouble appearing realistic. Billy added flair and Halsey held my attention, everything else was soap.
