I asked my daughter's teachers not to call her a boy... they reported me to social services
‘I’d read up on gender identity and reassured her she could be as gender non-conforming as she wanted, but I wasn’t going to let her harm her body. She was still developing. So, I wondered if the change of name was connected to this.’
When she phoned her daughter’s co-educational state secondary school, the receptionist claimed the name change ‘must be a mistake’.

Last month, Gwyneth Paltrow got herself into a bit of parenting pickle with her daughter Apple on Instagram when she shared a ski selfie of her and the teen with her 5.4 million followers. Apparently, she did not receive permission to post the photo, which irked the 14-year-old.
“Mom we have discussed this,” Apple, whose own profile is private, shared in the comments section of Paltrow’s post. “You may not post anything without my consent.”
The media jumped on the story of the “nonconsensual selfie” ? a tale that dovetailed nicely with another news story centered on a celeb oversharer that developed a few days later, when the singer Pink drew the ire of some on the internet after sharing an image of her 2-year-old son, sans diaper. In a second revised post, a strategic black scribble covered the toddler’s private parts.

Court may bar British man from having sex with wife
A British man may reportedly be barred from having sex with his wife of 20 years because social services bosses claim she no longer has the mental capacity to consent.
Officials told the Court of Protection in London — which specializes in cases involving people who lack the mental capacity to make decisions — the unidentified woman’s mental health has deteriorated to the point that she no longer has the ability to consent.
According to Sky News, the attorneys representing social services bosses are requesting the judge consider barring the woman’s husband from continuing to have sex with his wife to ensure she is not raped.

Breaking the silence: Talking to young kids about sexual assault and consent
Talking about #MeToo and the events of this week with anyone can be emotionally grueling and deeply triggering (particularly if you have been a victim of sexual assault). But it can feel absolutely overwhelming, if not impossible, to do so with your young children.
But these conversations with our kids are crucial. In the case of Fox News anchor Chris Wallace, discussing the sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh with his daughters enabled them to open up to him about past “incidents” they’d kept secret. In an op-ed for the New York Times, ‘Top Chef’ host and author Padma Lakshmi, who was molested by a family member as a child and raped by her boyfriend when she was 16, stressed the importance of teaching her 8-year-old daughter that her body is hers, and that if anyone makes you uncomfortable “you get out there and tell somebody.”
