“Space crime” allegation leads to arrest of lesbian astronaut’s ex-wife
Summer Worden outed her then-estranged wife, astronaut Anne McClain, when she accused her of illegally attempting to access her bank account from the International Space Station last year. It was dubbed the “first space crime” by the media.
But in a surprising turn of events, Worden has now been indicted and charged with making the whole thing up.
The women were involved in a bitter divorce and custody dispute when Worden made the allegation. Claiming McClain had accessed her account from a NASA computer terminal, Worden filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and NASA’s Office of Inspector General.
After an investigation, federal prosecutors allege that Worden lied about key details about when the account was opened and whether or not McClain had access to the account still.

Sudan's women face 'world's worst' sexual violence amid brutal conflict
The Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have been locked in a brutal conflict since April 2023 that has killed tens of thousands of people, displaced around 11 million and been marked by widespread sexual violence.
Sulaima Ishaq al-Khalifa said abuses against women routinely accompanied looting and attacks, with reports of rape often perpetrated as "the family witnessed" the crime.
"There is no age limit. A woman of 85 could be raped, a child of one year could be raped," the trained psychologist said at her home in Port Sudan.

Buena Vista Park is a center of the gay cruising renaissance
Running parallel to those public-facing elements of LGBTQ culture in San Francisco are traditions like cruising — seeking out public places frequented by queer people looking for consensual sex from suitors, usually afforded by way of a reciprocated gaze and gesture. The history of cruising dates back to the 1810s in England, but it wasn’t until the 1960s that cruising had its hyperlocal bloom as SF became the gay capital of America.

'Privileged' unemployed man is slammed for tweeting he resents his parents for 'spoiling' him
He started off the viral thread by saying he took 'a medium dose of acid' a few days prior, and 'admitted some things to myself' about his financial situation, including admitting to himself that he resented his mother after she gave him $100,000 for his birthday last August when he was not working.
The acid version of himself, Yuan said, told him: 'You feel like you were told by society that the way making living works is that you do labor and are paid a fair wage for your labor, and that's how you earn the right to exist and be a member of society.
'The reason you're alive right now and not starving to death on the street even though you haven't had a job in three years is because your parents send you money because they love you.'
And like I kind of get why they did that, but it led to me being incredibly sheltered in a bunch of ways. They never even made me do chores. I was very spoiled, and in retrospect, it wasn't good for me.'

What Kids Who Bully Often Have In Common
When parents, educators and mental health professionals talk about bullying, there is understandably a lot of emphasis on the victims. But in focusing solely on victims in anti-bullying efforts, an important part of the equation gets forgotten: the kids who do the bullying.
“Bullying is not a one-time event or a random act of mean behavior but rather a pervasive, ongoing pattern of aggression targeted toward another child who in some way has less power in the relationship,” explained school psychologist Rebecca Branstetter, noting that it’s important to distinguish it from other forms of aggressive behavior or typical childhood conflicts.
Obviously every child who bullies comes from different circumstances and has different reasons for this behavior. There is no one profile of a bully, as each child who engages in this conduct has a unique set of challenges. But there are many common traits and experiences among bullies, and examining them can be beneficial.

Mexican singer says he was trafficked and abused as a teenager
Luis Armando Campos says singing is his life. At 23, he's already had a very impressive singing career that started when he was just a child in his native Tampico, a port city in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas.
"I was about 11, almost 12, when I first appeared on a local TV show in Tampico," Campos said.
In 2014, he was a semi-finalist in "The Voice Mexico." The international reality singing competition franchise took his career to new levels. Even though he didn't win, Campos has since toured Mexico with his music. But what his increasing number of fans didn't know, Campos says, is that while his career was taking off, he was forced to live a double life -- as a sex slave.

Woman Posed as a Teenage Boy to Sexually Abuse Young Girls
A British woman has been sentenced to eight years behind bars after pretending to be a 16-year-old boy in order to groom and sexually assault young girls.
Authorities suspect she groomed as many as 50 young women, The Guardian reported on Friday.
Police first became aware of Watts’ “shocking” dealings with young women in April 2018, when a 14-year-old girl reported that she had been sexually assaulted by her boyfriend Jake Waton — Watts’ alias.
In the investigation that followed, police found two other victims, both under the age of 18, and identified “Jake Waton” to be Watts. Watts used apps including Facebook, Snapchat, Yubo and Instagram to lure girls and “obtain their trust” before meeting them in person “and committing a number of serious sexual offences.”
