'Irate' wife, 31, who 'handed her husband the gun he used to fatally shoot Burger King employee because their order took too long'
The incident began unfolding at around 7.30pm at a Burger King on the 7000 block of E. Colonial Drive.
Joshua, who had just started working at the eatery, had gotten into a confrontation with a woman, later identified as Mason, who was angry over the length of time it took for her drive-through food order to be completed.
Mason's 13-year-old daughter, who was with her in the car and witnessed the argument, later told deputies that Joshua was 'disrespectful' to them, and that she thought he was 'talking mad trash' about them behind the drive-through window.
While waiting for her order, Mason grew increasingly irate, got out of her car and confronted the Burger King staff, threatening to bring her 'man' to the restaurant.

Mother Of 4 Pinned Down Husband As Her Brother Hacked Him To Death With Hatchet
It was the early morning hours of May 25, 2015 when Georganne Lee heard a commotion and a woman screaming outside her Las Vegas home.
“I’m thinking, ‘Uh oh. She’s being choked or raped, or something’s going on,’” Lee told “Snapped,” airing Sundays at 6/5c on Oxygen.
When she looked out her window, she saw a man lying in a pool of blood and a woman standing over him. Lee called 911, and officers with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrived on the scene and found the woman with a bloody hatchet in her hand.
Her name was Maria Hernandez, and the dead man on the ground was her husband, Enrique Hernandez. She told police they had been checking the engine of their minivan when they were attacked by an unknown man, according to Las Vegas NBC affiliate KSNV.

The murder spike in big US cities, explained
As if a Covid-19 pandemic wasn’t bad enough, the headlines suggest America is in the middle of a new wave of homicides — from New York City to Chicago to Minneapolis.
The data backs up the headlines, suggesting that homicide numbers are significantly higher in at least some major US cities. But it’s not clear if this is part of a nationwide phenomenon, or if it’s something isolated to urban centers, because we don’t have good data outside the large cities. To make matters more confusing, other types of crime, including violent crime overall, appear to have decreased in many of the same cities.
Still, there’s enough in the three data sets to draw some conclusions: At least in major US cities, homicides are up overall this summer — in some cases, significantly higher. But other kinds of crime, including violent crime overall, aren’t up and may actually have decreased so far this year. There was also a brief spike in burglaries in major cities starting in late May, an increase that was so brief and contained to specific cities that experts told me it was likely due to riots and looting surrounding some Black Lives Matter protests.
Beyond the pandemic, police are going to have more trouble fighting crime — including any current or future spikes — if large segments of the community don’t trust them. That’s where police reform comes into play. It’s a complicated topic, separate from a possible spike in violence this year. But, in short, experts say police should, at a minimum, show the communities they serve that they understand the concerns, acknowledge mistakes, and will change how officers are deployed and targeted.
Otherwise, there’s a good chance that protests against police will flare up, just as they did from 2014 to 2016 and have again this summer. If protests lead to more violence — whether by leading to depolicing, or sowing and exposing distrust in law enforcement — that’s going to create public safety problems.

Suspect in fatal shooting of Bothell police officer ordered held without bail
A judge found probable cause Wednesday to hold a 37-year-old man on investigation of first-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of Bothell police Officer Jonathan Shoop on Monday night.
A witness shot video that shows Washington outside his car as the patrol vehicle approached the intersection and stopped, the statement says. Other witnesses later told police the driver yelled, “Come on, pigs,” as he quickly moved around the front of the patrol car and fired two shots into the police SUV through the driver’s-side window, according to the statement.
Shoop was shot in the head and died at the scene, the statement says. His field-training officer, who returned fire from inside the patrol car, suffered a graze wound to the head, it says.

Prominent black New Yorkers call on NYPD to bring back 'anti-crime' unit after a wave of violence rocks the city
Two prominent members of the black community in New York City have called on the New York Police Department to reinstate the controversial "anti-crime" unit following weeks of increased violence and death in the city since its disbandment.
Last month, the NYPD announced that it would dissolve the controversial plainclothes unit after data allegedly showed its involvement in a disproportionate number of fatal officer-involved shootings in the city. The move was applauded by those who sought immediate change in the wake of George Floyd's death.
But in the weeks following the move, shootings in the city skyrocketed more than 200%, with a whopping 116 shooting incidents that occurred between June 15 and July 2. Things didn't get any better during the first two weeks of July as violence continued to grip the city resulting in several deaths, including that of a 1-year-old who was caught in the crossfire at a family barbecue.

The 'war on women' didn't stop when South Africa locked down over Covid-19
Khayelitsha, South Africa (CNN) The shack sits just down a narrow dirt alleyway, visible from a main road in Khayelitsha, near Cape Town. This is where the suspected killer is alleged to have hidden the body of his girlfriend, packed in between a corrugated iron siding and a concrete wall, just feet away from where he lived.
Prosecutors say he put 36-year-old Sibongiseni Gabada's corpse in a bag and covered it with garbage.
Gabada was missing for two weeks before her body was found. Every day people would walk past, until finally the smell of decomposing remains became stronger than the stench of the trash piled on top.
"When the people asked what is going on there. He said, 'No, it is rubbish, I am going to throw it away.' That is the kind of person he was -- an animal," says Gabada's grandmother, Mavis Gabada.
She gingerly moves forward to stare at the spot, sobbing. "Why was my granddaughter killed like a dog?" she asks.

At least 17 people shot in NYC on Monday as gun violence continues to soar
At least 17 people were shot in New York City on Monday — a tally that would be considered high for a weekend day, but is “astronomical” for early in the week, law enforcement sources said.
No borough was spared from the gunplay, but Brooklyn saw the most violence with 10 shooting incidents and a total of 12 victims, sources said.
“Those numbers would be high for a Friday or Saturday, but for a Monday they are astronomical,” said one high-ranking Brooklyn cop.

Cuomo took aim at the Democratic congresswoman representing parts of Queens and the Bronx after he was asked during a press briefing in Manhattan about her recent claim that the crime spike could be connected to New Yorkers having a hard time making rent amid the coronavirus pandemic.
“It is factually impossible that somebody committed a crime so they could pay their rent,” the governor said, noting that the recent crime uptick is dominated by shootings and other violent offenses.
