Boyfriend, The (2024-)

The boys dedicated two months to an experiment that could fix emotional fractures. The hosts were watchers who philosophized what the men might be going through and offer distinctive points of view. Topics were mostly nondescript, serious and or obsessive. The atmosphere was calm and the boys were intellectually appealing. Their approach to love and attraction was mature and endearing. It still feels like the boys are stuck in a dreamworld of unattainable things but their progression makes us believe and wish it were true. Their emotional experience was also ours. Respect to the men for being open and charismatic. 18-Feb-2026
S1E6. The boys are sweet and childlike in a comic book sort of way. No one lets their guard down enough, even in private. They bear the pain instead of exfoliating it. American gay dating differs. You get dumped with dick pics. These boys are corny, manic depressive and oppressed. Dude, I would have been raped 11 times by the time anyone plotted anything. 04-Aug-2024
Wild Robot, The (2025)

A robot awakens to monster status and Tarzan heroics in a jungle full of talking animals that offset reality. I had to disbelieve that a computer can be compassionate. (Alexa has never given anyone oral sex.) I understand that the robot programmed herself to be able to communicate with the animals but why did they have human emotions? The talking animals were a distraction for a story that represented realism. The robot could have been a human doing the right thing by an animal that only coexists for the benefit of itself. Actually, a talking animal of great power and little ally ship would have sufficed to make it cohesive. Why are those fucking animals talking to a robot instead of us? 26-May-2025
Shogun (2024)

Powerhouse acting, words on defense and beauty on blast. It was a poem about life. Fighting for faith is not the same as fighting for yourself. Freedom depends on that acknowledgment. Cosmo Jarvis had Ryan Phillippe looks and a great butt but he didn't need them. His eyes sparkled with information and coquetry. His voice, manly and protective. His gestures great and small. He also supplied some of the funniest bits. Hiroyuki Sanada was kingly. He cast vibrations just being. The writers understood that Anna Sawai was representing historical heritage. They made sure that her empowerment was befitting to her surroundings and that she apply it. Boy, did she ever. Suffering makes a hero, conviction makes a fighter and death equals longevity. The squad was perfection. 23-Apr-2024
E9. Mariko's heroism and heartbreak puts every female superhero actress to shame. 22-Apr-2024
Eventful television. 23-Mar-2024
Wonka (2023)

The movie is far from great but TC molds it into his own Barbie. He charms us with all of his almost complete skills. The Oompa Loompa was splendid. Olivia Colman let her boobs out and was funny. The support were astute. The whole thing was fun because Chalamet is a magician that makes us believe that his strive for excellence overcomes story limitations. 09-Mar-2024
Pokemon Concierge (2023-)

It was so cute it lulled me to sleep. That's okay, I'll keep rewatching it until it finishes. 04-Jan-2024
Ricky Gervais: Armageddon (2023)

Brilliant reality check. 28-Dec-2023
Rifleman, The (1958-1963)

A postwar generation that fought the enemy to insure that cell phones and toilet paper made it to the future. Respect for the law and its protection kept western towns reposed and progressive. Strangers would stop by with stories of city worlds, vast education and diversity. The contemptible came to cause a ruckus, crush everyone's dreams and takeover. Guns were a man's best friend because it was a contemptible's only friend. Death was also scientific in a world with very little of it. The rifleman assisted the Marshall by keeping people in line with threats, assistance, charm, height, beauty, and death. Death was an acceptable occurrence to be respected and expected. Even, the kids were savvy to it. You kill an animal for necessity, not sport. Death happens esp. in this town. Daddy longlegs was a widower, a rifle expert with a sweet boy whose devotion to daddy went beyond the screen. They heightened the father/son duo by being super. Connor was classic cowboy. The rifleman had gun skills, was a jean god, made money after every kill and was a fair man that allowed no one to fuck with his kid. They tell stories beyond the shooting. It had a contemporary mindset and there were plenty of useful life-lessons. Responsibilities of gun ownership included, when to point, shoot, run or put them down. 09-Nov-2023
Danny Thomas Show, The (1953-1965)

There seems to be silence on the legacy of this classic sitcom. It started as Make Room For Daddy and mushroomed into The Danny Thomas Show. I saw all of the latter and only a handful of the other. The actress playing his wife, in the first half, had disdain for the man and it showed. Her composure did not scream nurturing, romantic or in love. Wrong place for the wrong actress. Danny played a version of himself. He was a singer/comedian who worked nightclubs. Jabbing at Danny's Lebanese culture was open, respectful and knowledgable. Lucy & Desi were his parents (friends) and Dick Van Dyke was his cousin (spin-off.) The show was blessed with energetic ideas, comic genius and non-stop showmanship. Danny must have learned how Lucy did it because he found his cute and sarcastic wit. Second wife was glamorous, vindictive, funny and hot. Marjorie Lord went shopping with Lucy Ricardo, cooked in fashion, got him in the mood and plotted her revenge in a very elegant and comical manner. The son is a scene stealer. Even when he made a mistake he diverted it with more funny. His adorability peaked in his tweens and crashed in his teens but he had a memorable run. Funny as fuck. The daughter was a prime teen that left before her character became unbearable. She had her moments. Louise was the household maid that was played by two elder pros. She got to hug white children, gossip with the wife, celebrate as a family member and sass the boss. A proud black woman. She isn't in all the episodes but the character remained til the end. The guest stars were numerous. The writers succeeded in incorporating them into strong storylines. The topics were basic, like feminism, how men can't do anything right, a woman can do anything men can do, a gift abolishes snarls and make-up sex is her way of accepting an apology. Penny from Lost In Space enters as a cute sister moppet that was supposed to bring adorability and sunshine. She was a work in progress. She laughs during line readings and when Mr. Thomas is doing his thing. She's cute and annoying. He was a great teacher, though. He hands a season to his working buddy and his domineering wife, played by the original Ursula from the Little Mermaid. It was an odd experiment giving supporting players full reign. They had to fill really big shoes and were no longer the sitcom air freshener. Ursula flopped around like she was getting paid to play charades on land. She was a bit too much. Danny was a ham. He sang in almost every episode. He shoved it down our throats but was so adamant and easy going that we learned to accept it and stopped praying that he didn't sing in the next episode. They had minorities galore and a successful run from the 50s through the 60s. Well-written, comical, consistent and timeless. One of a kind. Why don't we ever celebrate it? 06-Jun-2023
M3GN (2022)

When pristine horror gets blood splattered, it resonates. AI has become a substitute for jobs that were once revered by the original occupant. Humans. Live shows, movies, tv, music, computers, phones, news, robots, etc. Each performance shaping the community they want to live in. M3GN has many faults but protecting a child was a built-in priority. A grieving child with no parents, structure or stability will succumb to the charms of a robot if you make her look and act like a best friend. Aunty creates M3GN and other incredibly expensive robotic toys that probably belong in a mansion. Her new invention is going to cure parenting and loneliness... moving the child farther away from a heart beat. M3GAN is a beautiful creation, maneuvered rightly, timed perfectly and a show stopper. The more M3GN claimed the child the more motherly aunty became. Flaws can be overlooked when the value of entertainment is so high. Perfectly cast and remembered. Fun as fuck! I wished she had killed more. As long as creator and monster are liable, human parenting will diminish. I am one of those children. My real mother's name was television. I'm sure somebody's heard of her. 22-May-2023
Elephant Whisperers, The (2022)

The caretakers introduce the history, solicit emotions and let the creatures' magnificence, intelligence and adorability speak for itself. The baby Dumbos were so cute. 15-Mar-2023
Mandalorian, The (2019-)

Bella Ramsey is no Grogu. He's so cute. Action scenes are uplifting and well panned. Katee Sachoff suffers like a wounded warrior that has seen the worst, to her weakening and art's enjoyment. Papi porn voice is back. I felt the "force." 02-Mar-2023
In gaming lays the closest successful expansion of a beloved mythology. The creators present that inspiration along with a grand sense of fun. The child is everything. 19-Jan-2021
Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022)

It begins with family authenticity, struggling to keep current and afloat. Super reality sets in and the tingles begin. Oh no! It's going to be bonkers. The cast resolves it. I wasn't sure if the husband was Jackie Chan. I spent a lot of the time being jealous of how young he looked. It was driving me crazy. He can't be, right? When he utilized the master's moves, I thought, that's definitely Jackie Chan. It's a tribute to him and Michelle Yeoh as action heroes but why does he look so fucking young? Terrific surgery perhaps? Ke Huy Quan is as adorable now as he was as a kid in a Spielberg classic. The man was precise. To Lady Yeoh, we gently bow. Stephanie Hsu had fun being all iterations of evil because we had fun too. Jamie Lee Curtis was gnarly. James Hong added his queerisms. The film threw as many cliches as it did new ideas. A win win for art. A film that wipes its imperfections with glorious shots of legends reacting to wonder and giving us soul. 27-Nov-2022
Grace & Frankie (2015 -)
The art of adorability. I would have been fine with a Dolly God. 08-Jun-2022
The new feedings are delicious. 21-Jan-2019
The characters were allowed to age in disgrace and we felt for them. 11-Jul-2018
Jane steps up to Lilly's pedestal and the gay daddies are finally getting storylines worthy of their aptitude and our senior representation. The adorableness takes away some of the fear of getting older and the girls supply a comfortable environment to bask in. 16-Jun-2017
We can totally do without the stereotypical husbands. All we need is Fonda and Tomlin and a phone book. The only thing that can make it better is Dolly. Legends. 31-Dec-2015
I've Got A Secret (1952-1967)

You know you are hooked on greatness when the picture looks crappy but the content is gold. 23-Mar-2022
Turning Red (2022)

Child's emotions are awakened when she experiences Leak Week. A family curse has her turning into a fuzzy red panda that transforms her life and liberates her loins. She's becoming a woman. The family wants to keep the hairy beast on the downlow but children can't be remote controlled. The child keeps it padded with the support of friends and the hope to attend a concert of sex gods (a boy band.) The film is fresh, the music is sprite and the art is gorgeous. 20-Mar-2022
