Miracle Worker, The (1962)
Wild child with disabilities gets reformed by teacher whose demons compel her to impart self reliance. The film's effectiveness relies on protagonist nerve and muscle. Duke and Bancroft, not only slap it, punch it and break it they receive it, just as well. The psychology was that a child that inflicts pain must undergo it to better understand their crime. All the parental rules we dethroned, helped erect the special intelligence of an unidentified child. At end of story, the combatants celebrate the characters and, I hope, each other for a job well-done.
Dead To Me (2019-)
All coincidences aside, its power resonated from the word, the emotion and the performance. Ms. Applegate rocketed to combustion. Good job. 20-May-2020

Wicker Man, The (1973)
Christian copper investigates missing child on pagan island. Edward Woodward keeps it desperate and unleashing, the atmosphere is lawless and unethical and the music lilts as well as unsettle. The horror isn't physically evident but mentally, it sticks like gum to a shoe. 19-May-2020
Humanoids From The Deep (1980)
Cis sea monsters killing dogs, children and men so they can rape the women. It's pure schlock, WTF and astounding they pulled it off. I was less hesitant to watch because it was helmed by a woman. A woman, Barbara Peeters, would never exploit it. She handles her task, dons a penis cap for the shots and switches to thinking emotion about circumstances. She navigated like a pro. The fight scenes turned out hilarious but the racism, kills and rapes were sharp. All sexes, breeds and races shared the heroism.

Its undoing is its failure to convince us why the robots have so much human emotion. If you can't digitally master it, our brains will not conceive it.
Its spite and success is due to a brilliant presentation, staggering mamas and devastating daddies.
Wood gives Dolores the stature of uniqueness and the stoic elegance necessary to keep her fascinating but it's time for her to get her machine on.
Ed Harris. Daddy cowboy of legend. Gives great face, looks fun in bed and he's a cowboy.
Jeffrey Wright. This is the daddy you get high with. Great ideas and crazy sex.
Thandie Newton. Her act is fit and she'd be the action-figure I would buy if I was twelve.
Luke Hemsworth. A Hemsworth pillow. He's a snuggle daddy with survival skills.
Tessa Thompson. Proud to have her on any team.
Aaron Paul. Delicate daddy with violent tendencies and dedication or Next Door Daddy.
Vincent Cassell. Daddy, "yeah, I'd fuck him."
The fight scenes enlivened, real robots ignited and the future looked bright. (We'll see how they fuck it up.)

Gervais profiles the catabolic generation and spins their sadness into comical whimsy. He is perfect denouncing life and burning it. It's a reality few can see. It talks maturely about aging, death, suicide, loneliness and contempt for the life that bore it. (Ricky's witticisms are wicked clatter.) 17-Feb-2020
Bad Education (2020)
The face of the righteous has a melting soul.
Hugh is big daddy, fulfilling a demanding feat. He teases us with his nice boy swag, making us feel comfortable, ripping layers and gnawing at his mentality. He floors like a man realizing his obsession is a sick heart aching for love of any kind.
Janney's gift is to steal acts, to be good or to be great. She is all.
Ray Romano is the grand daddy of kvetch, owning it with common sense and delivering it like a real person.
Geraldine Viswanathan displayed the smarts and determination the character needed.
The support was a menage of cultural brilliance.
Awkward, tricky and... bam!
(Society builds too much pressure in people.)
Extracting a drug lord's boy from the violent clutches of a challenger. Hemsworth is action God with minimal words and a gumption for despair. The writers downplay bravado and sap, injecting touches of humanity and observation to their characters. Director Sam Hargrave meticulously choreographs masterful action, cultural deficiency and human interaction. I was as enervated by the colossal statements as the small. The testosterone shot the action genre sorely needed. 30-Apr-2020
Others, The (2001)
Children and the help, quarantined with a compulsive mother obsessed with the idea of being as great as God. It's made of Hitchcock walls, star quality is legend of old and the understated score unnerves. It's refined spookery. Nic is powerhouse mama alleviator and authoritarian, putting the kids sweetly to bed, one minute and wanting to chop their heads off, the next. The ending is ruined once you know it but the lesson still rings true. Nothing ever is as it seems. 27-Apr-2020
No Way Out (1950)
Black doctor cares for two supremacist thugs. Race riot ensues when one dies. The movie is forthright and balanced with chills of emotions. Poitier is standard upright in a younger package. Widmark splatters the screen with hate like he meant it. Linda Darnel was the damsel in distress with heroic genes. Amanda Randolph deserves loads of cuddles for being. Mildred Joanne Smith was luminous at heart. It's an everlasting battle to fight for what are our greater parents started. 20-Apr-2020
Jaws is the ultimate water pandemic. It's misinterpretations no longer matter, because its proven law. We panic, take precautions and find a loophole to reopen. The loophole is that there's always a bigger shark out there. A sentiment for only the purest of heart.
My mother and my sister would call me Spielbergio, every time I would pick-up a camera. They eventually bullied me into putting it down (Thank God.) I thought it was cute but they were being harmful.
Mr. Spielberg opens doors to the imagination like a magician disappears from a box. It's simple, you can figure it out but the trick always works. Where did he go? He wills everything wider, cleaner and funner.
Ultimate daddy squish (Scheider,) a fiery one nighter daddy (Shaw) and a blubber daddy with smarts, cool gadgets and a checking account (Dreyfus,) generate all the magnetism a film needs.
John Williams' score tells it's own story.
I loved every minute of Bruce and the hard work involved to scare us.

Born Innocent (1974)
When parents renege their responsibility and abandon the broken miracles that made them, said kids are predetermined to live in a dumpster until the fire. The experts offer loads of hypocrisy, sad mother replacement skills and mayhem to the confusion. The rape still bothers, Linda keeps you trembling and the parents keep us itching. Funny Farm (1988)
Couple retiring in weird bumblefuck county. The laughs are spaced, mapped and allowed to spread extensively. Chevy controls his doofus charms to evoke the frustrations of a man destined for failure and Madolyn Smith steals it with her Tina Fey example. No buffoonery shall enter a George Roy Hill film. He does the oddity, revenge and relationship proud. 10-Apr-2020
Madre (Mother) (2016)
An expectant mother with a virulent special needs child, becomes overwhelmed until she meets and hires a kindly filipino grandmother who claims to have cured her own. The treatment consists of communicating with him in her native tongue, pampering him like a favorite child and emotionally distancing him from his natural mother. The boy recuperates, learns to speak filipino and clamps himself onto the mother (nanny) he desperately needs. Mother has her discomforts, daddy is relieved and the household finds much needed bliss. Mother marches along, suspending her doubts and chalking the old woman's takeover as relief. As soon as madre decides to use an app translator to discover what the nanny is communicating to her son, the mama wars begin. Daddy is gaslighting, mama is hallucinating and racial political correctness is straining. The film makes a point that the intent to make everyone legitimate renders safety mute even whey they act stereotypically. It's a nail-biter I don't recommend to expectant mothers... unless they want to drop early. 02-Apr-2020
