Morgan, The Pirate (1960)
Spanish history, slave trade, pirates, wenches and ship wars. Plenty of action and debauchery for short attention spans and Steve Reeves body beautiful to keep the eyes fixed. 20-Apr-2019
Key, The (1958)
Heroic men accepting military suicide missions during WWII. Sophia provides the wife they would never know and a facsimile of a home. She gets to eat. The stars lush blowing every romantic nuance onto the screen. 12-Apr-2019
Middle Of The Night (1959)
He's an old codger chasing love, she's the beauty of youth that may never love but will be loved. Each side is insightful, frustrating and climactic. Frederic March beats his heart as many times as Kim Novak excites it. 06-Apr-2019
Final Destination (2000)
Existing past your designated time. The beginning of the math kill. 19-Mar-2019
Steel Magnolias (1989)
Time grants us a reexamination of art. The cast brilliantly transcribed the written word like it was meant for them. Ross creates a world fantastic that you want to suffer in. 17-Mar-2019
Goldie imports her star and her art whilst Amy conveys snarky rebellion. The film is daring dispensing mayhem and barbarity when the climate of the audience is sensitive. It may show better at a future time. (I still laughed.) 15-Mar-2019
Before Night Falls (2000)
A writer depicting the beauty of life is impaired from enjoying it due to oppressive politics and human tragedy. Schnabel practices skittishly and misses cultural opportunities but punches the story forward. Except for Depp's drag, the cameos resist the film's realism. Antonio is gay function, survivalist and poetically melodious. He sells it...and Martinez doesn't hurt. 09-Mar-2019
Four Seasons, The (1981)
Constitutional portrait of human relationships spread across the seasons and invigorated by expert hands. The actors stir magic by integrating personality and star to their characters. Carol's beauty resonates when she makes us laugh and when she cracks up. 10-Feb-2019
Feminine Touch, The (1941)
Sex war rom com served by master wits (Don Ameche, Rosalind Russell, Van Heflin and Kay Francis.) Ameche and Rosalind defy lack of chemistry but Heflin and Francis uplift the back end. The logic stipulates that men classify a woman's worth by the amount of selected howlers sniffing at her door. All the woman wants is for her man to grow a pair and punch the howlers sniffing at her door. 06-Feb-2019
Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017)
Moore's evil is low battery, Berry's dweeb is unfortunate, the political leanings are red and the action rouses preposterous invention. Even though daddies squished aplenty, to my enjoyment was added guilt. 24-Jan-2019
Period of Adjustment (1962)
The utters of Fonda and Hutton chanted high. Tony Franciosa kept the octaves low and his charisma forward. John McGiver sets and Mabel Albertson resists becoming the in-law stereotype. They glorified it. Lois Nettleton steals it because she could.
Marriage is deemed a terror, everyone screams their heads off until a surprise gift changes it. It has a loud message but you can still hear it.
Unfortunately, George Roy Hill's absurdity didn't allow Tennessee to be tragic. It's what the writer did best. 03-Jan-2019
Naughty or Nice (1939)
A gifted songwriter can only love when he's drunk. The maid is named Killer and the actors add snap to their wit. It's gay vintage. 29-Dec-2018
The thrills emanate from Momoa's colossal brute, Wan's dazzling shots together with pulverizing action and allowing Kidman to kick ass. Whenever it announces its mythology the corn drips and the music swells. It's best to keep them minimal and quiet but DC is finally moving forward. 28-Dec-2018
Holiday Affair (1949)
A sober Christmas treatise made with no fuss.
It was a forward example.
The Christmas gift was an alpha. 25-Dec-2018
The porn stars are depicted as twelve year olds forever playing. An AIDS crisis bulldozes the industry to maturity but a scapegoat keeps the party going. 13-Dec-2018
