Bigelow juggled personalities and situations like a master. White House experts are tasked with securing lives when catastrophe strikes without alarming the outside world. The castmates shared a vision that usurped suspense and did well by it. The thrill becomes exhausted when the finale refuses to enact it. I understand the choice but the audience doesn't get to say goodbye to invested characters. 10-Jan-2026
The camera substituting for the presence was a great idea. It unsettles whilst causing anticipation. The household consists of interracial parents having preference for their teenage son and or daughter. The gender divide was lightly explained and suffered from awkward dialogue that did not strengthen character purpose. The scares were organic but weren't enough to create a classic horror. The presence has no I.D. It meanders slowly on repetitive angst but it doesn't get to the heart of it. It was drama. The no character close-ups put me on edge. If they would have only added them for the climax it would have jumpstarted some fear. It was curious, well acted, unique and experimental. The ending fit. I watched ready to be disappointed but I was not. It was made for a future generation to fuss over and dissect. Pattinson is a beaten man who has to keep dying in order to survive. His accent and softness humanized Mickey 17 and convinced me to follow him. Pattinson's flashlight stayed on throughout even while twinning. Ruffalo's villain was way over the top. Naomi Aaki pumps the heart and kicks the ass. It's original, bonkers, nerdy and funny but the film lacked space. The supporting cast could have used it. I never stopped caring. 30-Dec-2025
Robot malfunctions when man's animal instincts unleash and cause chaos. I admire the film for triggering my imagination. The environment is fresh but by exploring only the sympathetic sex, the general message becomes exclusive. Why not make it a male robot that is programmed heterosexual and misinterprets male seduction as hostile? That's a spin that a robot could misinterpret. Violently. There is a lack of tech in a movie about artificial intelligence. My capacity to accept that robots can have feelings and act exactly like humans is too far out. AI glitches. The companion could have been a little more robotic. Half the fun in watching human actors play synthetics is their interpretation. Acting like themselves does not convince anyone that it's a robot. A robot's personality progression should be gradual and the enlightenment, godly because a human programmed it. I think having the robot become more human as the humans become more robotic could have amped things up. 23-Dec-2025
The message is sweet but the idea that adults understand what children dream of is questionable. The obsession with food is gross and teaches kids to be unkempt and nauseating. A town full of talking, walking junk food "on the street" is not a banner for hygiene or a wet dream. I'm old-fashioned. Kid stories should be thoughtful, incisive, imaginative, realistic and responsible. Teach them something they can use! Food being a big part of a child's dream wish list signifies worst things than a nightmare. The art was pleasant, the voices fit and I wasn't unnerved...much. 19-Dec-2025

It was the most frightening yet. S1E7. The best way to honor culture is to be honest and inquisitive. I do not understand what It is, more than when I read the book as a child. It was a hefty book. I read on because a beast's rape of a boy sounded familiar to me. I was born to it. I think Bill betrayed his Pennywise character by acting like a kid pretending to be an adult as a human. It was a letdown. The culture clash is not storytelling but stoning. How is one group better than the other? I kept thinking, if we nixed the adult footage would it matter, more?

The babies don't step on cues and are willing to make their characters heart-born. I always resented Charlie Brown for cancelling adults but it should apply here. Every time the children were not present, the momentum faltered. The prequel suffers from grandiosity when it needed to be more intimate. It's how gradually works. It never starts better. Where were these military bastards in the future? I'm confused. Is anybody going to explain why dead boy proclaimed that It sleeps all day and feeds all night? I say, "then why is It terrorizing them during the day? Constantly!" The only acceptable answer is, "he was lying." If all doors to a fantasy are left open, it would create chaos. I suspend disbelief in order to enjoy the story but I can't tolerate the nonsensical. The prequel boggles the part of the imagination I would need to believe. TMI. 29-Nov-2025
They had an opportunity to strip the persona of a legendary actor and explore his reality but what caused it is more important than knowing why he acted that way. It's not his fault that the notion that a celebrity can create happy families is not attainable because absence and success are prevalent. The trip to establish a bond is fruitless. Clooney gave it as much as the script wrote but didn't add anything fresh to his repertoire. Sandler noticed that and added depth to his support. I wished it had been told by his point of view because Clooney's character was too self-involved. The Christmas Carol flashbacks added nothing. At one point, I thought, "hey, another character named Tim but younger." I must have drifted. Flashbacks are nothing without a ghost to guide you. 08-Dec-2025

Thing's eyes got lost under heavy make-up and his mouth movements were hesitant. The beard. I didn't know bricks can grow hair? Fantastic held back. Torch had no life. Very little reminded me of the 60s. Sue Storm's hair was droopy instead of groovy. The baby plot line needed work and Shala-Bal didn't amaze or intimidate. They didn't sprinkle the magic evenly. It was a countdown to a finale that didn't deliver fantastic. Galactus was robbed. Supe capabilities were constrained. 06-Nov-2025
The ritual that is supposed to bring one back from the dead is in another language that is not translated until the end. Well, then why the fuck did it take so long? Unbalanced mother inherits 2 siblings, a hormonal teenager with wet problems and a mostly blind baby sister that has a need to be acknowledged. Boy wants to run with his sister but in 3 months he can do it legally. He just needs to put up with his foster mother's psychosis. The atmosphere is constantly tight. The actors delivered more than the script gave them. Gross is not a metaphor for fright, the ritual is not logical, the actions are less so, I didn't understand Ollie's diet and I didn't appreciate all the red. 28-Oct-2025
Every time Quaid did anything on screen I balked. He was an obnoxious asshole providing disgusting chews and bringing the vibe down. All men window dressed and were not awarded the opportunity to become nothing more than buffoons. The guy with the hairy ass was an exception. The ladies were put through hell but the performances kept them alive. The writing would have succeeded further if it wasn't so questionable. How did she pay for The Substance, what happened to the maid, why didn't she have friends or family, why did she tell the neighbor that the original had moved out but still comes and goes every other week, how could she run when she couldn't walk and why did no one realize it was a mask? I saw Kubrick (the halls and bathroom,) Rosemary's baby (claustrophobic spaces,) and Brian De Palma (the Carrie finale.) The director exhibited art but yucked up the ending. It went too far and became unbearable. There is only so much red paint we can take. It accomplished uniqueness and conversation. 10-Oct-2025
It was unique in prioritizing emotional impact. Young boy is being indoctrinated by his community. A hunt will open his eyes and a kill will make him a man. The rules are established during his training and dead mythology was properly explained. Goals, powers and limitations prepared us. Human escape was suspenseful, the town was slightly defined, the bonds were on and off, credibility began to wallow and the "last minute saves" were unwelcome. A character in a difficult situation has the responsibility to save themselves and gift the audience a survival skill. Dad was a gorgeous asshole that got blamed for everything. Boy forgot he too was a man. A bedridden mother goes on an adventure to cure her mental illness. Dude, she's bedridden! I don't understand how the son could go on such a quest after an intense first hunt. Watching parent cheating sex does not make you fearless. The doctor was an unnecessary paradox. The showdown was sour, the actors were wasted and cliches dissolved reasoning. The boy went on a quest to do something dangerous that he could have calmly done at home. 24-Sep-2025
It promises a lot that it doesn't deliver. It celebrates itself before we get a chance to absorb any of it. Beating Superman like a desperate housewife does not bring humanity to his persona and establishing himself as a victim of puny super abuse is not consistent with his mythology. Gunn did not utilize kryptonite because it limited action but embraced creating sun out of everything. It's a willing cast except for the Clarks. They were very hillbilly stupid. The big bad was existential with a personal vendetta and no superpowers to start a fight. The last half goes silly, corny and festive. Fillion's silver bowl hair distracted from his personality. It was also ugly. Mr. Terrific made most of his time by being cool whenever possible, Hawkgirl was miscast as a girl. She's a woman. A Gorilla Grodd would have introduced freshness to the tired and true. A drunk Supergirl was irresponsible and out of place. Does Clark also fuck Lois in the air? The beginning contains many surprises and shifts and entices the audience into believing it is a banger. A psycho with empathy is a conundrum. The talent is wasted, the mystery is excruciating and the characters shift personality too often. I doubt a clenched mother would be friends with such active and critical people. I zigzagged on whom was right and then realized they both can be wrong. The production missed an opportunity to switch it up by not making the son the evil one. 20-Sep-2025
The big bad was neither big or bad, it was dangerous. The film is under the illusion that if we can get to the heart of evil before it erupts that it won't. Maybe the reason we dissect villains is because evil has no explanation. Pugh drives the movie and gets us feeling things. The actors realized that they needed to be a team in order to become one and they were. I even liked the shitty Captain America. I watch comic book adaptations anticipating magic is realized as legendary characters are brought to life. Limited powers means limited accessibility. Spy action and admits ground the film in basics and hopeful logic. The funny failed most of the time because it killed characterization. A villain is not a threat if a stint in rehab can fix them. The ending was episodic TV right before cancellation. 29-Aug-2025
Feisty gals is what gets the party going but I'd be satisfied with a Freaky Friday switch for season 2. Kristen Johnson is there to prop up the main, be superfluous and funny. We've seen this before by the same artist. It'd be nice to graduate from hate of everything to something. 13-Aug-2025
