'Mistress Day' Is The Most Infamous Day...
If you have plans for Valentine's Day, you might want to double-check your dinner reservation. Is your table for two on February 13 instead of February 14? You could find yourself out on what is known in the restaurant industry as "Mistress Day." Also called "Mistress Night" or "Paramour Night," it apparently occurs on the day before Valentine's Day. Yes, that couple seated next to you at Carbone or Olive Garden on February 13 might just not be all that they seem.
A server I interviewed remembered seeing serial cheaters taking multiple partners out during the week of Valentine's Day—all at the same restaurant. "I definitely knew him at the time, so he was semi regular and a SERIAL Valentine's offender," said the server, who worked at a popular steakhouse chain in Canada where fellow servers called February 13 "Mistresses Valentine's."

How your ACCENT could hinder your job prospects
The bias was stronger for roles that required communication, so the researchers concluded this was related to the candidate's potential job performance.
However, they also think that prejudice could play a part, if the non-standard accent signalled an 'otherness' to the interviewee and they were devalued as a result.

NJ students’ learning declined during pandemic
Specifically, it found that 37% of all students are learning below their grade level, in both English and math classes. In english language classes, a breakdown of the information for kindergarten through 10th grade shows that students for whom English is not their first language, 65% are below grade level. For economically disadvantaged students, the number is 54% below grade level. It’s 52% for Hispanics, and 51% for African Americans.

Attention Men, Intercourse Alone Brings Few Women to Orgasm
Intercourse reliably brings around 95 percent of men to orgasm. What proportion of women climax that way? Substantially fewer than many, if not most men imagine.
The general—mistaken—male view is that, like men, the vast majority of women can reliably have orgasms during vaginal intercourse. That’s what most movies and TV shows present. The guy mounts the gal. He thrusts a few times. She moans in supposed ecstasy. And then it appears they both come. Actually, this is nonsense that miseducates men and frustrates many women.
In 2018, other Indiana University published a survey of a representative 1,055 American women age 18 to 94. Only 18 percent—about one in six—said they could come from intercourse alone. The rest—82 percent—said they needed direct clitoral stimulation. And 36 percent said that no matter how they climaxed, orgasms felt more satisfying when the lovemaking included gentle, extended clitoral caresses.

You are not a brand
Say the term “personal brand.” Go ahead, I dare you. It’s cringe-worthy, right? I feel dirty just typing it.
That’s normal. Being a “brand” is sort of a gross concept, best reserved for commodities, cattle, and corporations—not people.
Humans aren’t hashtags. We’re complicated and nuanced. We have personal and professional lives. We’re moms and dads, partners and children, professionals, friends, and all the other stuff, too. We have different but authentic features of our personalities that we share on a day-by-day basis. Our quirks and flaws are part of that package.
That’s complicated in the age of social media. Not standing out carries serious risks when it comes to our professional lives, particularly if (like me) you’re part of generation X. How do you communicate you’re “all that and a bag of chips” without coming off like a poseur?

Kids Who Do Chores Become More Successful Adults, According to Harvard Researchers
Kids who do chores will grow up to be more successful adults.
There, we said it.
The value of assigning children household chores is something older generations took for granted. Unfortunately, this way of thinking seems to have slipped out of favor in recent years, much to the detriment of today’s kids.
“By making them do chores—taking out the garbage, doing their own laundry—they realize I have to do the work of life in order to be part of life,” Julie Lythcott-Haims, former Dean of Freshmen at Stanford University and author of How to Raise an Adult, told Tech Insider.
