Armie Hammer Being Investigated by LAPD After Woman Accuses Him of Rape

The anonymous woman who first made allegations about Armie Hammer on social media has come forward publicly.

“I thought that he was going to kill me,” the woman, named Effie, said through tears on Thursday during a press conference with her attorney, Gloria Allred. Effie is accusing Hammer of violent rape and physical abuse, during their on-and-off four-year relationship from 2016 to 2020.

Corey Feldman Is Now Accusing ‘Obsessed’ Marilyn Manson Of ‘Decades Of Mental And Emotional Abuse’

Evan Rachel Wood came forward last week to name ex-partner Marilyn Manson as her alleged abuser and groomer (after years of her advocacy and testimony in front of lawmakers to help pass survivor-geared laws). In the immediate aftermath of Wood’s statement, four other women lodged allegations of abuse agains Manson. Phoebe Bridgers then followed with a sickening story while former Manson collaborator Trent Reznor issued his own statement of condemnation. and Wood has made more revelations about threats that she received (apparently from parties associated with Manson) that prompted her to come forward.

Now, 1980s teen idol Corey Feldman is giving his own account in an Instagram post, in which he accuses Manson of emotionally abusing him for decades. Feldman’s claims include grooming and being kissed without consent, and he makes reference to passages that Manson wrote about him in his 1998 memoir, The Long Hard Road Out Of Hell, as evidence that Manson is “obsessed” with Feldman.

‘The Wizard of Oz’: Judy Garland’s Mother Allowed Her Daughter to Be Subjected to This Abuse on the Film’s Set

Discovering what took place behind the scenes of our favorite films can either be fascinating or it can be heartbreaking.

In the case of international star Judy Garland, it is the latter.

Only 16 when she took on the role of Dorothy Gale in The Wizard of Oz, the actor was endured abuse throughout the making of the film, with her mother’s full knowledge and consent.

Garland’s mother, Ethel Gumm, according to the biography Get Happy: The Life of Judy Garland by Gerald Clarke, was a combative and harsh stage mother. She plied her daughter with pills as young as age 10 — stimulants to keep her up and then sleeping pills when she wasn’t needed on the set.

Gumm sanctioned the appalling diet the studio required of her daughter in order to make her look as young as possible: chicken soup, black coffee, 80 cigarettes, diet pills, and amphetamines. Garland was addicted to prescription pills for the rest of her life.

Head pastors at Hillsong Church are accused of using volunteers as their personal babysitters for little or no pay, insiders said

After celebrity pastor of Hillsong NYC Carl Lentz was fired for cheating on his wife in November, sources told Insider that the issues at Hillsong run much deeper than one affair.

Several former volunteers said top pastors regularly took advantage of free and underpaid labor, and in some cases paid little or no money for volunteers to babysit their children.

In 2017, former Hillsong Boston volunteer Tiffany Perez said she was asked to take care of the top pastor Josh Kimes' daughter, Lyla, who was 4 at the time for $150 a week.

Perez often worked up to 25 hours a week babysitting, she said, which comes out to about $6 an hour, or half the minimum wage in Massachusetts. Perez also cleaned their home and looked after their dog, she said. She was not paid extra for the cleaning or dog care.

Older LGBTQ workers face special jeopardy from widespread workplace ageism

Last June’s surprising Supreme Court decision granting LGBTQ employees protection under federal law would seem to put an end to workplace discrimination. But if you’re 50 or older, you may still experience an equally invidious form of discrimination: ageism.

According to a 2018 AARP survey, about three in five workers have experienced age discrimination in their jobs. A whopping 76 percent worried that ageism would hurt their job hunting. That fear is well-grounded. An analysis of employment data by the Urban Institute and ProPublica found that half of older workers were pushed out of jobs and 90 percent of them ended up taking a pay cut when they were finally rehired.

Being an older LGBTQ worker can make things even worse. Out LGBTQ workers have already had to deal with much higher levels of job discrimination and wage disparities. Now, despite the promise of job protections for being LGBTQ, they are finding that the pervasive problem of ageism serves as yet another threat to their careers and financial security.

Worsening the problem is the internalized ageism that many older LGBTQ people carry. A 2015 study of 312 gay men with an average age of 61 found that many felt aging was harder due to the perception that gay men primarily value younger men. No doubt, some of that carries over into the workplace as well.

‘They Just Dumped Him Like Trash’: Nursing Homes Evict Vulnerable Residents

On a chilly afternoon in April, Los Angeles police found an old, disoriented man crumpled on a Koreatown sidewalk.

Several days earlier, RC Kendrick, an 88-year-old with dementia, was living at Lakeview Terrace, a nursing home with a history of regulatory problems. His family had placed him there to make sure he got round-the-clock care after his condition deteriorated and he began disappearing for days at a time.

But on April 6, the nursing home deposited Mr. Kendrick at an unregulated boardinghouse — without bothering to inform his family. Less than 24 hours later, Mr. Kendrick was wandering the city alone.

According to three Lakeview employees, Mr. Kendrick’s ouster came as the nursing home was telling staff members to try to clear out less-profitable residents to make room for a new class of customers who would generate more revenue: patients with Covid-19.

Survivors of Nigeria's 'baby factories' share their stories

Aunty Kiki took them to a compound where she handed them over to an elderly woman she called "Mma" and told the girls to do whatever the woman asked of them.

"The compound had two flats of three bedrooms each, filled with young girls, some of them pregnant," says Miriam. "Aunty Kiki said it was where we'd be working."

At first, the girls thought their jobs were to clean the compound and do household chores as Aunty Kiki had led them to believe. Their new employers, however, had other ideas.

"Mma asked that we stay alone in separate rooms for that first night," Miriam explains. "We were surprised because the other girls in the compound were sharing rooms, some of which had four people in them."

Late that night, according to Miriam, a man walked into her room, ordered her to take off her clothes, held her hands tightly, and raped her.

The same thing happened to Roda, but her rapist was much more brutal.

Gay 'chemsex' culture in Hollywood almost killed me. This is how I survived.

Grindr is like Postmates for chemsex: Open the app, order what you want and it's delivered to your door. Or you can go and pick it up. It's that convenient — simply put a cloud or diamond emoji on your app, signaling that you're looking for crystal and someone to do it with. You don't have to track down a drug dealer and figure out what and how much. It's a one-stop shop.

Drug-driven sex relieved me of my shame over being gay and my fears that I wasn't worthy of being an actor. The chemsex cocktail gave me the illusion that I fit in, that I was powerful and seductive and that I belonged. But I was only fooling myself. They were like a costume I wore to camouflage my true self.

I'm fortunate to have found in Los Angeles a strong recovery fellowship, but many other LGBTQ addicts continue to struggle. The gay community continues its fight to be seen as equals in broader culture, but the fight is made more difficult when we ourselves haven't fully healed from whatever personal attacks or trauma we're holding on to related to our sexual identity.

Woman raped child then abused her when she refused to have sex with strangers

Marilyn Joy Wilkes, 27, was condemned for punching the 16 year-old, burning her with cigarettes and stomping on her head during a hearing in Houston, Texas, on Friday.

Prosecutor Kim Ogg said: ‘Only a true predator would force a minor to become a street walker.

‘Someone who steals a child’s youth by brutally coercing them to have sex with strangers for their own profit, like in this case, deserves to spend time in prison.’

Jehovah's Witnesses reportedly under investigation by Pennsylvania attorney general

The Pennsylvania attorney general's office reportedly is investigating whether the Jehovah's Witnesses repeatedly failed to report child sexual abuse allegations to authorities in what is believed to be the first wide-scale examination by a U.S. law enforcement agency.

The attorney general's office told USA TODAY it "cannot confirm or deny the existence of investigations."

"Witnesses believe that they’re obeying God, that they’re putting God’s law ahead of man's law," he said. "And the reality is that they’re harming people."

Lawsuits filed across the country since the 1990s have accused the Jehovah's Witnesses and their legal corporations — including the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania and the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York Inc. — of failing to report child abuse.

Why is rape still so prevalent in 2020?

The #metoo movement has made talking about rape far less taboo, so why isn’t sexual violence being reduced? In honour of Sexual Abuse and Sexual Violence Awareness Week 2020, Lizzy Dening, founder of Survivor Stories, reports on the reasons why we're still shockingly at risk

It’s 2020 and we’re slowly getting better at talking about rape, thanks in part to initiatives like #metoo and the Million Women Rise march. But for every forward step, the statistics around sexual violence remain bleak – and things are actually getting worse.

It’s estimated that one in five women and 4% of men have experienced some type of sexual assault since the age of 16, with roughly 3.1% of women experiencing a sexual assault each year. Meanwhile, rape cases referred by police to the Crown Prosecution Service have fallen by 32%, and convictions have dropped by 21%, in the year leading up to September 2019. So what exactly is going on?

We don't want to talk to kids about sex but we will allow them to assign whatever sex they like. When I was a kid I never thought about sex, even when I was being abused. I believe they should be allowed to express themselves but we shouldn't sway them either way and parents overreact when society views them. Loving them should come naturally. Putting so much pressure on it makes the media a bad parent. Why can't we accept that people will behave in a certain way when they have different beliefs. In the Bizzarro World my mother would have made me wear dresses because I played with a doll. I would have hated that. Pretending is not acquiescing. Eventually, they will hurt you. We need to encourage children to detach from negative people, not support them while they stab you in the back.

Parents destroy us but only the world can kill us. You want to create a better environment for LGBTQ youth to strive in, give them survival skills. Barking at other dogs isn't going to save them. You need to reach the wolves.

Hipitty-Hop and religion are notoriously hostile to LGBTQ yet we revere and turn the other cheek. God might strike us down and the black community will kill us. (We didn't struggle when they killed disco even though it spoke to our community.) So we keep going to Chick-fil-A and pretend that talking is finally singing. Why don't we hit what reverberates? Almost every gay white single has hip-hop listed as a preference but would never date anyone of color. We continue to masturbate to celebrities that hate us. We hate stereotypes but are constantly bombarded by them. We think commitment is a roommate and what's left over from a surrogate's abortion. We need to fix us to teach our children. We don't need coddling, we need action. My mother prays for everything while doing nothing. The world is ending...we can't save it...what do we do? (Give your kids some fucking books so they can become smart and solve that shit themselves.) Why are we making our lives more miserable to satisfy a kid of your kid I will never meet.

How about punishing parents who throw LGBTQ kids out into the street? It sounds like a crime. Start there. If parents raise a bully they should be fined and be required to attend parental classes. Fuck, make future parents get licenses to have kids.

If you're not going after the big guns, you are all hypocrites and your kids will continue to perish.

Campaigns shouldn't ring bells but bang drums... 01-Aug-2019
As a society we assign tremendous power to family esp. "the parents." I've never met these "mortals fantastic," generated from a Hollywood dream. Every parent is a composite of things well intentioned and future regrets. They know they can't be perfect therefore the excuses.

Mother: I was a single mother with no money fighting for our lives yet I found a way to clean them and feed them. Wilfred was his name.

Everybody applauded her and put her on a pedestal. It was an argument no child could win. The world was incapable of seeing her true self. She brewed a glow from a mother's sacrifice. We were branded silly little liars if my sister or I complained to an adult. Now, I am clinically insane so they wont believe my stories of abuse. Family first. Keep your witnesses close and the snitches chained.

She accepted my coming out with a "but" and a lifetime of attempts at changing it.

Mother: thank God you're not a flamer. I wouldn't know what to do with myself.

You mean it could have been worst?

She drugged me so I could sleep with a cousin while two other cousins and herself, watched and cheered. She had my lesbian aunt make out with my boyfriend and grind on him so no one would question anybody's sexuality. When I would break up with a boyfriend she'd scowl at me and tell me to get over it. It wasn't real love. It was two guys. My stepfather concurred. I sounded like a maniac rendering my feelings.

Mother: you should stop this shit now with the guys. Only a woman can make you happy.

I had to come out every time it didn't work out with a boy.

To everyone, she represented survival and progression. She accepted everyone. She was a goddess. She knew the power of a woman. She was not a threat to her brethren and she knew what a man wanted. She told me it was pretense. It was a secret between mother and son. She created a role fitting the person she was trying to mentally seduce from pieces scattered in her reality. She changed them. (OMG. That's Errattic.)

Blah, blah, blah...she's a monster.

I believe every person deserves respect. Every time the media latches onto the joy of parenting without consideration to how the child feels, it's inconsiderate. You are giving them the right to kill us. Almost every person I've ever met has been abused by their parents. We act like it's an anomaly. My mother told me she loved me everyday and did unimaginable things to me. She'd rather celebrate my failures than allow me a win.

Mother: I told you so.

The scary parents aren't going to be talking to experts about their skills. Experts are for the privileged. They have their own fuck-ups. These are the parents we are confusing and bullying to love everything about a kid. Just because they said "hello" doesn't mean that they will love you. Those parents are going to bolt the door and you will find out about the abuse when he or she is dead. That's dangerous.

We don't need scary people pretending. They will infiltrate your lives and wait for that moment to slice you because..."they told you so."

Teach the kids to run. It never gets better. "They never understood, they just accepted it."

In old age mother finds different but no less strategic ways to abuse. It always takes me back to the room where I cowered from her fists as a wee.

I wish society would allow us to shoo away the monster without guilt.

Gay adult performer Calvin Banks: “My dad was my first blowjob”

Adult video performer Calvin Banks recently told Himeros.tv that his first sexual experience was with his father. “I can now comfortably say my dad was my first blowjob,” Banks told the educational adult site.

“I gotta laugh about it,” Banks continued. “I have friends whose dads left when they were two years old. I joke with them, I say ‘Well, your dad didn’t love you enough, and my dad loved me too much.’”
