Rattlesnakes are everywhere these days, he says – on front porches, in potted plants, and under children’s play equipment. “I am busier than I have ever been. Complaints are coming in from all over the state.”

Even Thanksgiving is canceled! New Jersey school district yanks ALL holiday names off the calendar to avoid 'hurt feelings'

A New Jersey school board has scrapped the names of all holidays from its calender to avoid 'hurt feelings' after backlash over renaming Columbus Day as Indigenous Peoples Day.

Randolph Board of Education members unanimously voted to remove all holiday names off of the school calendar, including religious holidays such as Yom Kippur and Christmas, at a meeting that drew over 100 people on Thursday.

Why Atlanta's richest neighborhood wants to secede from the city

A movement in Buckhead, Atlanta, the city's wealthiest neighborhood comprised of predominately White residents, is working to secede in order to form its own city due to a rise in crime.

Comedian moans he can’t get gigs because he’s ‘white, straight, able-bodied and male’

Nick Dixon shared a screenshot of a WhatsApp message purportedly sent by a promoter after a fan recommended the comedian for a show. In the message, the promoter said they were “aware” of Dixon, and even suggested venues where his comedy might be welcomed and appreciated.

However, they went on to tell the fan that they already have “a million billion really good white, straight able-bodied male comedians” that they can call on.

“I’m trying to find more of the opposite. When I say opposite I don’t necessarily mean a Black gay woman in a wheelchair, but I’ve seen how hard it is for female acts, Black acts etc to get on good bills,” the promoter wrote.

Dixon continued: “Some argue that this kind of thing is just redressing the balance for past discrimination. But if you asked them to give up their place on a TV panel show for a person of colour it would be a different story.

“I just want a meritocracy because that’s better for everyone.”

Dixon went on to claim that diversity happens “naturally” under a meritocracy, using football as an example.

‘Like Bonnie and Clyde’ at 12 and 14 years old: Florida deputies engage in gunbattle with 2 juveniles, injuring 1, sheriff says

A 14-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy fled from a Florida juvenile home and broke into a house, where they found a small arsenal — a shotgun, an AK-47 and plenty of ammunition. When confronted by sheriff’s deputies, the pair opened fire, sparking a gunbattle.

1.1 billion people smoked in 2019 — a record high, study says. But smoking decreased in the US.

Although smoking has decreased in the United States since the 1990s, new research shows there was a global record high of 1.1 billion people who smoked in 2019.

The study estimated the prevalence of smoking in 204 countries, with 113 of them seeing an increase of smokers since 1990.

The study also said smoking was likely to increase over the next decades, and effective implementation and enforcement of tobacco control policies were needed to increase life expectancy and decrease health care costs.

New tobacco control policies have been introduced over the last few years, with the Biden administration announcing its plan to ban menthol cigarettes and flavored cigars in April.

As crime spirals, NY politicos push even more anti-anti-crime nonsense

Arrests in New York City are down, even as shootings continue to climb. That’s a frightening indicator that cops, mindful of political hostility, are adopting a reactive posture — and that criminals now own our streets.

The results are predictable. Gang shootouts are common. Hateful losers feel free to brutalize elderly Asian Americans. And anti-Semitic mobs openly attack terrified Jews in broad daylight.

You would think that such anarchic circumstances would prompt officials and candidates for citywide office to call for restoring law and order. But, of course, they aren’t. In fact, they’re doing the opposite, by demanding that the city double down on its disastrous experiment with criminal-justice “reform.”

Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors resigns amid controversy

The embattled co-founder of Black Lives Matter announced on Thursday that she’s resigning as executive director amid criticism over her lavish lifestyle.

But her resignation comes amid controversy over the group’s finances and Cullors’ personal wealth — including an alleged real-estate buying spree in which she snagged four high-end homes for $3.2 million in the US, according to property records reported last month.

The foundation said it ended 2020 with a balance of more than $60 million, after spending nearly a quarter of its assets on operating expenses, grants to Black-led organizations and other charitable giving.

Critics of the foundation contend more of that money should have gone to the families of Black victims of police brutality who have been unable to access the resources needed to deal with their trauma and loss.

Wild party-goers hurl rocks, fireworks and bottles at cops and 150 people are arrested after 2,500 rowdy teens stormed Southern California beach to attend TikTok star's birthday party

Police in Southern California said an 'unruly' crowd of at least 2,500 teens hurled fireworks, bottles, and rocks at officers in Huntington Beach as a party promoted on TikTok descended into chaos.

Law enforcement officials declared an unlawful assembly and arrested about 150 people after they refused orders to disperse.

The massive gathering began with a now-deleted video posted on the popular social media app from a user named adrian.lopez517, who invited anyone to his birthday party by Huntington Beach's fire pits Saturday night, the Orange County Register reported Sunday.

Proud Boys reportedly getting huge Asian American support due to BLM, Antifa fears

The right-wing Proud Boys are getting a huge wave of support from Asian Americans who fear Antifa and Black Lives Matter want to bring Communist rule to the US, according to a new investigation.

Recent fundraising efforts for the Proud Boys saw as many as 80 percent of the donations coming from people with Chinese surnames, according to a review of leaked information obtained by USA Today.

The data — as well as a series of experts and supporters — show “significant support” specifically from the Chinese American community as well as expats in China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, the paper said.

I’m a Straight Woman Who Married a Gay Man

I met my husband 13 years ago, and we’ve been together ever since. We fell deeply, madly in love with each other and have been married for nine wonderful years now. He’s patient, kind, gentle-hearted. He’s also always been honest about being gay and has never hidden it from me. Only one of our mutual friends knows this about my husband. Our son also knows, since we thought it would be best to remain open with him about it, so he never “found out” by surprise or from our mutual friend. Our son took the news very well and doesn’t care that his father was gay.

I’ve never told my family, or really any of my friends, as I think they’d all be judgmental. My siblings don’t like my husband, but that’s a different letter in itself. So I’ve always kept it bottled up inside. He’s been married before, and divorced, to a straight woman, with whom he has a grown daughter. I’m a straight woman too. I’ve asked my husband about it, and he confirms that he’s gay, not bisexual. He left his first wife because of a lot of problems (and her infidelity), then he was in a few different relationships with other men, before he met his ex-boyfriend. They were still living together when we met. I’m confused by it all, and it has, at times, caused problems in our marriage, because of my lack of self-confidence. I have doubts that he might leave me someday for a gay relationship like he did his ex-wife. We’ve both been faithful to each other, and he loves me, and I love him. But is that good enough for him? Would you consider him bisexual or gay?

She bullied and insulted students for years; her Florida school let her keep teaching

By the time school administrators in Florida moved last year to fire Susan Oyer, the Boca Raton Middle School teacher had spent nearly a decade drawing harassment complaints from children and parents.

There were accusations she quarreled with students. That she mocked their grades and intelligence. That she used their race or nationality to demean them. That she threatened to sue them. That she revealed confidential information about them to their classmates.

Students reported she pushed a girl from behind. That she prohibited students from using the bathroom. That she belittled a girl for not being an American citizen and threatened to report her to immigration authorities.

Shelley Duvall On Dr. Phil: I Found Out The ‘Hard Way’ What Kind Of Person He Is

Shelly Duvall is the subject of an unexpected — yet lovingly written — profile in The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday.

The reclusive co-star of the 1980 film “The Shining” — who fled from Hollywood to Texas for unknown reasons nearly 30 years ago — had made only one TV appearance after fading into obscurity.

In 2016, she was a guest on “Dr. Phil” in an interview widely panned for being exploitative of someone with a mental health condition. Most famously, Duvall told host Phil McGraw that she believed that Robin Williams, her co-star in the 1980 film “Popeye” who died by suicide in 2014, was still alive and was a shapeshifter.

Court: Parents of child who killed himself can sue educators

The parents of an 8-year-old student who killed himself after being persistently bullied can move forward with a lawsuit against the Cincinnati school district that alleges wrongful death and other charges, a federal appeals panel ruled Tuesday.

The lawsuit's allegations also charge school officials with intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress and failure to report child abuse. The lawsuit says Taye was bullied at his elementary school starting in first grade, with the bullying escalating in his third grade year.

Other students punched and kicked him in assaults and on Jan. 24, 2017, knocked him unconscious by throwing him against a bathroom wall, the parents say in the lawsuit.

He stayed home sick the next day, returned to school Jan. 26 and was bullied again in the bathroom by students who took his water bottle and tried to flush it down the toilet, his parents say. He killed himself that evening in his bedroom.
