Woman sues over too-spicy, ‘unfit for human consumption’ dish

The lawsuit noted that Walia was aware the dish was spicy, but proceeded to order it even though she “does not tolerate spice,” asking the server to have a more mild version prepared for her.

“Harjasleen Walia was poisoned, made ill and burned necessitating medical care,” the scathing claim asserts.

“She incurred permanent injuries and will forever be damaged to her body. These consequences are the direct result of defendants serving to her foods unfit for human consumption.”

Multi-state salad dressing recall issued because of a bizarre contaminant

Food recalls can happen for any number of reasons, but many times they are issued due to undeclared allergens. It can be something as simple as not having milk or nuts listed on the label, leaving people with allergies to those products unaware that they may be harmed if they consume it. That’s the case with a new recall for Brite Harbor Caesar Dressing & Dip.

A Man With an Allergy to Cold Nearly Died After Stepping Out of a Hot Shower

A man’s rare intolerance to the cold almost killed him post-shower. In a recent case report, doctors describe how he developed a severe allergic reaction to the cold air he encountered after stepping out of a hot shower—serious enough to merit a trip to the emergency room and a stay in intensive care.

Your Environment Is Cleaner. Your Immune System Has Never Been So Unprepared.

Should you pick your nose?

Don’t laugh. Scientifically, it’s an interesting question.

Should your children pick their noses? Should your children eat dirt? Maybe: Your body needs to know what immune challenges lurk in the immediate environment.

Should you use antibacterial soap or hand sanitizers? No. Are we taking too many antibiotics? Yes.

“I tell people, when they drop food on the floor, please pick it up and eat it,” said Dr. Meg Lemon, a dermatologist in Denver who treats people with allergies and autoimmune disorders.
