Star Wars: Mandalorian and Grogu (2026) 
A movie about a bounty hunter and the adorable little baby that are bound together by destiny. A Star Wars film without a mythological front. It is what it is and what it is is great fun. Daddy's dulcet tones lulled me into superhero dreams of Dorothy from Oz picking up all kinds of fascinating creatures and having marvelous adventures. Mando is his own worst enemy. He keeps pissing people off who want to kill him. Grogu was the little bastard that stole it with his comical antics and his winning heart. It was a theater experience at home that I adoringly enjoyed. 05-Sep-2026
Her sister was supposed to get married but ended up going on a special trip with her husband. Promises were broken, hearts shattered and a family torn apart. Mourning ensues as the protagonists move on but the antagonist is dealt a blow. Bette Davis was armed and ready to steal as the soulless sister. She was fun and all over the place. I kept hearing different accents. Her instrument was on tilt and her missteps were funny. Olivia acted like post Gaslight and all of Gone With The Wind. After tragedy strikes her life, spoiled brat returns to cause more family havoc. She accidentally kills a child and blames a black associate. The inclusion was a limited spice that was bowing with respect. The time lapse felt rushed, evil bitch showdown where Betty got told self truths was missing, including a part of history that matters to black folks is a plus but the melodrama outdid the film's intentions. Another 40 minutes or so would have added the depth of a book and a classic. 25-Aug-2026
Watching part II first enhanced the experience of the original. The golden retriever was still genius but had no relation to the second pooch and was a little less cute. The government is behind a monster predator on the loose who hunts their own brethren which is the genius dog. They have sent a terminator agent to destroy all evidence of its bloody mayhem. I appreciated the monster in the shadows. It was akin to a gorilla not a candle. Corey Haim fostered the dog and established a cute bond. Mother went along in a breezy and adult manner. Michael Ironside was a ticking time bomb. The steps avoided in the sequel is what I liked about the original. The showdown actualized things it never promised. I liked that. 20-Aug-2026

Super-powered action, simplified storytelling and amiable actors. Mr. Urban's Aussie accent is sorely missed but he's still proficient at delivering quips, face muscles and hair. Bringing back the dead confused. If they can resuscitate you after you die why bother? Is that the point? Because they can? Fight is all that mattered and it's where the film excelled. It took me back to when I payed the games, recognizing characters and being amazed by their looks, moves and kills. 05-Aug-2026
Devil Wears Prada 2, The (2026)
The talent lent credence to their characters by reanimating them organically and with care. It was a trip down memory lane that I barely remembered but that brought forth good thoughts. The threat was grounded, the ladies were absorbent and the camaraderie was constant. Fashion stunned in limited quantities. The beauty of certain outfits were commercialized and a lack of outfit backstory bummed but I felt every single beat the production was drumming and I liked it. 29-Jul-2026
The explanations don't match the truth. One good song hits the sentiment but the rest were lacking. Replacing or reshaping them should have been a priority. If actors can't sing don't let them. The mythology is overcomplicated. It's one thing after another that didn't add up to the book or the classic film. If Glinda had no powers how did she get the shoes on Dorothy? In The Wizard of Oz she uses magic. Romance and politics were unnecessary. They were tools used to tie our thoughts with the original art but only created more threads. Elphaba not being wicked but a misunderstood Jane was the crux of the movie's problem. How does she go from enslaving animals (Wizard of Oz) to PETA activist? Erivo was never allowed the satisfaction to complete her character. I wanted to see her get wicked and become ugly by default. Dorothy's outline was short and cold. None of it was enacted which killed the impact. Heck, they could have inserted edits from the 1939 original and it would have been less goofy than nothing. The players captivated in a story that should have never been tied to the memories of Oz. 22-Jul-2026

Ghost of Dragstrip Hollow (1959) 
Before Scooby Doo there was this. An amalgamation of sitcom sensibilities, talking parrot extremes, dance and musical numbers, generation gap dissection, tom foolery, daddy perversions, money problems, stupidity and lesbians galore. Fast & Furious club are being targeted for more money because of it's reputation. Teen daughter is a drag race queen who has to concoct ways to manipulate the club and the cops from not snitching. She's a manhole on wheels. Daddy does not want his daughter fucking around with bees. Mommy needs to hear about good sex from anyone else. Drag racers are misunderstood. The men are pussies to their sometimes womanly lovers. Agatha was devine. The high is so stupid you have to laugh. Me not understanding what my parents' teenage asses said or did was hilarious and relevant. 05-May-2026
Family of four with a trailer and a teen dream set out on a camping trip. Nuclear explosions greet them on the road and they lose contact with the world. When the family find out it is war circumstances drastically change. The world doesn't bond as expected because all they want is to control their unit. Violence becomes a given, men become rapey, young girls are dangerously aromatic and daddy has to kill. It's a B movie with resonant survival skills. #1. Protect women. 2. Become violent. 3. Buy guns ammo and gear. 3. Gather food and shelter. 4. Get out of the situation you are currently in. 5. Create a home and a fortress. 6. Kill anyone that disagrees or has no conscious. 7. Trust no one that has not been victimized. 8. Kill all the bad ones! 21-Apr-2026
The idea that mammals need to bow to serpents is ridiculous. When babies encounter venom they will hug it and die. It was beautiful, joyful, charismatic and fun. 14-Mar-2026
The military are all dicks so there is no one-upping each other. The banter was less typical and bad assery was disco (non-existent.) The thing had me desperate to see it and not disappointed that I did. The survival half contributed a lot to the action that followed. The cast was essential in directing audience emotions so it can feel it. The thing was scary and unstoppable. Someone is going to invent better AI to kill us. 10-Mar-2026
Jurassic World: Rebirth (2025) 
The human outline was "Aliens." Bailey seemed like a different person which is great for craft but not star watt. The reboot is tighter, the visuals are beautiful and the action was refreshing and tame. I felt like Mikey from the cereal commercials, "I really liked it" but don't ask me why. The only disappointment was not having dinosaurs shred Bailey's or Ali's clothes off. 02-Mar-2026
I have a problem accepting A.I. with feelings. Bionics would have made better sense. Should Predators have a conscience? Predators eat the weak. Logistics aside, the popcorn balloons popped constantly. Sometimes with extra butter. 23-Feb-2026
