Eric Andre says 'James Corden is fucked' if not being nice gets you cancelled

Speaking to Vanity Fair, Andre said: “Boohoo, Ellen was mean. Who gives a shit? I never thought she was nice! She seems like she’d be like, ‘Fucking get me a coffee! Now!’”

“‘That guy’s not nice!’ James Corden is fucked if that’s the only criteria to get called out.”

“James Corden and Lorne Michaels are screwed! They’re trembling in their fucking boots,” he added.

Sarah Jessica Parker Said Lorne Michaels ‘Ignored’ Her When She Hosted ‘SNL’ in the Mid-’90s

The executive producer and creator of the weekly NBC comedy series, Saturday Night Live, Lorne Michaels, isn’t exactly famous for his sunny demeanor. However, even Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker says then when she hosted the show in the mid-90s, Michaels completed ignored her.

A 1995 New York Magazine article about the inner-workings of Saturday Night Live shone a light on Michaels’ managerial style. Most former cast members and/or writers didn’t exactly have glowing reviews.

LGBT students attacked in university Zoom meeting

The online meeting at Durham University was disrupted with loud music, shouted abuse and "sexually explicit videos", say LGBT groups at the university.

The event was for new students who are already facing Covid restrictions.

Durham University said such behaviour "will not be tolerated".

"To hijack an event like this in such an aggressive and targeted way is nothing less than a hate crime," said a statement from LGBT groups at the university, including St Mary's College, where the incident took place earlier this month.

‘Just no’: JLo just dropped a song with Maluma. It didn’t go over well with everyone

Apparently JLo’s new song with Maluma, “Lonely,” contains lyrics that some people find offensive.

Case in point: “Yo siempre seré tu negrita del Bronx,” translates to “I will always be your little black girl from The Bronx.”

The term “negrita” is used in many Latino cultures as a term of endearment, kind of like the word “gorda,” which doesn’t equate to “fat,” but “cutie.” Or “mama,” which can be even used on small children in place of “honey.”

“I don’t like JLo She’s just a wanna be black girl that can hit a two step. She’s an All Lives Matter supporter and now she’s calling herself a ‘black girl from the Bronx.’ idk why she still makes music my dog has better vocal agility than her. Just no.”

‘Just no’: JLo just dropped a song with Maluma. It didn’t go over well with everyone

My mother called me negrito all the time and it was the sweetest meltiest thing. I knew it was not full of malice because her heart thumped whenever she said it and if that's fake I'm outta here. Black people are so persistent that the word is an abomination that they only use it only to humiliate their own, sell some records or control all sexual situations. For latinos it means lots of celebrations with hugs, kisses, talent, sex and loud music. It's our culture and no one outside of us needs to question it. We have our own customs and our own rights. 21-Oct-2020

Chris Pratt, Just Come Out and Say You're a Republican, Thanks!

Somehow, there are two more weeks left before Election Day, which is both comforting and nauseating. The next two weeks are critical or maybe they don’t mean shit. Regardless of where you stand on what’s going to happen on November 3, if you’re not quite sure about who you’re going to vote for, let the cast of the Avengers movies (minus Chris Pratt, spicy!!) convince you otherwise... I guess??

Word on the street (thanks Variety) is that the people who played the Avengers in movies are assembling their star power to do a fundraiser for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Here’s the list of people who are participating in this fundraiser: Don Cheadle, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Rudd, Mark Ruffalo, and Zoe Saldana. Who is missing from this list? It begins with a Crisp and ends with a Rat, and yes, you betcha, you got this one right, it’s the Star-Lord himself, hmmmm! The fact that Pratt is not participating in this debacle, when like, almost every other Avenger is, led to widespread (Twitter) speculation that Pratt’s refusal to do so is because he is, in fact, a MAGA-loving, big, red, too-buff Republican.

Texas Social Workers Can Now Refuse Services to LGBTQ+ Clients

Social workers in Texas can now refuse service to LGBTQ+ clients and clients with disabilities.

In an unanimous Monday vote, the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners changed its code of conduct to allow discrimination based on gender identity, sexual orientation, and disability.

The vote struck down protections that had already been in place. The board banned discrimination based on sexual orientation in 2010 and gender identity and expression in 2012.

The move had been recommended by the office of Republican Gov. Greg Abbott, as the code’s former nondiscrimination protections went above and beyond those offered by state law, which oversees the disciplining of social workers. The governor’s staff had urged the changes in an email last Friday, which sparked the vote just three days afterward.

The move sparked a swift condemnation. In a Q&A about the rule change — held only after the vote had taken place, Austin-based social worker Tracy Abzug slammed it, reports The Texas Tribune.

This Small Town Is Fighting Over the Usage of Pride Flags

For the past two years, rainbow banners had flown from lampposts on Main Street in the city of Heber, Utah, in celebration of Pride month. But when some residents complained that Pride and LGBTQ+ rights were political and did not represent the values or beliefs of the community, Yahoo News reports the city passed a new ordinance in August raising the costs and generally making it more difficult to continue the practice.

“It has pretty much eliminated the option of private citizens funding banners and requesting them to be hung on Main Street, unless they are able to get sponsorship from the city, the county or the chamber, and that sponsorship means some financial sponsorship,” Kelleen Potter, the mayor of Heber City and mother of two LGBTQ+ teens, explained.

The new ordinance requires any event or message promoted on the banners must be nonpolitical and not for profit. Additionally, banner applicants must first obtain sponsorship from the city of Heber, Wasatch County, or the Heber Valley Chamber of Commerce before their application will be considered by the city. In the past, residents could apply to hang banners from the city’s lampposts for a few hundred dollars as long as they were noncommercial in nature.

“As a Christian, our family believes that marriage is between a man and a woman,” one woman is quoted as saying, while others claimed the flag and, by extension, LGBTQ+ rights, were political. Potter claimed she began receiving inquiries wondering if the previous banner policy allowed banners with other allegedly similarly political messages protesting abortion or pornography or featuring symbols associated with the Ku Klux Klan or Nazis.

Why some Latino essential workers remain overlooked amid racial reckoning protests

The vast majority of Latinos living in the U.S. (around 60.6 million) are not undocumented, but 15.7% lived in poverty in 2019, a number that had been falling, but is still more than double their white counterparts, according to Census data.

Latinos also make up a large portion of the labor force in service sectors that were considered essential after the COVID-19 pandemic started (some 65%) -- like some construction, health care and food service workers -- leaving them at higher risk of being exposed to the disease without the protections typically afforded first responders and other traditional essential workers.

"Why are Latinos dying at a higher rate? Because we have no choice," said Frankie Miranda, the president of the Hispanic Federation, which supports Latino-led non-profits around the country. "We have to go to work, stock the shelves, deliver the food, be the sanitation workers, and of course we don't have the protective gear or any kind of information that can help us really navigate this. We know this for sure because our member agencies -- that were already underfunded and under-resourced -- were the ones that needed to step in and be the first responders for our communities."

When asked why he believes the Mexican community has not jumped into action and demanded racial equality following the Black Lives Matter protests, Alvarez suggested: "We are too afraid. Even if you want to do a peaceful protest, you don't want to be arrested because you can get deported."

Alvarez's case points to another situation that many Latinos say is affecting the community: lack of unity.

Nico Tortorella just gave fans a glimpse into their queer polyamorous marriage as well as their relationships with others. In a revealing interview with Attitude, they explained how their life is not defined by gender normative concepts but by love, loyalty, and exploration.

"I think that my own understanding of the binary of sexuality and the binary of gender has transitioned over the years,” Tortorella said, explaining they now try to educate others on the nature of their queerness rather than talk about “who I am with my family.”

Tortorella is married to non-binary and gender fluid activist and entrepreneur Bethany C. Meyers. Although they tied the knot officially in 2018, the pair have been friends and more for almost 15 years after having met during college. Their relationship is at its core one of affirmation and loyalty.

“I mean, Bethany’s my best friend and we have been through a ton of shit together,” Tortorella said.

According to Tortorella, their relationship with Meyers has been the anchor in both their lives.

Former WWE Superstar Alberto Del Rio was indicted on one count of kidnapping and four counts of sexual assault Friday in San Antonio, Texas, according to News4SA.

Del Rio, whose real name is Jose Alberto Rodriguez Chucuan, is alleged to have kidnapped a woman in May. The woman said Del Rio physically assaulted her, tied her up and then sexually assaulted her for several hours.

The woman said Del Rio became angry after accusing her of infidelity. He allegedly told her he would take her son and "drop him off in the middle of the road somewhere" if she didn't put on a dress and dance for him before he allegedly tied her up and gagged her.

School demands a trans student cut her hair or they’ll kick her out

In an announcement made last week, the Louise Independent School District in Texas stopped offering remote learning. They informed families in the over 400-student district that in-person learning was to begin this Tuesday.

And that’s when a transgender high school senior was thrown into a standoff with her school.

Sanay Martinez, a student at Louise High School, had just come out as trans. Now she believes that she won’t be able to return to complete her final school year, as the school told her that she must “adhere to the dress code” of her “biological gender” if she wants to attend classes.

“They told me I can’t come back until I cut my hair and take out my piercings,” Martinez told ABC13.

“As a female, I should follow the female handbook and not the male handbook,” Martinez said. “It’s my senior year and I would love to go back to Louise ISD, but I don’t feel welcome at all.”

Youngling. You can fight to your heart's content but if you lose, buy some man wigs and ties, grow a beard, explore your other side, enhance your creativity and don't worry about fighting the fight. Education is primary. Sashay every once in a while to annoy the educators and attract cute boys but be safe. Keep your camera handy and ready. The adult community is fighting for you. If you want to skip the angst and finish your education in an environment that feels familiar and safe for you, play along, suffer the stigma and hopefully the ass whooping the adults are serving will have earned you the right to return and reclaim the hurt. $. In the meanwhile, you shouldn't have to worry about these things. 02-Oct-2020

Indigenous woman films Canadian hospital staff taunting her before death

Disturbing video captures nurses in Canada taunting and berating a dying Indigenous woman in the last moments of her life.

Joyce Echaquan, a 37-year-old mother of seven, died Monday after being admitted to a Joliette hospital for stomach pain two days prior. But before her death, she managed to start a Facebook Live video capturing the vitriol, CBC reported.

“You’re stupid as hell,” a nurse says in French as Echaquan squirms in pain, according to the outlet.

“You made some bad choices, my dear,” another nurse says, according to the Guardian. “What are your children going to think, seeing you like this?”

Eddie Redmayne Calls The Online Hatred Of J.K. Rowling "Absolutely Disgusting"

The Fantastic Beasts star defended the author in a new interview with The Daily Mail, revealing that the "vitriol" against Rowling prompted him to write her a private note of support. However, he also made sure to stand up for the transgender community, saying that insults against them are "equally" disgusting. "Similarly, there continues to be a hideous torrent of abuse towards trans people online and out in the world that is devastating," he said.

"I would never want to speak on behalf of the community but I do know that my dear transgender friends and colleagues are tired of this constant questioning of their identities, which all too often results in violence and abuse."
