Protesters burn Bibles and American flags in Portland
Protests and riots have been waged in Portland for over two months since the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis in late May. During Friday night's protests, demonstrators exhibited their rage by burning Bibles and American flags in the street outside of the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse.

Riots, Not Protests: The Media Is Gaslighting You / Opinion
Bad-faith media members tell you civil unrest in American cities are really peaceful protests. And when they do actually acknowledge violence, some media frame it as a direct result of President Donald Trump.
You are being lied to. It's an audacious attempt to gaslight the American public, as some media continue their effort to help defeat President Trump.
The Pacific Northwest is under siege. Nightly, riots overtake Portland. In Seattle, there were three costly and dangerous riots over the course of just a week. People are getting injured, and both businesses and public buildings are being destroyed or vandalized. And the media is pretending it's not really happening.
I've covered the demonstrations and they're anything but peaceful. But you don't have to be in Seattle or Portland to understand what's going on. A casual Twitter search yields video after video after video after video of the violence.
So why are we being told the violence isn't happening? It's part of a strategic campaign to push back against Trump's re-election.
Trump sends 100 MORE troops into Portland and calls the protesters 'sick and deranged anarchists' as the DOJ shares photos of gasoline, bleach and Molotov cocktails confiscated during the chaos
The US Marshals Service decided last week to deploy 100 deputy marshals to fortify security outside the Mark O. Hatfield federal courthouse in downtown Portland, according to an internal email obtained by The Washington Post on Monday.
The email indicated that the marshals began arriving last Thursday, ahead of a heated weekend that saw heavily armed federal troops repeatedly fire tear gas, flash bangs and pepper balls into crowds of protesters as they attempted to breach a fence surrounding the courthouse on Saturday and Sunday night.
Protesters set fire to a courthouse in Oakland, California; an armed protester was shot and killed in Austin, Texas; vehicles were set ablaze in Richmond, Virginia; and two people were shot and wounded in Aurora, Colorado after a car drove through a protest.
Statue of Black Lives Matter protester Jen Reid removed in UK
A statue of a Black Lives Matter protester in the UK was removed Thursday — just one day after it replaced a monument of 17th-century slave trader Edward Colston.
Video shows hardhats in Bristol carefully removing the statue of demonstrator Jen Reid with her fist in the air at around 5:20 a.m., the Guardian reported.
The black resin and steel piece — titled “A Surge of Power (Jen Reid) 2020” — was erected early Wednesday by London sculptor Marc Quinn.
It replaced a statue of Colston, which was torn down last month and tossed into the Avon River.
Bristol Mayor Marvin Rees said the city was going through an “incredibly delicate time.”

A man was recorded throwing red paint onto the Black Lives Matter mural that was recently painted on the street in front Trump Tower on Monday.
In brief footage of the incident captured early Monday, the man, whose face was covered, can be seen dumping a can of red paint over part of the mural, days after it was completed. The man, who also doesn't appear to be wearing gloves, then sets the can down on the street and flees.

Former ESPN NBA reporter criticized for hypocritical tweets about George Floyd protests
Veteran NBA reporter Chris Palmer was called out on Twitter for a pair of tweets he sent within the span of a few days.
Palmer was offering his thoughts on the protests across the United States in the wake of George Floyd's death. On Thursday night, Palmer quote-tweeted a photo of a burning building with the caption, "Burn that s— down. Burn it all down." But shortly after midnight on Sunday, Palmer had a change of tone once protesters showed up closer to where he lived.
Unrest in US / Business owners assess looting damage due to protest
The owner and manager of a photography store in SoHo, an affluent Manhattan neighborhood, assess the damage and theft in their store that was looted overnight after anti-police brutality protests. Elliot Kurland, a former photographer who has owned the store for seven years, estimates that over a million dollars worth of goods have been stolen from him: "I hope I have insurance" says Kurland, visibly in shock.
