Almost half of gay and bi men have been sexually assaulted, troubling research finds

SurvivorsUK, a charity that supports men and non-binary people who have experienced sexual assault, asked 505 gay and bisexual men if they have ever experienced “something you would describe as a sexual assault”.

Some 45 per cent of respondents said they had been sexually assaulted, with those in the 18-34 age bracket most likely to have experienced sexual abuse.

'I had to take off my $800 sneakers and cut my own grass': Mass labor shortage in the exclusive Hamptons leaves the rich to cut their own lawns, do their own laundry and even paint their own nails

The pampered residents have been mocked online as mass labor shortages forces them to do the unthinkable; mow their own lawns and do their own nails.

I had to buy a lawn mower and cut my own lawn. I wanted flowers planted behind the pool,' one resident posted on the neighborhood app Nextdoor. 'The landscaper didn't show up. I had to do it myself,'

The same person added that their brother had to teach them how to use 'the thing that trims the weeds.'

'Yesterday, I finally did that. I had to take my $800 sneakers off first, but it was actually satisfying,' the resident added.

'Omg not their lawns!! Should we start a gofundme? Maybe send an edible arrangement?' one person wrote on Twitter.

Chip and Joanna Gaines Finally Break Silence on Racism and Anti-Gay Claims Against Them

Over the course of the years, many fans noticed that the show has never featured an LGBTQ couple in the series. It was odder when it was reported that the church the Gaineses attend has a pastor that is against same-sex marriage. Joanna recently shut down claims that she is anti-gay and racist.

“Sometimes I’m like, ‘Can I just make a statement?’” the interior designer told THR who noted that she teared up. “The accusations that get thrown at you, like you’re a racist or you don’t like people in the LGBTQ community, that’s the stuff that really eats my lunch — because it’s so far from who we really are. That’s the stuff that keeps me up.”

“As an American white male, it’s hard to be perfectly diverse,” Chip added. “In our own company, we’ve got nearly 700 employees, and one of our biggest passions is making this group represent all people.”

Britney Spears Conservatorship Case Heads Back to Court

The legal battle over who should control Britney Spears’s finances and personal life is scheduled to return to the courtroom later this week amid a renewed discussion of how she was treated during her meteoric rise as a teenage pop star and during her subsequent mental health struggles.

What has become clear in recent months through her lawyer, according to court filings, is that Britney Spears no longer wants her father to serve as her conservator.

At a court hearing in November, the singer’s lawyer said that “she is afraid of her father,” whom she has not spoken to in a long time, and that she will not perform again if her father maintains control over her career, The Associated Press reported.

George Michael’s ex caught smashing his way into the late star’s home

George Michael’s ex was busted for smashing his way into the late pop star’s London home — just days before the fourth anniversary of the singer’s Christmas Day death, according to reports.

Troubled hairstylist Fadi Fawaz, 47, was confronted Tuesday morning after breaking a window to get into the “Last Christmas” star’s empty $6.75 million home, the Sun said.

“This is my place. George wanted me to have it,” he allegedly yelled at officers who arrived at the house that Fawaz was kicked out of by Michael’s family last year, the UK paper said.

Is Being an Older LGBTQ+ Person as Terrifying as It Sounds?

Someone asked me the other day what my favorite movie was, and I immediately said Arthur, like I always do. Then they said, “Never heard of it? When did it come out?” I didn’t answer 1981, nearly 40 years ago. At that moment I felt old, out of date, and superficially shallow.

Thus, I was not surprised by a new report from The Fenway Institute that found older LGBTQ+ adults in the state of Massachusetts have been diagnosed with depression at twice the rate of their straight, cisgender peers. It could be Massachusetts or any other state, or any other country because depression among older LGBTQ+ people is real, and no doubt much more widespread than we ever realize. I always tell people that if it could happen to me, the proverbial life of the party, it can happen to anyone. Having dealt with severe depression, and then having sought out many older LGBTQ+ people who also experienced similar circumstances, I found it remarkable that we all suffered from some sort of PTSD from our youths.

Again, not surprised that the report also found that LGBTQ+ individuals were twice as likely to fall and be injured in a fall over the past year, and I wouldn’t be shocked to hear if some of that was related to dangerous behavior about feeling alone and useless. Another woman, a lesbian, told me that she had a life-threatening operation, and has not been the same since and feels there’s nothing to live for, except her cat, who is 10. Otherwise, she is alone, without her partner who died, and without a family to take care of her. The family has made her feel shame for who she is, and she worries about being alone for the remainder of her life. Some days, she doesn’t feel like getting out of bed, and subsists on her Social Security checks, desperately afraid that she’ll end up in a nursing home left to die. We didn’t discuss it, but I’m sure she feels equal trepidation about not being able to pay the costs of round-the-clock care.

‘Little People, Big World’ Star Jacob Roloff Claims He Was Molested by Third Party Producer

Sharing his story. Jacob Roloff detailed the alleged abuse he experienced while working with his family on the TLC series Little People, Big World.

“It is often much easier to think about things than it is to talk about them, and so this disclosure has been delayed, but through that delay, I have found the fortitude and words. As a child, I after what I realize now was a long grooming process, I was molested by an executive field producer for Little People, Big World,” Roloff, now 23, began on Tuesday, December 15, via Instagram.

After acknowledging that he does not “expect to provide details of this encounter,” Roloff wrote that he hopes this man is “never allowed around children again.”

Fashion Designer Peter Nygard Indicted on Sex Trafficking, Racketeering Charges

In Midtown Manhattan, a few streets down from Times Square proper, is a store lit up in blue with the name Nygard plastered across the front. I’ve walked by the place maybe a hundred times during my commuting days (remember those?) and asked myself every time, Who is Peter Nygard and why does he have this big ugly store? As it turns out, the US government was also asking some pointed questions about Mr. Nygard and on Monday, the designer was arrested in Canada for allegedly using his fashion business as a front for sex trafficking and racketeering, CNN reports. Nygard is still in Canada awaiting bail and extradition hearings.

The indictment claims that Nygard and some of his associates had been using jobs in the fashion industry to lure women “into Nygard’s orbit” since 1995. When the women were in Nygard’s grasp, the indictment alleges that they were “forcibly sexually assaulted, drugged, and/or coerced into sexual contact with Nygard.” CNN reports that many of those who were victimized by Nygard were underage at the time. In February, the FBI and NYPD raided one of Nygard’s New York offices on the heels of a civil lawsuit that had alleged sex trafficking as well. The civil suit was filed by 10 women who claimed they had been sexually assaulted by Nygard and that the designer had been trafficking women in the Bahamas where he had a private island.

Former Participants On Home Makeover Shows Are Revealing What Their Houses Look Like Now, And It's Shocking

Everyone loves a good home renovation show...but have you ever wondered what happens to those families after the credits roll? Do those houses that were miraculously constructed overnight actually last, or do they immediately fall apart when the camera crew leaves?

Friends were on a show a few years ago. It was a super intense three weeks of filming and the redesign looked great on camera. In reality, it was literally things stuck together with staples and tape. After the show, my friend took two weeks off work to rebuild everything properly.

My countertop company was hired to fix cabinets and countertops for a house after a Property Brothers episode. Like I’ve seen others comment, the show filmed around all the problem areas so on the episode it looked great. The homeowners were livid after the show just picked up and left and we were stuck dealing with them. Not a fun few weeks.

I work for one of the construction companies that was contracted to build the new house on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. This was like 10+ years ago when the show was at the height of its popularity. Anyways, it was a huge nice house built for a widowed mother with several kids (father had recently died, hence why she was on the show...). Even though the house was "given" to her, she couldn't afford it after a year or so (property tax, electricity, water, upkeep, etc...) and put it on the market. Simply owning a home of that size is very expensive and she couldn't afford it.

‘Married at First Sight’ Fans Feel Fed Up With the Current Experts

Married at First Sight fans are starting to get frustrated with the Lifetime show’s so-called experts. Seasons 10 and 11 have both featured couples that seem to have nothing going for them — fans of Season 10 will probably point to Mindy Shiben and Zach Justice as an excellent example, and those watching Season 11 are currently irritated with Brett and Olivia as well as Christina and Henry. Now, after watching these two Season 11 pairs crash and burn, fans are wondering if it’s time for the series to find new matchmakers.

Married at First Sight fans are taking these mismatched couples as a sign that it’s time for Lifetime to reconsider its experts.

“How are these people getting matched!? It’s not too hard to find out when and if someone wants to have children. Ditto if they are a physically demonstrative, affectionate person or not!” posted a frustrated fan on Reddit.

“This show could be such an awesome sociological experiment but it seems some couples are just being matched for the potential reality TV drama they might create. These are real people they are messing with, in real LEGAL marriages!” they added.

“The experts don’t seem to pay too much attention to what the people are looking for in a partner. They are matching them based on their ‘knowledge’ and are failing miserably. I think it’s definitely time for a change in experts,” opined a commenter on the thread.
