‘Outrage’ over makeup artist fired from Amy Poehler project in race row
The firing of a makeup artist from the buzzy new Amy Poehler project is causing eruptions in the TV world, we’re told.
Earlier this month, Page Six reported that the artist in question was canned from the “Untitled Tracy Oliver Project” — the new show from the “Girls Trip” creator dubbed the “Black Sex and the City” — for allegedly saying the N-word repeatedly in front of one of the show’s lead actresses, while singing along with a rap song. (We know both the name of the actress and the makeup artist, but we aren’t going to print them due to the sensitivity of the situation. The makeup artist is a veteran of many major TV shows and movies.)
Now Page Six is told that her peers are outraged that the artist was fired for using the word — especially, we’re told, because the makeup artist is biracial.

Shelley Duvall On Dr. Phil: I Found Out The ‘Hard Way’ What Kind Of Person He Is
Shelly Duvall is the subject of an unexpected — yet lovingly written — profile in The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday.
The reclusive co-star of the 1980 film “The Shining” — who fled from Hollywood to Texas for unknown reasons nearly 30 years ago — had made only one TV appearance after fading into obscurity.
In 2016, she was a guest on “Dr. Phil” in an interview widely panned for being exploitative of someone with a mental health condition. Most famously, Duvall told host Phil McGraw that she believed that Robin Williams, her co-star in the 1980 film “Popeye” who died by suicide in 2014, was still alive and was a shapeshifter.

Former ‘Doctors’ co-host calls out ‘toxic’ conditions at show
Racism allegations have rocked “The Doctors.” Insiders and a former host tell Page Six the environment at the syndicated daytime talk show has been so hostile, it makes working at “Ellen” look like a walk in the park.”
“The whole culture is toxic. The executive producer [Patricia Ciano] constantly yells at people. She even cussed me out once. There was also always something about my hair. They were constantly making comments, and harassing me about my hair,” Dr. Rachael Ross, who co-hosted the show for three seasons, told us.
“And diversity on screen was not encouraged unless there was a weight loss story,” she added.
Multiple sources claim she often shot down pitches involving African Americans and would berate producers for pitching non-white experts.

Indian television has a real problem with LGBTQ+ erasure
Earlier last month, actor and co-creator of Schitts Creek, Daniel Levy, called out the Indian counterpart of Comedy Central on twitter for reposting a clip from the show that edited out a gay kiss.
"The censorship of gay intimacy is making a harmful statement" lashed out the multiple-Emmy winner, writing #loveislove. The tweet was flooded with replies featuring the gay kiss, and people reprimanding the network for exhibiting such prejudice.
This content is imported from Twitter. You may be able to find the same content in another format, or you may be able to find more information, at their web site.
You showed the kiss between two women, you showed the kiss between a woman and a man, then removed the kiss between two men? This is a show about the power of inclusivity. The censorship of gay intimacy is making a harmful statement against that message.

Keke Palmer Is Facing Major Backlash After Tweeting That Food Stamps Should "Only Work On Healthy Items"
EBT, also known as food stamps or SNAP, is a government-run program that gives individuals with low incomes a small budget every month to buy groceries. And the idea that the government should control what EBT recipients are allowed to buy is a talking point often made by conservatives who would like to see the program either reduced or cut entirely. (Trump, for example, has proposed getting rid of EBT and replacing it with preset boxes of food, in which the recipient has no choice in what they get.)
Suffice to say, Keke was ratioed pretty hard on Twitter for her suggestion — generating a lot more comments than likes.
