Godzilla Minus One (2023)
Beautiful disaster. 04-Jun-2024
Society Of The Snow (2023)
Identity doesn't matter when nature dumps you into oblivion. You identify with minute things that only matter to you. Everyone is entrapped for the same reason. Bad luck. It doesn't take long to establish that the boys are silly and well-trained survivors. Disasters had me living it, the actors kept me spiritually attuned and the writers broke my heart. Every thought was represented and dealt with. These super athletes deserved their status. Hoo-ray for everyone. The director decided not to shock and that was successful. We react to nature and god as a threat. Evolution is necessary for survival but not very good on the brain. Cognitive, intelligent and free thinking. We journeyed, felt and cried. Excellence was it's goal and it tilted. The director played it like soccer. 12-Jan-2024
Leave The World Behind (2023)
Meticulous mommy and wimpy daddy rent an expensive vacation home with their zombie children in tow. The children are the AI we fear. Attached to tech unless the opportunity of live sex veers the boy's head but sister is less inclined. She's almost a full robot. The family receives a late visit from a father and daughter claiming to be in charge and staying the night because disaster seems to have struck the outside world. Mama Julia is suspicious and has every right to be. Unfortunately, the guest daughter's correctness in growling at Julia was justified because she observed Karen sensibilities. Their conclusion was one-sided. They should have both learned something. Black daddy appeared to have no purpose. The story could have survived without the father and daughter but then that poor boy wouldn't have anything to masturbate to. The boat scene chilled, the electric cars thrilled and Julia wrought much character identification. The husband was sympathetic to the new guests but later has an opportunity to save someone and doesn't. Is it because they spoke spanish? I would have liked to see more of the surviving community. The film is incomplete. 10-Dec-2023
Airport 1975 (1974)
Charlton Heston played a super cowboy that had no time for women frivolities. His frivolity is mad at him because all he ever wants is sex. Karen Black is the girl who gets fucked a lot because she loves a man that wont commit. Wait until she sees what happens to the plane. Karen Black was naturally unhinged, vocal, a badge of courage under unwilling circumstances and an extra effect. She battled both sides of her conscience making it jittery. What it lacks in effects, it makes up for with tension. Gloria Swanson was onboard to play herself, Norma Desmond. Linda Blair was paid to lay down and listen to lesbian folk songs. George Kennedy returned to bark. Erik Estrada played a married horny pig. Christopher Norris was sparkly. The male comics were silly. TG disaster struck. 31-May-2023
Airport (1970)
It technically educated the watcher on how airports manage and simply pointed out the obstacles they confront on a daily basis. All-star cast do what they do best and delivered. Helen Hayes brought star wit, watt, robbery and reigned beyond the material. She was it's light, its dark and its favor. Maureen Stapleton's guilt was gut wrenching. Van Heflin was believable as a twitchy loser trying to cash into morality. Story is favored over action which makes us care for them more as the inevitable happens. Dean Martin gives a heartfelt performance, Lancaster was in charge. Bissett epitomized the soul of a woman that finally grew up. The big bad were not terrorists or hijackers it was one person with a gripe that life was unfair to. Split screens worked well, the cast was gung-ho, the soap tasted like strawberries and the saves felt like hope. 30-May-2023
