Project Hail Mary (2026) Arf

I zigzagged to the point of disappointment. The sun will cease to exist in 30+ years unless somebody figures a way to save it. A science professor that treats his students like he's Barney is earth's only hope. Sandra Huller takes charge of the project and our attention. Once the basics were revealed the flashbacks destroyed my belief. An ordinary man is tasked with saving a humanity that lacks it. The flashbacks did not move the concept forward. The rock gave me pause but I relented because Mr. Gosling was in supreme mode. I ended up resenting it and it's lack of imagination. I had a pet rock as a kid and nothing good ever came of it. I lost it when somebody threw it at me and I began to bleed and scream. The main character is the least descriptive because he was cast as a loner who had nothing to live for. Beauty has no connections? Odd. Huller's character was diminished by a lack of side story. The karaoke characterization spoke of a different spirit not evolved. For some odd reason, I kept comparing it to Armageddon but decided that was impossible. I enjoyed Armageddon. 05-Jul-2026

Bugonia (2025) Arf

I appreciated the concept but I have no idea what planet this movie is from. Nutter kidnaps executive because he thinks she's an alien. A cousin is his Frankenstein sidekick. The actors wrecked, the bumbling idiots had no solid plan, the cop was unnecessary, and I wished everyone was in a cohesive movie. The hype doesn't allow me to play along because the outcome is obvious. When the embroidered sacks appeared I went into hysterics. If I had been in a theater I would have had to run out before I got thrown out. Stitched rope. LOL! 01-May-2026

Panic In Year Zero (1961) Woof

Family of four with a trailer and a teen dream set out on a camping trip. Nuclear explosions greet them on the road and they lose contact with the world. When the family find out it is war circumstances drastically change. The world doesn't bond as expected because all they want is to control their unit. Violence becomes a given, men become rapey, young girls are dangerously aromatic and daddy has to kill. It's a B movie with resonant survival skills. #1. Protect women. 2. Become violent. 3. Buy guns ammo and gear. 3. Gather food and shelter. 4. Get out of the situation you are currently in. 5. Create a home and a fortress. 6. Kill anyone that disagrees or has no conscious. 7. Trust no one that has not been victimized. 8. Kill all the bad ones! 21-Apr-2026

War Machine (2026) Woof

The military are all dicks so there is no one-upping each other. The banter is less typical and bad assery was disco (non-existent.) The thing had me desperate to see it and not disappointed that I did. The survival half contributed a lot to the action that followed. The cast was essential in directing audience emotions so it can feel it. The thing was scary and unstoppable. Someone is going to invent better AI to kill us. 10-Mar-2026

Jurassic World: Rebirth (2025) Woof

The human outline was "Aliens." Bailey seemed like a different person which is great for craft but not star watt. The reboot is tighter, the visuals are beautiful and the action was refreshing and tame. I felt like Mikey from the cereal commercials, "I really liked it" but don't ask me why. The only disappointment was not having dinosaurs shred Bailey's or Ali's clothes off. 02-Mar-2026

Predator: Badlands (2025) Woof

I have a problem accepting A.I. with feelings. Bionics would have made better sense. Should Predators have a conscience? Predators eat the weak. Logistics aside, the popcorn balloons popped constantly. Sometimes with extra butter. 23-Feb-2026

M3GAN 2.0 - (2025) Arf

Logistics must be abandoned to enjoy it. It had Robocop qualities. There were robot tactics aplenty, mama drama and parental gullibility. The premise was cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs until it exploded. Every iteration of M3GN was a collectible, the musical moment was inspiring and junk never looked so good. 31-Jan-2026

Companion (2025) Whimper

Robot malfunctions when man's animal instincts unleash and cause chaos. I admire the film for triggering my imagination. The environment is fresh but by exploring only the sympathetic sex, the general message becomes exclusive. Why not make it a male robot that is programmed heterosexual and misinterprets male seduction as hostile? That's a spin that a robot could misinterpret. Violently. There is a lack of tech in a movie about artificial intelligence. My capacity to accept that robots can have feelings and act exactly like humans is too far out. AI glitches. The companion could have been a little more robotic. Half the fun in watching human actors play synthetics is their interpretation. Acting like themselves does not convince anyone that it's a robot. A robot's personality progression should be gradual and the enlightenment, godly because a human programmed it. I think having the robot become more human as the humans become more robotic could have amped things up. 23-Dec-2025

Great Flood, The (2025) Woof

It wasn't something I expected but am very pleased that it turned out that way. Patience begets understanding, information and the importance of acting as a whole instead of as an individual. I presumed that our leads gave a great performance in their native language but I chose dub and the acting was horrible, esp. the adorable child. It didn't matter because talking wasn't necessary. There are only so many words one can blurt out in an end of life scenario. It haunted, it accelerated and broke a few hearts. 23-Dec-2025

Lilo & Stitch (2025) Woof

I thought that the human Pleakley was Jonathan Groff. After comparing butts I was less assured. Magnusson was great. My coordinates kept getting fucked up. The film succeeds with humanity, culture and respect. Animation and live art expand its universe. Is it Nani or Noni? My game says Noni whilst the new say Nani which sounds like nanny no matter how you slice it. 13-Sep-2025
